Mine was doing that and then it stopped working all together but after removing and cleaning up the brushes it works fine and is silent again.

Wow...Its not that hard to get at, at all. I've gotten so used to doing oil changes on the pathy that I can do it in 5 minutes and know how much to pour out of the 4.4L jug just by eying it... Also if you don't want your starter to take a bath make sure you don't tilt the filter down when you remove it...easy.

I was just being sarcastic. If your spark plug wires look pretty old I would just change them anyways. Wouldn't be surprised if they were original.

Yeah, go for a drive and turn the OD off at 50mph and see if it jumps up. Its possible that your torque converter isn't locking up because the truck doesn't have enough power to turn the tires under load in such a high gear.

No your glow plugs...

When the OD light is on that means the OD is OFF. Also replace the filter don't bother cleaning it. It's only 20 dollars or so for a new one.

96 Pathfinder - Dies In Dr Or Rev Not Park Or Nuetral
adamzan replied to 513mugsy914's topic in The Garage
What happens if you put it in gear and then give it gas will it still die? -
On my original exhaust I noticed that it was cut and welded on both sides of the tranny pan, I guess whoever was in there last got lazy.

If you can get the broken part of the key out of the ignition the locksmith can make you a new key from it.

Ok, here is an update. I replaced the front brake calipers, rear brake drums (chunks of mine kept coming off and the parts truck had 2 like new ones, so I machined them) and bled the entire system. I can stop pretty damn good now! But I do have one concern. The pain on the booster right below the master cylinder is all peeled off and there is rust under there. I'm not concerned about the rust but the fact that this area was wet. I am not losing any more fluid so far. Also I noticed that there is a hole in the MC right in between 2 of the lines that was wet, and bubbles were coming out of it while I did the bleeding, what is that for?

Shocks, tension rod bushings, swaybar links, steering components. I've found on these trucks if one little thing is loose the whole front end feels loosey goosey.

If it were me I'd buy it. I'd love to have a 2 door.

95 Pathfinder Runs 3K Rpm Doing...
adamzan replied to ac92pathfinder's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
No, you will be fine. I try to avoid the highways here because when I have to pass someone I usually have to take out OD and have it rev at like 3700rpms! I drove down to toronto once going 130km/h the whole way, with 4.6 gears and 235 75 15 tires i was revving about 3100. Actually got better mileage than when I do 100km/h at 2500rpms. With the 31's now it revs at like 2200ish at 100km/h. I can do almost 140km/h while keeping it under three grand. -
There is a filter, it looks like this: It's only around 20 dollars, may as well replace it.
-
Try wiggling the maf sensor wires then rev it.
-
Not to go off topic but where did you find a "new" alternator in ontario? All I could ever find was rebuilt @!*%.
-
I believe Simon has the same issue as you. Saw him post about it somewhere.
-
Can you do me a favour and post a pic of where you're talking about? I'm having a wet carpet issue and would really like to fix it.
-
I got mine fixed in the summer too, by a bodyshop even and it's still wet. I'm not too happy! I was thinking it might have been from a wheeling trip as the water when 4 inches above the bottom of the doors but I'm not sure. Makes the truck stink!

My 95 wd21 has non sagging rear suspension and stock tires that didn't blow up! On both sides! Must have been a japanese manufacturer thing. Sorry, I just had to.

Power seats just piss me off. On our maxima, the steering wheel moves in and up and the seat moves back when you're getting out. I thought "when I'm almost out, it pulls me back in!" Plus I'm the only one who drives my truck so its not like they get moved. My SE interior I swapped in has a heated drivers seat like simons old truck. Passengers are jealous!

I think I blew one of mine up last weekend, my friend needed to be pulled out of a predicament and I put it in 4x4 and reversed a few feet because I was pulling from the front. Anyway, when I tried to pull him only the rear tires moved but the front cv was moving but no 4x4. So I decided just to tug him a bit. Low and behold when my truck was spinning a bit all I heard was click X203423 and BANG it was in 4x4, for about 2 minutes lol.

Better than my friends volkswagen jetta that has a 90hp engine. Now THAT is gutless.

Is your tailpipe black? Also I've gotten that injector leak code before but after doing the o2 and cleaning the maf, and changing the cat's it never came back.

Couldn't you just register your truck in the system then put another truck (preferably r50) on the machine?
