  1. What I DIDN'T do on my Pathfinder today was be able to remove the passenger strut rod bolts to the LCA. Those F'ers are well on there tight! I need more heat & a bigger impact gun. So I guess you could say, I gave up on my Pathfinder today
  2. Yep, that's true! I always say "buy quality parts and quality tools and do the job yourself but if you cheap out on either parts or tools, you're just gonna have to do the job again". I'm back on the road & I'm safe inside. time for a couple of these!!
  3. ...and then I get home and read this ^^ and Alkorahil could have saved me more but really, I need this on the road NOW & I can't afford to wait on shipping. Good info, & yes, I am replacing everything....
  4. Yeah, so I call my dealer at 7am & he tells me he has 2 instock & they are 68 bucks each. So I say to him "Vancouver dealers have them for about 60 but that's ok I'm in a bit of a jam". Off I go to pick one up & when I get there he has adjusted the price to 59 and change. Nice! Sewebster just saved me 9 bucks!!!
  5. Copy that! I'm calling in the am...that's not a bad price I suppose. at least mine aren't as bad as these!! http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=22748&st=0
  6. hmmm, ok...no JY's 'round here that are u-pick which is reflected in the price. Guess I'll go the dealer route. Thanks for the info kids!
  7. Oh total crap! working on my ride & joy today, installing some new Compression / Tension / Strut rod (whatever!) bushings with some new Energy Suspensions and the rod on driver's side is soooo worn out I shouldn't be driving this thing....so I WON"T, but I work on call & I need it to make $$$.... Anyway, my local parts place doesn't show a listing, and my regular online place doesn't carry them. Called the dealer at 5:02 and they didn't pick up but reception did & told me parts closed at 5:00. Damn, I'm not impressed! Anyone know where to find a set? I'm thinking that passenger will be equally as bad.... maybe I can't answer the phone tomorrow.....
  8. Didn't get called in for work today so I replaced the exhaust & tail pipe. Those little hangars were a royal pain to remove! This job took far too long to do because the replacement part was just one piece and I had to jack up the rear of the truck & then remove the gas tank skid plate for clearance during installation. Oh, did I mention the hangars?? Got it done though! Result: nice & quiet. I didn't upgrade to a performance exhaust or anything fancy, cause I don't want to spend the dosh, and my Lambretta Motorscooter is loud enough to make me appreciate a quiet running vehicle!
  9. yeah, follow (read) the first thread to the end page(s). I bought mine off the ebay. The details are in the thread. Super easy & a great improvement! Cheers
  10. Lots of good info in this thread! http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=4945 and here. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=31058
  11. Sprayed down the rusty exhaust bolts with penetrating oil in the hopes of replacing the exhaust tomorrow. And while I was under there, gave 'er an oil change.

    exhaust gasket

So I'll soon be removing & replacing my muffler to repair a rust spot under the rear seat. I'm wondering if the new black fibre gasket needs some sort of wet sealer (RTV?) or does it just go on and seals as a result of the bolts compressing it? Also, does anyone know the bolt size & pitch of the bolts from muffler to Cat? I need the bolts onhand just in case something breaks as I live out-of-town. Thanks! d edit: '94 WD21
  13. oh, and while the bumper was off, I sanded down the chrome, fiberglassed the holes, bondo & glaze puttied the holes. Also POR 15'd the bumper inside & out. Tomorrow will include a topcoat of black satin (hot-rod black) and a reinstall. Slowly blacking the chrome out one part @ a time!
  14. Fitted the horns from a deVille onto the 'finder. Super easy install, I don't mind the tone but I reeeaalllyyy want more VOLUME. Maybe I'll add a third horn from something....
  15. Yes, I'm inclined to agree here. My floor was burned through & I have a pre-cat. I notice that there is no heat-shield attached to the body for the pre-cat, like there is for the cat. Edit: Now I'm losing it!! There IS a heat shield for the pre-cat, just not continuing forward enough to cover the flange!
  16. Nice work! It will make a hell of a difference in the brightness of your lighting! On my truck, I used a manufactured harness (I was too lazy to make one up!) and the difference is amazing! Please post a wiring diagram, I'm sure others will want to make one up!
  17. Precise, do you recall the model & price of that Magnaflow? It was a 2" diameter, correct?
  18. I have a pre-cat on my '95 SE. I was searching to see if it would be detrimental to remove it & just go with one cat. I think I'll put an intermediate pipe on there instead. Hopefully, I'll have a new exhaust by Monday.
  19. I'm pretty sure that it should be checked in Park; not Neutral.
  20. Howdy & welcome! Nice looking ride you've got there. The pick-a-part in Chilliwack have a few WD21 Pathfinders in their yard if you need parts or a spare tire carrier.
  21. POR 15! ....I don't have to say more than that, do I.
  22. Picked up a trailerload of lumber to reframe & reside the garage and then repainted the tire carrier during a break from hammering.
