I think the new tree hugger (read environmentally friendly) windex contains no ammonia. But it also sucks at cleaning glass now.
-
Lots and lots of PB blaster, wd40, slurp (my personal favorite). Let them soak for a bit. It's way easier if you have air.
-
I also find that they have no side support so when you take a turn, I find my back sliding off the seat, and it's very annoying on the highway.
-
Yeah my XE ones suck balls too. After being in my 93's SE leather, I want the SE seats in the XE. Might wanna track down some SE cloth seats, or ever better the leather ones
-
Stock pathys will out wheel a stock blazer too, even with me driving! (My friend and I went wheeling with my 93 in his back yard, had to pull out blazer/jimmy twice.....) Glad to see the truck and you are ok.
-
how did you like those tires? I was thinking of getting a set for my winter tires on the chrome rims. Canadian tire has a special on them now....
-
It also degrades and cracks over time, IIRC my father had to replace it on my 93.

245/75/r16 is the stock size on a 00 r50. And yes you can get the duelers in that size, my dad has them. We got them from Tire Rack

Fsckers! -
Same thing just happened to me, except mine was also disconnected from the swaybar too, so now it's just hanging by the ebrake cable, you can see it without even looking under neath. I'm taking it to get re welded. I was told by a mechanic (he checked the frame) it's safe to drive for now though.

That looks like both my trucks put together!!

You can buy the monroe sensatracs from Canadian tire but if you wheel them much they won't last long. But, they do have a lifetime warranty!

Power steering pump isn't electrical bud

What is that other vehicle in your garage? Another project?

It was at night and in winter for me, so I had lights, defogger on etc NOT FUN!. Yeah on my 93, when the battery was flaking out, the battery light was always on, I knew something was wrong, I just had to move it to the other side of driveway, but I got maybe 20 feet before it shut off when I hit the brakes lol.
-
I thought that "Reserve time" was supposed to be for if you left your lights on, or if you were having a tailgate party and running the stereo and/or a 12v cooler or something. When my alternator belt was slipping so bad that I got those lights, the battery didn't last long and it was brand new! I stopped at a light and it stalled and wouldn't crank again.

I drove the truck to my grandpas today for the timing belt, and it seemed to handle fine on the road.....But once it's fixed I'm buying new rear links
-
So I was under there today looking at things, and I couldn't find any "soft spots" When my moms bf got home he looked at it, and we realized, the weld itself actually broke! He saw the disconnected stabilizer and said that because of all the crap roads around here, it must have hit at the wrong angle or something, because my frame is solid otherwise. It was undercoated like every year until 2005. I'm gonna get it welded (fuel lines are in the way, don't want to mess with that) replace the link and scrape away all the loose undercoating, sand down the rust, spray paint it, and then have the whole truck rust proofed with the highest level undercoating. I'm thinking I'll either get it krowned or take it to metropolitan rust proofing.

I'm all for saving money, but those "go green" tree huggers ( my uncle is a huge one, hates that my dad and I drive an suv) really piss me off when they shove "TAKE THE BUS" down your throat. I live just outside the city, so there IS NO bus service. Not directed at you, but I had to put my opinion out there. Everyone lives in different circumstances, so while the bus make work great for them, it doesn't work so well for others. And sure I could buy a little car, but in the winter, they hardly plow the roads here, so most people drive cars in the summer and 4x4's in the winter, because if you drive a little civic here in the winter, and it snows more than 15 cm, you aren't going to work in the morning. -
Hmm, well i have no idea how long it's been like that, I just noticed it today. I don't trust my welding enough so I'm gunna have to fork out some cash for more repairs.....At least I fixed the body rust myself. I vow that I WILL take it camping on the 30th of june. It's always been like that......both my trucks.
-
I spent the better part of 2 hours doing that, and it's all solid, its like......it snapped off somehow. Is it possible that I hit THAT big of a pothole? The roads here are so bad that I hardly drive around anymore anyways.
-
Ok, well I just drove it over to a local shop, and the guy crawled under there for a bit and looked around, he said that it's just my stabilizer link mount and that it's not important. He said that the frame was still solid and that I must have hit one hell of a pot hole for that to have happened. He also said that if I feel comfortable with the way it drives now, that I should just remove the rear sway bar. I could weld that piece on myself (with my crappy 70amp welder?), but those fuel lines are awfully close... My friends brother just opened a garage, so I'm gonna get his opinion and maybe I can get a deal on fixing it. Oh ya Simon, I cleared the injector leak code yesterday, and today I took off the dist cap and it was all clean and fine under there, rotor looked good too. It seemed to run fine on the way to the garage...
-
So I was poking around under my truck and saw this I checked the rest of the frame and it is either solid, or covered in undercoating. Suggestions? Should I repair?, or Just get rid of this thing... Maybe this had something to do with it? Close up The rest of the truck underneath is in great shape
