  1. You just need the transmission, you can re use your transfer case.
  2. You know what is weird. The JDM engine I bought came with Denso spark plugs. I'm sure they were never changed as the motor only had about 30k on it. I replaced them with NGK plugs of course
  3. I like how you use the correct spark plug for the engine. Instead of most people on here who say "I installed autolite platinum plugs and it misfires and gets @!*% gas mileage". Buy a new/used engine. If the keyway is messed up any fix will just be a bandaid that you can't trust.
  4. That happened to me as well. Fried the dimmer switch when installing a radio that ended up being farked. I just got a used one from the JY. I actually have a spare around somewhere if you want it, for the price of shipping.
  5. The 94 cluster has some SLIGHT differences. Like I mean you would not notice unless you have them both side by side. Like I did, lol.
  6. Sounds like the torque converter to me. But it could be anything.
  7. Dennis has lots of experience with 20 year old condoms.
  8. I'll make it easy. If it has never been messed iwth it should be in that "tree" of connectors on the passenger side. 3 wires. It will have that wierd jacket o2 sensors have on them. Unplug it there, fire her up, and test drive it.
  9. Unplug the o2, and start the truck. If it runs better, you know that's what it is. If one plug is more rich like that, could be the injector is leaking. If it is, fix it quick or it will thin out your oil and wear down the cylinder walls.
  10. What about the timing? Distributor itself look like it was messed with at all?I would get a timing light and check. Timing belt could have jumped a tooth as well. It would run like a bag of @!*%, but it will run.
  11. Timing belt and water pump, all fluids, service the brakes, o2 sensor, clean the MAF sensor, new thermostat, and tension/strut rod bushings.
  12. Weathertech all the way. Husky is good too, but fit was not AS good in a 2000 pathfinder.
  13. Just find one from a 4wd.
  14. This is not one of those vehicles where the head gaskets just "go". It would take multiple severe overheats or running for years with water or never changing the coolant. They have 5 head bolts per cylinder!
  15. Yes the Valve Stem seals, while not "hard" to replace, there is a lot of things to take off. You could try some high mileage oil to see if it reduces it a bit. Otherwise nothing will fix it other than replacing them.
  16. Just throw a new (used) xterra transmission in there and be done with it. It will run you 400-800 dollars depending on where you source a trans but the truck will run forever afterwards.
  17. Did you check all the fuses in the fuse panel? One of them will kill the cruise, and it isn't even labelled so you wouldn't know. I would just check them all and go from there. There is a computer module in the rear drivers side you have to take the trim off to get to it.
  18. You can get a repair sleeve to fix the crankshaft. Why didn't they do that.
  19. I suppose if you buy the direct fit one you don't have to do this? My Xterra has a cabin filter but it would be nice for the WD.
  20. I think it is an error on the manufacturers part. There is only two cams and one crankshaft seal. My kit only came with two.
  21. Buy a new (used) transfer case, or buy a new truck. You never reuse old snap rings on u joints...for this reason lol. Good luck. I would personally just swap in a used T-case. Can probably do it in half a day.
  22. I just took a self tapping screw and went from the metal side into the rubber. Never had another problem. Normally I would not suggest hack fixes but removing bolts from the exhaust can be a pain.
