  1. Though I'd bring this back since I'm gonna have to do something about the rust as well. Maybe we should rename it the official rust fixes thread. I'll post some pic's of my rust and what I've got done tomorrow. I've just started lol.
  2. It's most likely an XE, which means originally you would have had 235 75 r15's (i have these) or possibly 215 something r15's.
  3. Just to make sure I read this right, they broke off the crossmember? Pics would help a great deal!
  4. Hell thats a tiny rust spot. Yeah cover the lines, cut out rust, put in new peice of metal (you could rivet one in) or fiberglass, yadda yadda yadda.
  5. I don't know about number 2 but I believe your first issue is due to the voltage regulator on the back of the cluster. And about the locks, might be the actuator, I've read that on hear before.
  6. It might just be the manifold leak....
  7. You should be able to, I don't know much about swapping motors but you might have to swap the flywheel I think (jj big shoe got it)??? Other than that I think they're pretty much the same. Are you planning on swapping trannys as well? If you do go ahead with it, it might be a good time to change the timing belt, water pump, and fix any leaks on the good motor, while you have it out I'm sure one of the veterans will chime in soon. LOL
  8. Make sure you clean ALL the coolant off where the belt is. Good luck
  9. Got that Idea from me didn't you, because I posted my vid on your wall haha. Maybe not so lucky, mine has that leak too and even though we put new gaskets in it still leaks, because the flanges were done. The shop said they could put 20 gaskets in there and it still wouldn't seal right. So they're getting me the new pipes.
  10. Go new all the way, don't get used or reman crap.
  11. That fine piece of machinery should be good for 300k more miles!
  12. Here if you spin your tires it's considered racing OPP
  13. CL can also be craigslist...
  14. Might not be your truck, I don't see any npora stickers on the rear windows, or did you remove them?
  15. If it has the shifter it's clearly a 4wd. 4x4 and 4 wheel drive are the same thing. I'd buy that truck, it looks real nice
  16. I don't think the bigger tires really have an affect, since they were an option from the factory. My 93SE has had it's 31's on the cast rims for 200k and it's steering is fine. My 95XE on the other hand has only 150k with the 235's and it needs new steering components, go figure I'm pretty sure most of the se trucks came with an lsd but you can easily check by jacking up the rear end (block the front wheels first!) and spinning one of the tires by hand. If they both go the same way it's an lsd. Or you can look for the orange sticker on the back of the diff.
  17. Dude, how much oil is your truck burning? I hope you don't hold it above 5k for long. Hell, most mine gets up to most days on the highway is 3.5k and then 2.2k once I'm up too speed. We get like 300 feet+ merging lanes
  18. Just for the record belt dressing is only a temporary solution. It shut my a/c belt up but then 2 days later the belt flew apart while i was on the way to a midterm exam. Needless to say I spent 45 minutes unraveling tiny strings of belt from my fan clutch and shaft, and drove it to a gas station and borrowed a knife. NOT fun in the cold Canadian winter!
  19. Yeah, that's why my friends love my truck. And the SE ones even have arm rests in the back!
  20. I'm a young driver too and learned to drive on stick r50, but I like the automatic for traffic. Also, the only trucks that i could find here that weren't trashed were auto's
  21. I found that it was easier for me to spin and loose traction in the mud or in the winter with the 5 speed. My automatic is way better for that. I really do want a 5 speed wd21 for on road though...
  22. It's for the whole "school year" which would be sept 2nd to april 30th (school actually ends 2 weeks earlier but its so you can go pick stuff up) Valet parking? I WISH! But it's pretty damn close to the building so in the winter I can't complain. I just drive my truck easier and it's getting better mpg.
  23. When school starts I'll be driving maybe 5 miles a day, so I'll probably bike, yet this parking pass did cost 500 so I might as well do it.
  24. Thats what I figured. All I really want is more side support
