I haven't done it yet, it is about 4 months old though. The reason I haven't done it yet is because I got the code for o2 sensor before and when I replaced it, the code came back a little while later. I thought the computer was just nuts or I didn't clear the code properly. Then it came back again...So either there is a problem with the new o2 or something is wrong and triggering the o2 code.

Ok well whatever was causing this has failed completely...It is not the tranny. On thursday night I was driving home from brandons house and about 1km from my place it started missing real bad and had no guts. I bought a new cap and rotor and spark plugs and replaced them. It drove a lot better but as soon as it warmed up enough it started again. It is not as bad with the new plugs though. I thought the timing belt had slipped but then again wouldn't it run bad all the time if that was the case? I find if I am VERY easy on the throttle it won't do it. And somewhere over 3k it will go away sometimes. If you put any load on the motor it will do this. I checked the codes and got 55 no malfunction... I checked the coolant sensor and the maf and they are both within the specs in the FSM when the truck is warmed. My plugs were white which apparently means running lean. I know I shouldn't have done this but if you floor it, it will pickup really nice after 3k and go all the way to 6k, and it doesn't seem to hesitate while doing it.

I can almost guarantee that it is the tach itself. This is very common on the 94-95 pathfinders.

Lol My dad did the same thing on the 93 when it was his. Just until he could get it into the shop to have the brakes done. The rotors aren't that hard to do and you may as well change pads and rotors they don't cost that much.

I'm sorry but I would rather not leave my truck in the middle of nowhere especially in some areas here where if you leave it over night it won't be there the next morning.

I find my truck starts up way easier with the synthetic...I buy the canadian tire brand anyways. It gets pretty cold here.

For what its worth I put synthetic in my pathy at 125k miles and it had the original (as far as I know) cam/crank/rear main seals and it didn't leak and still isn't, knock on wood.

My monroe front shocks lasted 40k kms. I put oem ones from the parts truck that had over 200k kms that work like new...

KYB GR-2 are a really good value for the r50.

I know it's not ideal but if you've got nothing else but a chain you gotta use what you have!

Least you don't have my problem where you hold the rear washer pump on and it starts dripping onto the rear drivers passenger!

My friend just had a similar issue on his vw jetta and it was the coolant temp sensor. It would go nuts thinking the car was overheating when it warmed up in really cold weather and cut fuel to it.

Considering the truck is 20 years old it probably is the starter.

I told you that you could have the starter from the parts truck!

You noticed that too? I'm on my oem starter and it has sounded the same since I bought it but I know a few people who've replaced theirs and now it sounds like a VG33 r50, much quieter and softer sounding lol.

Yes it could come apart. When my dad first bought his r50, not long after he picked it up at the dealer it was making a funny noise under the hood. He brought it back a couple times and they finally found the harmonic balancer rubber insert was worn. The mechanic said he's seen it happen once and it came off, something punctured the rad, snapped almost every blade off the fan, a nasty mess!

I was just using the stuff that is in the washer fluid...

RainX also makes me furious at night. If the wiper blades aren't brand new it will leave a film every time you wipe.

This looks awesome. I want an r50 now! Btw for the rear discs could you not steal a set off a WD21 pathfinder maybe? Since the rear axles are the same (pretty sure) it should fit, right?
