  1. I'd imagine so on the emissions, but like you said, it's just speculation, and has been hard tested by any one yet. Summit does have the boxes on sale, but it's only an $8 rebate. These Guys have the whole kit (box and wires) for cheeper. Also, the Taylor wires from summit are back ordered, so you'd have to wait a couple weeks before they are even shipped. Just a few penny saving tips for those who are interested.
  2. Ohhh I found my favorite: Check out the gut on the guy in the left..... Thats dead sexy!
  3. Looks good, thanks for the info. If any one needs a hood, it looks like they have some smoke deals on brand spankin new hoods anoung other things.
  4. I really like that color on a Pathy and am trying to figure out what year Nissan brought it out. From what I can tell, it looks to be about 93 or 94 from the rig I have seen with that scheme. Thanks to any one who comes up with a definative answer. Buh-Bye.
  5. LOLOLOL, from their site, 1st link Estimated Installation Time 4 hours HAHAHAHAHA, yeah right. Only 4 hours to pull T bars and reinstall, then index, then reindex cause you did too little, then the rear? I think not. Maybe 6
  6. I'm definately for the slush fund idea. I have yet to meet Mr. Jim, however, Aaron is not only very informative, but one of the most helpful people I have ever met, even if he is a little funny looking. In all seriousness, if these guys need a hand, I'd be more than happy to kick down what I can. I'm not totaly sure I like the idea of membership fees, as it may turn away some of the less frequenting members. If I had to I would though, as I do enjoy this community very much, and also, I like the idea that you have to have a little incentive to post in the for sale section. So be it, which ever way it goes, let me know where to send it, and to whom it's going to, and it will be done. No questions asked for those two, or the betterment of this family. MM
  7. awwww Another popularity contest I didn't win.......... CRAP!
  8. Call me old, but a good single malt Scotch Whiskey. Faves inclue Dewar's 15 year old, Glenlivet 18 year old, and when I have the cash a bit of Jonny Walker Blue label. $250 a bottle though makes the last one a rare occasion.
  9. If you do have spark, the injectors could be air locked. Not usualy a problem but can happen if you run her out of gas. BYW this is assuming you have a MFI engine not TBI, but well, I guess that would be the same.
  10. Yeah I did too, but I actualy had a PM. It opened and read just fine, it was just the rename instead of the regular NPORA.
  11. mws, which Optima's are you talking about in your research. I know the red tops are not known for their amp/ hour longevity, but the deep cycle yellow tops are far better. I do not know their number off the top of my head, but I will definately look into it and get back to you. M.M.
  12. Wow I got a vote and it wasn't me. I wonder who my secret admirer is.......
  13. The output of an alternator has to do with it's windings. You can find a reputable shop that knows its stuff about alternators, and rewind it for you to get the desired output. 110A on the Quest is good for most general stuff; Stereo, extra lights, etc. I'd search around in your local yellow pages and call to talk to your local guys before you go searching around. The ones AC sells are just rewound Pathy Alts.
  14. Just remember; Power = Voltage x Current P=VI Power = Voltage^2 / Resistance P=V^2/R Power = Current^2 x resistance P=I^2R By having small wires, you increase the current through them. Think of them as a pipe. The bigger the pipe, the more flow thay can handle. As a matter of fact, think of the whole system as a pipe, like this; Resistance is the size of the pipe Current is the flow through the pipe and Voltage is the pressure in the pipe. They all effect each other, and if you change one, the rest must be changed to get the same output.
  15. Got it too, glad to see 88 finally got off his butt and did somethin 'bout it.
  16. Hey welcome back around. Good to see the mass Email reached it's intended targets. You'll notice the board had grown quite a bit since you've last been around.
  17. Thorley's. I have em and love em, and from what I hear, the pacesetter's look like they gave a kid in Mexico a stick welder and said "have at it". The winch option has been debated back and forth across the relm. The hydraulic definately has it advantages and disadvantages. For one, it is able to produce greater pulling power at less effort, as it run off your power steering pump. This disadvantage is that you motor HAS to be running for it to operate. So if you are stuck in a mud puddle or a river crossing, you are SOL. The electrics do not put out as much power in as small as a package, but, as prior mentioned, they can run without the rig running. Granted, this is for a short time, but it might be enough to get you out of what you are stuck in. Overall, this is the route I am planning, and I have considered it carefully. I already have done the Quest alternator swap, so a charge isn't a problem, and I am planning on uprading to a set up of dual yellot top Optima battiers. This set up has it's advantages, as, I can run with the engine off, for a longer period of time than stock. The higher output of the alt means the deep cycle batteries will get plenty of charge, and they have tons of CCA (a pair at 1500) to run a winch running, even at idle. This set up seems the best to me, but like I said there are those who will swear by they hydraulics, and others by the electric. Do your research and figure out which will suit you best.
  18. It's about a 1/2 to full case of beer job, depends on how fast you work.
  19. yup, Fun times. The first time I pulled my motor it took me three days. The second, 4 hours. It's just figuring out how everything comes apart. How did you enjoy those bolts on the top of the bell housing? Fun huh?
  20. Gulp, I'll di it!!!!!!! I can swat down a$$hattery with the best of em. Otherwise I nominate Pezzy or mzxtreme
  21. Just drive over to any exhaust shop in town that sells flowmaster's. The guy has more than likely seen enough of em that he can just look underneath and tell ya which one ya need. Thats what I did, and It's been perfect.
  22. *bows out* hehe, I'm wrong. See I can admit that. I just called Calmini. The guy on the phone said it was commin out very very soon, they are just finalizing the pics and what not to put up on the site. I asked about price, and he didn't give me a direct price, but he did say it was going to be considerably cheeper than the X. This is due to the regular hangers as opposed to coil overs of the X's. So yes Filthy, you are right.
