  1. Sometimes you can use a gasket tack adhesive to hold it in place for assembly. However, usually a part has a gasket between the mating surfaces like exhaust or silicone a front timing cover for example, but not both.
  2. Update. Can't find a cost effective VG33ER flywheel new/used... so going with stock resurfaced and a JWT Z31T upgraded clutch kit. Now hard choice on exhaust... Do I A)Buy new Stock manifolds Buy cheapo Pacesetters C) Buy ceramic coated Pacesetters D) Buy Thorley headers
  3. Project Off Road Nissan is going to come to fruition soon... starting to gather the parts. Will post pics when possible. I'm not on this forum often so bear with me. life if busy. Here's what we got... 1990 Nissan Pathfinder SE 3.0 M/T Here's where we're going... VG33E swap from 97 Frontier JWT S2 Cams JWT Cam Spings and Shims Undetermined Brand of Headers VG33RE Flywheel JWT 350Z Clutch JWT ECU mod 1996 Hardbody Crank Pulley Experimental Engineering Mod Brackets RR Solid Motor mounts Plus more.. but it's a good place to start.
  4. What clutch kit did you use?
  5. Check your hubs, especially if auto hubs. Mine were making horrible noises like you describe.
  6. Those cats do go bad... we sell them. The front ones self destruct and plug up the back ones. The front ones are "cats" the rear are considered "resonators" but both have cats...
  7. If you have fender flares be prepared to lose them. I'm running 31x10.50r15" Radars R5 on Legos. They rub the fender wells and tear off the rear fender flares when bottoming out. The front's rubbed horrendously so I put a wheel spacer on the front....
  8. If there aren't any worn out bushings on the control arms or upper strut mounts, it could be a combination of driver input, driving pattern and road surface. If you take corners like a racecar, it's going to push and the tires will deflect and scrub. If you are in 4wd a lot or your hubs aren't disengaging, it's also going to wear funny. Seeing as it is a used tire were trying to diag, it could also be an inherited trait from the prior vehicle they were installed on. What's your normal drive? Asphalt (smooth/rough) Gravel Concrete Are you an agressive driver? What PSI? Have any extra weight riding around with you? Turn right a lot more than left? Rotate em?
  9. What all came in the kit? Might just need a $10-20 universal off road lighting kit with a relay. Then you just need 12v and ground.
  10. Starting to gather the parts for the swap... found a pulley that will work for the swap. Vbelt with 32mm crank hole...
  11. No problems here. Just didn't understand the context. Makes sense now. After taking a year or two hiatus myself. I too have resurrected old threads. Sometimes there's new isight to old posts. I enjoy this online community. Thanks!

    EURO CAMS!

Good stuff. The pricing is no doubt due to supply/demand. When Nissan Motorsports was going out, they had a clearance sale. Cams were under $100 if I remember right...
  13. Hmmm. I'm digging the fact that this is working. What was the premise for the experiment? I mean, where did the eureka moment to swap sprockets happen?
  14. I'm doing a similar swap, 90 VG30E to 97 Frontier VG33E. I work at a Nissan Dealer and the Xterra and Frontier have the same oil pickup tube and oil filter mount. Which are indeed different from the R50. My question lies in the VG33 to VG30 pan issue... if using a VG30 pan, does the VG33 pickup work? Also, side of block has a block off plate where you can install an oil filter stud... I'm thinking about installing the stud/check valve and locating the filter where it's supposed to go... Thoughts or Experience?
  15. Kudos for taking broken cam to running!
  16. Looks good, but kinda weird at the same time... kind of resembles a skid plate asthetically. As long as it works!
  17. Damn! That had to be an east coast car... Wanna buy my pathfinder?
  18. Exhaust manifold, Lifter, Injector, Fan hitting something?
