my pathfinder is having some issues - o2 sensors, cluster.
R3DN1CK replied to lhanse13's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I've got intermittent Fuel gauge and a really laggy/inop Speedo... I didn't find this out until I put cash in the hand of the man who sold it to me and I drove away. I believe R50's are possessed by demon spirits. -
Here's the exploded parts diagram... http://mossynissanpowayparts.com/nissanparts/index.cfm?action=replacement&groupid=E§ionid=275&partcode=11935M&jointvehid=9137&siteid=218114&partnumber=1192688G00

I didn't see if this was Auto or Manual, but also check the Inhibitor switch and starter relays, if it's a manual there's a blue/brown relay on the fender area that sometimes goes bad.

I'll have to get some up here for you guys. I'm not big on having my photos in multiple places. If they are on Facebook, I don't want to have them on photobucket or whatever also... so I'll figure out the URLS and add some pics for y'all.

Looking good! -
Swapped the 32's on Lego's from the old P.O.R.N., doesn't look too bad on P.O.R.N.2. I have a facebook album for it I'm updating as I go. If you're on face book look for "Nick Ewing-Pistelak" and friend request me. Be warned your feed may get blown up with Pathfinder stuff, Band stuff and general nonsense. I used the 1.5" wheel spacers I was rocking on the WD21 with the lego's to net a 4" backspace. Had to remove the front splash guards and did a test run, appears will need heat gun to deform front splash guard on both sides. Keep in mind this is pre-lift so life should be good after the AC Rancho kit. Next up are rear link replacement and then the lift and shocks. WD21 Part out requests, please PM me and I'll give you my cell to text offers/work out details. PM's sent to the interested parties this morning. Sorry Admins. Going to post up the WD21 in the "for sale" section today, if it lets me...

Nope, San Diego. Car runs and drives. I'm stealing the 32s for this R50. But we could sell the whole thing for 1500, you can take what you want and part it out on your time... and find a local source for some cheapo 15inchers to get ya home. I'd trust it to drive to TX.
-
I'll have to verify but the pass vent may be the only one not broken. I'm outta town but will verify Thurs.

Front AC upper arms, new ball joints and bushings. New lower ball joints. Prototype Bilstein remote reservoir shocks. Rear Upgraded Nismo lower bushings, Bilstein 7100 rear shocks Bring your pathfinder, some tools and some cash. Need this to be a roller still, gonna have to trade me for your stock stuff.
-
Everything... to a point. It runs and drives currently. So important things that make it run will have to wait, unless there's cash in hand. But everything non drivetrain at the moment is up for sale. Name it and make an offer.
-
My OCD got the best of me... ordered the Upgraded Rancho Kit. Couldn't fathom having different front to rear brands.
-
I tried to call Bilstein to see if my connection still worked there, he doesn't. Bummer. He's the one who helped me get the prototype remote reserviors on my WD21.... guy on the phone basically said they don't have a listing for it so he hung up. Really sucks because Bilstein is a street over from our dealership. I looked into the KYB's and the OE knock offs... they are all geared for street. Rancho claims to be off-road capabale shocks. I'll put them to the test and if they suck, I'll cross that bridge. No more cool electronic suspension. So, I pulled the trigger, after asking 1,000,001 questions to the 4x4parts.com guys... I bought the upgraded Rancho kit! http://www.4x4parts.com/i-18981319-pathfinder-suspension-package.html I'll have to let ya'll know if it sucks or rocks after I get it. They said it shouldn't have any issues. Now I need to sell the WD21 or part it out to help pay for this kit!!!!

That does sound kind of ghetto having to use zip ties. I like zip ties, just not on my brake lines. You don't recall the rear Bilstein part number do you? It may not be a Baja500 contender, but I'm a no front swaybar kinda guy and you're a no rear swaybar kinda guy... so we each have a style.
-
That's good information. This R50 will be desert trails/washes for 97% of its life. What kind of off roading do you do with the KYB's? I'm not concerned about the daily driver performance, I'm concerned in the performance aspect of being heat cycled and beat up pretty hard. When you say the Rancho quality level isn't on par with the KYB's, what specifically did not seem quality? I'm about to call 4x4parts with my credit card, so everyone's input is welcome. Bilsteins have never failed me. Had em on my 81 F150, my 00 Frontier, my 90 Path...

I have a 96 R50. My 90 WD21 had Adj shocks too, but I yanked em and put the reservour Bilsteins... Didn't care because it was a desert beater. This one's nice so I'd like to keep it all intact. Updated profile, sig and photo for ya XPLORx4. Good to know that it doesn't affect the other systems. Kind of cool that it has the adjustability, but not sure it actually even works with the age of the car. The light on the switch says it's operating, but with wonky bushings in the rear... couldn't tell. I don't really like Rancho either, but my OCD would drive me insane to know I had two different brands front to rear. I've ran KYB GR2's and they were junk on my Sentra when autoX racing. Who knows, maybe they are better. I'm going to be going pretty quick down washes and hitting some bigger bumps occasionally. My first choice is Bilstein, but they don't offer squat for the R50. Rancho has been in the game forever and was an OE shock on a Titan "offroad" a few years back, so they are kind of Nissan like.
-
Manual with a 3.0, need to keep RPMS higher. Auto with 3.3 or 3.5, they have more torque.
-
Hawairish, thanks for the heads up. Trust me, Nissan has a lot of random stuff going on... I'm a parts manager. I can't get a pcv hose for 2005 Titan, a Hazard flasher for a 97 Froniter, but today (thankfully) I could still order floormats, car cover and cargo net from the accy book? This looks like more fun than I'm looking forward to, but it should be worth it when it's done.
-
I'm confused on the having to shave the calipers... mine came with 15" rims not 16" rims.
-
I'm looking at the Rancho setup for the AC coils, three questions... 1) I have the hokey electronic shocks, will putting non electronic shocks eff up any of the computer stuff like ABS, etc? 2) Is there any way to get a better deal on shipping? $200 bucks to ship the kit? I ship all day everyday, not that much to ship... 3) Camber bolts? Did you buy?

What is required to run 32x11.50r15s on an r50
R3DN1CK replied to wickedss85's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Makes more sense now. -
Just stole me first 32 mounted on Legos and installed on left rear, fits good with stock springs. Used bottle jack to lift the axle tube as high as it would go stuffing it as hard as I could without actually wheeling it. Rear seems to be fine. Will still get the lift spacers or springs though. The fronts going to be fun, but I already had front wheel spacers on the WD21, so I'll probably jack those too and run these Legos.
-
Thanks for the heads up, I just ordered those rear links from ebay via TrueBlue... patiently waiting. What's up with the hardware, is there an issue with the non California ones? What's the "fluerys" 1.5 lift? Is that the molded spacer?
