    buy a standalone autometer and you will save time and money. but if you want to fix it, I would check the wiring in the dash, it has probally worn a wire bare and is grounding out.

    are we going for form or function here. i cranked mine and didn't have any down travel in the suspension so it was bouncing off the whoops. I then took them back down a notch and now they have a more even up/down travel so I can take the bumps better. I do have UCA's to put on and reservoir shocks next. =)

    buy whatever exhaust you can afford. my muffler is a resonator off a 350z.

    The vg30 is not a rocket ship by any means. It has no bottom end from my experience. It does love the midrange and does ok up top. I have put a resonator from a 350z on mine and it sounds great. Small improvement. I have a JWT intake to install next and all the parts to do the tune up. I think at 225k the motor is just tired. Save for the 3.3 or 3.5 swap if you want to go fast ricky bobby.

    If anything, I would just purchase new orings for the hoses and pipes, then have someone evac and recharge. There is R12 available. It's hard to find. It's called "freeze12" and it's about $45 a can. When I worked at the dealer I sold 6 cans to one guy because he knew the supply and demand ration.

    I paid $1100 for my salvage title CA truck and it has some rust too. Just not that deadly east coast cancer.

    i have a fsm, but haven't verified yet. I believe you have to unhook the throttle body postion sensor to set idle.
