I would change all the fluids: tranny, engine, front and rear differential, and transfer case. Add an external transmission cooler and bypass the stock one, it is known to clog and burn out the trans. I run 5w50 in the summer in mine and 5w30 in the winter, though I live in Canada and it gets really cold here. I run full synthetic. Clean your k&n, I've had no issues with mine. Find out when the timing belt was last replaced, your interval is every 60k miles. If it breaks, the engine is toast pretty much. If things under the hood look untouched it might be a good idea to give it a tune up, plugs, wires and cap/rotor. Check the front end for play and if necessary replace any worn items and check the wheel bearings, repack and adjust them if they need it. Depending on where the truck was from, check the rear frame rails for rot, it is a very common problem. As for the tires your truck probably came with small tires from the factory, and someone put 31"x10.5 on instead, it is pretty common to see. That would throw off your speedometer. If I have missed anything I'm sure others will chime in. Like you it is my only car, I do wheel it but lightly for the time being until I can get my other pathfinder on the road, yes it is an addiction! I'm sure you will find all the info you need here!

Yeah mine didn't have that extended panel. It just had some leather cover over the jack and a cover that matched the carpet over the tire itself....

Temp gauge could be the sensor under the hood, there are 2 one for the ecu and one for the gauge. Also could be in the cluster itself. More than likely some of the manifold studs are broken...You can leave it the way it is now but it could get worse in the future.

Not really if you consider that some of the older pathfinders were around that rpm range to do 120km/h in 5th gear.

I have no idea if this will make it worse or not but I would try to line up the timing marks (rotate engine by hand! Don't use the starter) and see if the belt has slipped...Also when it started ticking did it lose a lot of power?

What do you mean? I was referring to the low fuel light. Sometimes I've had it come on just under 1/4 tank

It is fixed now. I replaced the o2 sensor, spark plugs, spark plug wires and put 2 bottles of injector cleaner in the gas tank. Seems to be running well. I've driven about 400kms and its driving alright but still crappy gas mileage, something I usually never complain about but i got like 420km to just a hair over the E bar. No light yet though.

Try opening and closing your rear glass, sometimes the switch on mine sticks and it won't work. Also try lubing it where it comes out of the hatch as it could be seizing.

I know on my 95 SE the door plate states 26PSI for 31x10.5 tires.

I have Some universal michelin floor mats, they are strong but they aren't wide enough so I just got another floor mat and have 2 on the drivers side.

actually I find the gas gauge on pathfinders (wd's AND r50s) reads lower than it actually is. Considering the tank is 80 liters, so 1/4 is 20 liters, I filled up at exactly 3/4s and it only took 15. When its at exactly half I can usually get 35-37 liters in. Just remember you have to fill up, drive, fill up again and divide miles by gallons put in.

I switched from conventional oil to synthetic and it runs great. I've see as high as 23mpg on the highway in the summer with 5w30. No way in hell I would put 0w30 in my pathfinder.

What I did temporarily was stuff a rag down there from the inside so nothing could hit the tail light wiring. Though my holes were only a little bit bigger than my thumb.

It is a 2001 so it will have a timing chain and not a belt. For the squealing nismo is right try some belt dressing and if it goes away then you probably need to adjust or replace the belt. No big deal. I don't know anything about transmissions other than how to use them so I can't help you there. The weatherstripping is easy to replace but very expensive and last time I priced it out you could only get it from the dealer. I would just remove the step bars to be honest.

They charge you 105 an hour for labor?? With removal and install it will cost like 400 bucks lol
