  1. Finally got around to trying to diagnose this issue.... Took the fan apart. Weirdest thing, once I had the fan shroud off and the fan was exposed it wouldn't make the noise. I ran it at all speeds and it was virtually silent. Leads me to beleive the squeak/rattle is somewhere else. Anyhow, cleaned it up, gave it a good dose of WD and put it back together. Any other tips would be most appreciated. Cheers
  2. is still searching for his weekend wheeler... 87-89 Pathy's are hard to find!

  3. Sounds like the Mass Air Flow sensor. I had mine done and it sounds as if is the same diagnosis. Make sure they re-program everything once they put the new MAF in. Mine didn't run right until they took my truck back in.
  4. Hi all, My 2001 Finder has developed a super annoying heater/airconditioner fan squeek. Anyone know of a related thread in here or a do it yourself fix. Sounds like the squeek is coming from around the glove box area? Cheers
  5. Took your advice and went back with a hammer.... Don't quite know. Frame behind the rear tires sounds solid but looks like @!*%! I might have to walk away from this one....
  6. Thanks. its a manual so I will check that stuff while I am there. If the axles are done what should I be listeng for?
  7. Ok guys, Here it goes. I have been in the market for a used 2 door Pathy and have finally found one. However, I have some questions to ask about this model (which I should have asked before). I have previewed the truck and for the most part it looks solid. Rust below the doors is pretty bad, haven't looked at the frame. He has replaced the rad, replaced the shocks on all 4 corners, pretty good rubber (which will be scrapped for larger M/T's) and it runs fine. Going from pretty much a mint, unabused 2001 Pathfinder LE, I am in the dark as to what I should keep my eye out for when I get it out for a test drive. Other than the typical 4 low, turning from lock to lock, figure eight circle they encourage you to do during a test drive, what else should I do? What are some trouble spots that I should be aware of on this model year? Please help!
  8. I saw that you sneaked a peak at my profile so I thought I'd say a few words so here goes: popycock, hijinx, pussywillow, medulla oblongata, anterolateral sulcus

  9. Anyone encountered this problem...? Drivers side power window has quit on a 87 Finder I am looking to buy. Its been diving, slipping and slowing down for the last 3/4 years I guess. - How would I know if the motor is shot? - Is there a way to eliminate the power option and go to a manual crank? Its not a big deal really....Just lookin to see if there is an easy fix
  10. Awesome...thanks! I've heard that the plastic peice doesn't come off easily if has never been removed before. Cheers!
  11. Well...she did it. My wife got a CD stuck in the 6 disc changer in my Pathfinder. I pulled the stereo removal instructions off of a web-site....but I thought I'd ask if anyone has done it themselves. Anything I should be careful with.....tools you recommend?
  12. Wow...this is wicked! I had the air sensor replaced by a Nissan Dealership here in Edmonton, AB. I'll take both of these recommendations and let you know how I make out. Thanks again!
  13. Please tell me someone else had run into a wonky idle with their 2001 Nissan Pathfinder. I have had the mass air flow sensor replaced recently and it seems as if the issue has crept up since then. The weird thing is, I only run into problems when its 20 degrees celsius or warmer? The truck will run just fine and then it will all of the sudden the rpm's will increase. It doesn't impact my driving, its when I'm sitting at a red light or shifting out of drive into reverse that I get a little concerned. Rev's will fluctuate from 1250 - 3000 when sitting in neutral, when sitting in gear it will rev around 1000. Typically the truck will idle at 750 or so? Solutions?
