  1. Yep I had the same issue except i was leaning to the right. I used the jack that came with the truck and a jackstand, and 20 minutes later, she was level again. But you have to drive it around a bit to let it settle and then fine tune it. I've read on here that you have to get an alignment afterwards, is it necessary?.I didn't when I did mine, and everything looks and feels straight, no pulling or anything, I guess I got lucky
  2. And that is quieter than my exhaust ATM
  3. OMFG, now that i think of it, there was this gay kid in my high school, and guess what he drove.......a red jeep cherokee, probably early to mid 90's in good shape. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
  4. That would depend if you have manual hubs or not. As on the r50's they have full time drive splines IIRC, which means your front axle is always turning. Simon knows the correct term.
  5. They're currently working on putting these things on the highway I take to school everyday (for you ontarians, highway 416 and 417, which is the queensway) but I still see cops sitting there from time to time. But I've gone by them at 115kmh and 120kmh and never get pulled. I wonder what they'll set the cameras for My dad told me a couple weeks ago that he was on his way to work in his pathy when the light turned yellow, but it was too late to stop, and wow, he said that while he was in the middle of the intersection, he saw 2 flashes in his rear mirror. You'd think you'd get a little leeway
  6. I don't know about your speedo, but for number 2, if you're just accelerating normally, like not booking it or granny style, does the tach seem to waver back and forth and "surge" like you can feel it? I don't have trouble with hills but it sounds similar to my problem as it is also in the 2-3k range. For the record i have changed: -fuel filter -air filter -switched to synthetic oil -replaced throttle position sensor -replaced cracked egr tube -spark plugs are recent Does it do it all the time? Or just when its cold, or just when its hot? Mine does it only when warm.
  7. Or you have a problem like mine where no matter how much pb blaster, wd40, and jig a loo you spray on the wiper linkages, the wiper moves slow as hell and usually gets stuck and you have to help it back to its home, which it never goes too, just sits at the lower edge of the glass Took apart everything and lubed it up but So adding that wing was a BIG help. It pushes the rain off! Oh ya and when i bought this truck (95xe) it had 2 mudflaps, drivers rear and passenger's front. The front one is gone who knows where and the rear one is in my garage, because it was on fine and then i go out one morning to see that someone ripped it off
  8. Well the one i saw that was broken through the engine bay on mine was enough info to tell me where the problem was.
  9. You don't really have to pull anything apart, or at least I didn't. Step 1. Open hood Step 2. Look down the side of the engine. Step 3. Look really close to see if any studs are broken off Step 4. If no, , if yes, time to start saving, buy some good bolt extractors or just live with it. I can take some pics of mine if you want.
  10. Yeah after a few times of me freaking out on the people in the back seats because they were making me angry while i was driving, I no longer carry passengers, unless it's people from school. The ones from HS find other rides now since I want them to pay for gas, since its only fair right? To be honest though I don't think anyone who's ridden in my truck has really noticed the airflow from those things, i know they work, but I don't think its a HUGE deal to have them.
  11. hopefully not the same rust issues Yeah its kinda obvious that the X's are bigger eh.
  12. I guess you could, if you really care about your passengers that much. lol
  13. well even if you slide the seat all the way up you can't see where it ducts to. But i think it kinda takes a S turn and goes up along near the console.
  14. can't resist thats why he should check it him self....
  15. I would assume it runs off of the foot vents that are under the dash for the driver and front passengers feet.
  16. my moms bf has a 98 cavalier 5 speed, now has 300,000 kms, dunno what it is in miles. But it only had a water pump done on it. Its startin to rust, it has the 2.4 too i think. I still hate cavaliers no matter how much faster it is than my pathy.
  17. While your at the store mr moneybags, mind picking one up for me too! :tonguefinger:
  18. k if you look down beside the fender inside the engine bay, your in an automotive class, i assume you know where the manifolds are. You'll see the heat sheilds for them, more than likely the bolts for those have rusted away or broken off. Either way, take off the heat sheild, and it's obvious where the broken ones are. Optima makes good batteries, can't remember off the top of my head which is the deep cycle version.
  19. would be a really bad time to find out you have bad frame rot
  20. hopefully that isn't the problem......
  21. Also rewiring is good if you ever wanted to sell it, you can just throw the stock crap back in. My HU is running through the stock amps into my infinity's and they sound pretty darn good. Although, I get a lot of hissing, but i think its the panasonic deck the PO had installed. Yeah, make sure you keep that liner on the door.
  22. The ones around here are nice to you until they see how old you are on your drivers license......
  23. pics, as promised drivers side: passenger side, don't know why its so fugly like that. Just got the truck.
  24. Yeah when you have the bottom off, push up from the bottom, it should pop off, just be careful. oh and make sure you took off the door lock thing you push on to lock the door, near the window. It unscrews.
  25. sorry i've been busy with school, i keep just getting out of the truck and going into class and forget to take the pic, ill make sure and get it tomorrow. But i did check and there ARE air vents under the front seats!
