  1. Copy that guys. Before I go & adjust the T-bars, I'll ensure measurements are made at the recommended points. No BL or SL on this one. Also noticed that when I downshift (automatic) hard, I get the similar feeling of the back end torque to the passenger side. I guess it is a bushing somewhere.. I'm off to investigate.
  2. So....I see the rear stabilizer bar has bushings like the front one...maybe I'll start here. But what about the stabilizer bar connecting rods...would they have anything to do with the ride quality? What do the upper & lower links do? And what does the panhard rod do? I see that the panhard rod and the links all have bushings. Do those wear out? I only have 200,000 km (115,000 miles) on 'er. Thanks for replying...I appreciate it!
  3. This is hard to explain, but my '95 SE handles a little "funny". Going over expansion joints on a bridge, when the rear crosses, I feel a hard jolt in my seat and it seems like the truck "skips" a little to the right. Almost like the axles is crooked.. She's never been abused or in an accident. I've replaced front suspension bushings, all shocks, rear springs and all tires. Frame is intact and rust is minimal. The driver's side torsion bar is a little lower (1/2") than the passenger measuring off the front fenders. Do you think this could be the problem or the rear suspension bushings? Talking about the rear suspension bushing, I have access to an hydraulic press. Should I just buy the bushings or the assembly? Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!
  4. Re: Your alarm light. My '95 w/ factory alarm has two (2) switches. The first is down by the driver's left foot, and the other is down by the driver's right foot. One of them controls the remote starter, and the other controls the alarm. Maybe you haven't found the other switch yet??
  5. Re: your tire carrier. Do what Precise said. The needle point for a grease gun is about 3 bucks here in Canada so it should only cost you about 2 which is far cheaper than repairing bodywork. Dielectic grease is for electrical stuff (spark plug boots, ect) and is not the HD stuff you want protecting the tire carrier bushings. If you can get the needle point, then beg / borrow / buy a grease gun and do it up right. A Q-tip won't.
  6. You could try to pinpoint the sound more specifically by holding a length of say, 1'' doweling (an old broom handle would work), by say 12-15" long to the engine block areas, Put the other end to your ear....it works like a doctors stethascope. Please be aware of moving parts when you do this. The sound waves will travel up the dowel to your ear. This is kinda like the 2 tin cans and a length of string idea..... Worth a try?
  7. I nominate VegasPathfinder for Engine of the Year
  8. Thanks for the props there BowTied!
  9. Probably Adamzan was measuring in Imperial Gallons not US Gallons... But why is mileage so much lower in the winter?

    Headlight washers

So they just opened up a Princess Auto in this here town; now I can see if they have inline pumps and nozzles. Why have 2 washer jugs? I'm thinking about installing an additional washer line into the existing reservoir and running the pump off a switch in the cabin. BTW TerranoNZ, thanks for the pics- they helped!!!
  11. Good grief...just when I thought I was almost finished wrenching on mine...! Now I'm off searching, and thinking about a summer project! Who has done a conversion???
  12. Mobil 2000 & Bosch filters. Running just fine @ 195,000 km.
  13. While it was snowing and - 13, I changed the oil & filter then added a second tow hook I got from the JY. 5W-30 sure pours like pancake syrup at that temp!

    Headlight washers

Yeah, I could but...500 km between fuel stops...110 km/hr....lots of 18 wheelers....2 lane highway....= I don't like to pull over to wipe 'em down....
  15. So.... I was wondering about rigging up some sort of washer / &/ or/ wiping system with JY parts for the headlights since I drive a lot on crappy roads @ night. I am thinking about lines running off the wiper fluid lines and with a couple of inline pumps to act as a high-pressure wash. Anyone done this yet, or am I gonna have to write up my first "how to"?
  16. howdy! Nice lookin' ride you got there!
  17. Normal?? I was creekside & the welds around the muffler to t/p broke. I just broke it off @ the hangar.
  18. The tailpipe fell off the day after I bought my 'finder! So, I am following this thread with interest 'cause I'm going to have to replace my whole system in the spring. Keep us posted with what you end up doing, ok?
  19. not to threadjack, but I'm gonna... can you / are you running full sized rubber on those? I'd like to put a 31x10.5 on my spare rim instead of the "temporary use only" POS that is on there now...
