I'm always told that if you don't change it for a long time and then you do, it can have bad effects. But when I got my 95, the fluid was BROWN and burnt. I had it flushed, and it seems to run just fine. I have about 18k miles on this fluid. Adding the external cooler is a good idea. I haven't done it yet, but will be in the future. If it runs fine now just get her flushed at a good shop or do it yourself, I had it done cause I didn't feel like getting covered in ATF or spilling half of it on the driveway ( always happens to me). I'm at 154k miles and it's running as good as a 13 year old trans should.

I was thinking out loud and stickwacking myself. My tires were low and my steering was hard, now the pressure is right and the steering is all good again. I'm we todd it

Oh THAT explains something. Durrr

Dude, 1 mile is 1.6km, you do the math. And everyone knows that it's 3k miles or 5k km for the standard oil change frequency.
-
Every 5000km for me. Although I might start doing 10,000km changes as it is 45 dollars for 4.4 liters of it

Trim makes a difference on insurance for me.

Yeah Simon that truck looked good, like no rust or anything from what i saw. What about the trans after the weekend
-
I saw this during the summer.
-
Nice, usually it's the other way around. Yeah, I can say pathy online, but in person I'll usually call it the path or something.
-
Well it worked. I didn't even see the bolt head, as there is SO much undercoating on there. I did have the weight off the truck too.

You sure there is no place that'll test it? Like where you bought it from. Most batteries have decent warranties on them. Don't want to waste money! Oh ya make sure you get the biggest battery (most cranking amps) that will fit. The 500cca amp one I had in my 93 temporarily could barely crank it over even if it was 5 degrees out.

Fixed that for ya The service manager here told me that they've NEVER heard of or seen the wd21 frame rot issue, OR The leaking fuel filler issue that my father had on his r50, they didn't even cover him under the recall!
-
Woah you guys used the bolt head at the bottom? I loosened the jam nut then cranked the other one with a wrench
-
When I first replaced the battery for my 93, one cold winters night killed it. Turns out it was bad, returned it and it has spent many more cold days (3 months actually) in the cold just fine. Just saying, even though it is new, it can still be bad. I see you live in canada, take the battery to canadian tire and they'll test it for ya.

I only got into offroading recently, before that I was so obsessive about the paintjob (still am) but it all started when i plowed through a snowbank getting onto the highway that was the most fun I've had in so long. Yeah they plowed the highway, but not the on ramp Tree huggers can hang themselves in the trees.

Then again my truck is completly stock. Don't know about jpawela

Mine was doing this and it turned out that my original cat's were clogged AND my o2 sensor is shot. I have a new cat and still running the old 02 (don't have any cash right now) its a bit sluggish on acceleration but once it is on the highway it'll stay locked in OD. How is your gas mileage? I know these aren't great on gas, but you should get at least 320 miles to a tank. Depends on how you drive though. Unplug your o2 sensor and see if it runs any better.

All I can say is that with Co-operators here in Canada (my path isn't in my name) it is 465 a year for my truck. But that's with a second vehicle discount and zero claims ever. If I were to go on my own BASIC coverage would cost me 5600 and with collision it'd be 7200 a year.

Hey guys, just after repairing the two rust holes under my rear seat, I've noticed that on the side where I could see the muffler it is getting somewhat hot under the rear seat. Is there supposed to be some kind of heat shield under there? Or is it nothing to worry about. It isn't like scorching, but it is quite warm to the touch. Also I noticed that when they put my new cat on, it burned off all the under coating in the area. Can I re-undercoat it and not have it come off again, or did they put the cat too close to the body? It was a universal cat fyi. Thanks a lot!

You let dogs in your truck I will never let an animal inside mine, ever. It's looking REAL good mike. Hopefully I'll be down there sometime in the near future and can check it out!
-
Well I managed to do it, although I was sore after
-
I was told the best way is to, unless you're not strong enough (no offense), do it with the truck on the ground, so you don't have to do it again after it settles and you don't like the height.
-
Yup and the adjusters are on the crossmember in the middle of the truck if your looking at it from the side standing up. IIRC you need two 19mm wrenches.
-
Your torsion bars have sagged, though I think most wd21's were higher in the back anyway. You can adjust them. There is a thread in the garage.

nice we have a new max
