  1. I will assume his pathfinder exploded. I would like to know tho... sounds interesting but won't work for my pathfinder considering what I use it for.
  2. I will check exhaust leak either way. I'm thinking valve issue as well and it is intermittent. Goes away when the car is moving as well. Only when idle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I parked at work and tried to see if I could record it but the noise stopped. Looks like it is intermittent! Makes my life so much easier... I did notice this when I was driving: when it's in drive, it will make the ticking/knocking noise but when I put it in neutral or park, the noise stops. Confused! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Went offroading (forest service road, nothing crazy other than the one tame mud hole) last weekend and on the way home I noticed a loud ticking noise. Thought it might be my engine running low on oil so I pulled over checked it. It was OK but topped it up. Fired the engine up, sounds fine then started ticking again but only at idle. I'm stumped. Yesterday, I was driving home from work and noticed it again. Thought I should try holding down my brakes while in drive and give a little gas. Ticking noise stopped completely until the engine went back to idle then started like half a second later. Any ideas? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Maybe I will dissect it on my next oil change and show y'all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. The economy super cheap frams are the one to be wary of. The higher end stuff are fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. x2. I do the EXACT same thing as ferrari. The only sucky thing is that I can't find rain-x in 11" for my rear but whateveer I got a cheap one because the previous owner put a 13" on it that kept hitting the handle.... Same oil and same filter until last oil change though. I used Castrol full synth. and Fram Ultra Synth filter. I used Mobil 1 but I REALLY hate the fact they don't have a rubberized grip on the bottom for easy removal. I get whatever oil is on sale at Canadian Tire. Mobil 1, Castrol or Pennzoil. Always 5w20, full synthetic.
  8. Just curious, if you leave your pathfinder sitting for a couple days or more, do you notice an oil leak underneath? I had my pathfinder sit in the parking spot for 4 days without moving last weekend. When I drove it on Monday, I heard a ticking sound and I was like, "wtf??" and saw that I had lost some oil. Topped it up and it was fine again. Just curious... I'm thinking it might be a seal that shrinks when it cools down enough and then leaks... somewhere...
  9. Between air intake and throttle body on the driver side closest to fender and radiator. I would also check for vacuum leaks on that piping. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Nice price, nice tires! I think I will consider Cooper when my GG need to be replaced (not for a while) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I would have normally agree that it couldn't be the cats but since the previous owner did disconnect the CEL (dick move), it is a pretty fair bet that the owner neglected maintenance and allowed both cats to fail over time. I still agree that you should check the air flow meter and the o2 sensors first. Then I would find the PO and express my feelings through my therapeutic baseball bat. 13. Tire balancing. Had the exact same problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
