Getting the Pathfinder ready for it's new owner, removed all my stuff, told him I would leave the radio but was taking the EQ, so today, swapped out my E-code Hella headlights and installed the 2 DOT Hella's he sent to me, replaced 2 grille clips that were broken. Removed my amp and EQ, wired the door speakers to the radio, re-installed the factory pocket under the radio, re-installed the radio with out using the aftermarket kit, the pocket had brackets I used to attach the radio, just had to trim the radio bezel slightly, : I know it's dirty didn't get to the cleaning part yet, LOL Also packed up some extra parts for the new owner, spare distributor, FI harness, auto hubs, etc, etc. ! That Alpine came out the same year as the pathfinder, 94 !!

What does the XE stand for on 1991 Pathfinder model #

Hey Adam ! There's that clip you said I was missing: I have this same spare, was on my PF when I bought it ! LOL: -
Does yours have the adjustable shock absorbers? does his? There would be a switch in the center console on your 94 and I think on the 93 it may be in the dash. The amount the torsion bars are cranked up would effect the ride as well as the tires also

or it has a load in the rear

How are you going to work it so the compressor receives oil (lubricant) but doesn't pass it thru to your air output? I mean you can probably use the input line going to the compressor and put an oiler inline but than you would need some type of filter on the output otherwise oil will be mixing with the air coming out. Just curious. The older style York compressors would be the best way to go but they are so big and there probably isn't a lot of room to mount one.

MrEviLDeD's Count Down to Inspection (Cheeky Grin)

The best price I got on a windshield replacement down here, for the pathfinder was $250 if I went to their shop or $292 if they come to my location, that was thru Safelite -
It's probably not lifted, I meant if the torsion bars were cranked to make the front higher more than the height it would normally be stock, like on some peoples trucks where they crank the bars and make the front end so high the upper control arm is sitting on the rubber bumpstop.
-
alignment shop will have all the specs, just have to watch they don't lower the front end, especially if the torsion bars are cranked to make it higher, my truck they actually had to raise slightly to bring it into spec. Some shops may try to tell you it can't be aligned because it is "lifted" that's BS and any shop that says that doesn't want to do the work. Find another one if that happens

Did you call Rockauto? what did they say??

MrEviLDeD's Count Down to Inspection (Cheeky Grin)

Just check all the valve cover bolts you can get too first, as I said mine were so loose I could turn them with my fingers but I didn't have any leaks, the OEM gasket was on there really good. -
Well as I said above usually they cut the starter/ignition wire under the column and tuck the brain up behind the fuse box. You (anyone) can un bypass the starter kill under the column without removing anything else and all should be good,
-
It could if that side is dragging, could also be a bad caliper or the tire
-
usually an alarm will have an ignition kill, if you remove an alarm, factory or aftermarket, remove the steering column upper and lower covers and look for the thick wire, most alarms require the thick wire to be cut and than routed through the alarm brain, if the thick wire is cut, just join the 2 halves together and you shouldn't have any problems starting the truck.

had the tires rotated and balanced

Welcome to npora !!! You can start your own build thread in the members section I believe, for mechanical questions post in the garage, try to search first as any question you may have had probably been asked already, If you want to post pics not nissan pathfinder related do it in the off topic section, most of the time if you post in the wrong area a moderator will move it for you

wiped it down using Mothers "Showtime" still looks as good as the day I spent 3 days doing the Mothers 3 step process on it !

The 22RE engine is a good engine, maybe yours was a lemon, I've heard complaints about the head gaskets in the 3.0 V6 in the Toyota's although we never had a problem with the one in the 88 4x4 pickup we used to own. My buddy has an 86 Toyota with the 22R and after 3K miles when he changes the oil it comes out gold still!! I guess it all depends on how it was taken care of. I always liked the first gen 4 runners with the removable top's and the 84-85's with the solid axle, 89 would have been a decent one for me to have, last year of the removable top with the V6. Anyway, I don't really think it's a fair comparison going from the 86 4cyl 4 runner to a 97 pathfinder but at least you have a Nissan now ! I've always found the Toyota owners to be more "cocky" than the Nissan owners but I'm sure each brand has it's share of cocky" owners ! LOL Good luck with your 97 !

No Turn signals, Horn, Cruise control, or Hazards
ahardb0dy replied to FindMe's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Welcome -
Usually that's how I will do it, tighten it down, spin the rotor both directions a few times, than loosen the lock ring just enough so the screw will line up through the outer ring and the lock down nut, as long as there is no play in the bearing after the wheel/tire is installed ( and if there is, you can pull it back apart and tighten it slightly more) A cheap way to tighten that ring is to use 2 phillips screwdrivers across from each other and than use a wrench or another longer screwdriver to pry against the two you inserted into the lock ring.

No Turn signals, Horn, Cruise control, or Hazards
ahardb0dy replied to FindMe's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
The horn and cruise could be due to the steering wheel not making contact with the 3 pins that are on the part where the turn signal and wiper switch mount too, see my thread here on what I did to fix the horn and cruise here: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/35469-steering-wheel-contact-ring-spacers/ Your truck may not need spacers, I would pull the steering wheel first, make sure the steering wheel is sitting level so you can put it back in the same position when you are done, remove the one screw on the back lower that holds the horn pad on ( if it has the screw), than pull the horn pad out, don;t just rip it off as there is a wire for the horn connected to the pad, unplug the wire ( from either end), loosen but do not remove the nut holding the steering wheel on, grab the steering wheel at the 9 & 3 positions and while pulling towards you wiggle the steering wheel and it should come right off, you leave the nut on so the steering wheel doesn't slam you in the face. After removing the steering wheel, try touching from one of the pins to the shaft the steering wheel sits on with a metal screw driver to see if the horn actually works, sorry I do not recall which pin out of the 3 is for the horn, if the horn blows than the problem could be the copper pins are worn down or they could be dirty, also check the metal rings on the rear of the steering wheel to make sure they are clean, they should have some grease on them but it does conduct electric. Does your cruise light come on when you press the switch in the dash at all? If you find the horn works by jumping the pin as I stated above that may be why the cruise is not working, you can do as I did with the spacers or there is another write up on how to make the pins stick out further. The cruise not working can also be due to the rubber bumper on the brake pedal lever under the dash being missing or it could be the vacuum line under the hood that comes off the cruise actuator, sometimes the end of the rubber hose will split and the hose will come off. Do your turn signals work out side the truck, front or rear but not blink in the gauge cluster? Or do you get nothing at all? If nothing and all the fuses are good it could be the switch on the column. If the turn signals work front and rear but not inside it may be bad bulbs, not likely that both would burn out at the same time though. Check all this and write back, good luck
