  1. The kid that rear ended me about a week and a half ago, make that two weeks ago, his insurance company wants to total my Pathfinder. I had a few estimates done and they ranged from 4200 to 3300. The kid's insurance company view the vehicle damages as 70% over the total value. I have spent the past few days calling company's that I have oredered parts and such from to increase the value so they do not do this. I realize this total is not any where what I value the my truck, so even if they do total it, I plan to buy the salvage rights. Any how, just thought I'd rant for a minute, this crap has been drivin me crazy for the past week, and I had to vent. Which is also why you haven't heard from me for a few days. M.M.
  2. So be it, I have the money, I think I'm just Gonna go for the Calmini kit and pay for the install, plus I'm paying for peace of mind. Gonna go order right now....
  3. 88 with all those replacements of the steering components, would a serious upgrade such as the Camini kit be woth the money? I understand the type of playing we do is hard on parts, and I'm sure a majority of the components on mine are more than worn, and need replacement. Sounds like you would have an idea, how much would a standard rebuild cost vs the Calamini kit?
  4. I personally run Eclipse. A few years old, but still is better than most decks out there if run with Eclipse components, in my opinion, but then again, its a poll
  5. I had a similar problem a while back. Bent tie rods. She drove sraight for the most part, but that "follow up" after a turn and the desire to track straightwas far from atainable. A trip to a good alignment shop will take care of this, just be sure to let them know what is happening, and let then test drive it if necessary. M.M.
  6. Ok, ever since I went wheelin the other day, the steering has been actin funny. She has had a slight alighnment problem nice I lifted her, but I just chalked that up to the poor fit of the AC upper arms. Now, the driver side is ridin lower that the right, however, I adjusted the T-bar to even that out, but now, the D side is riding on the upper A arm bump stop, with a solid 1/2 still on the passenger side. Every time I hit any bump in the road, the wheel wobbles back and forth, and requires a conscience effort to keep her trackin straight. A steering stabilizer is waiting for me in Cali, however, I feel there is more to this problem that just that. Tomarrow, I will let both sides down a bit, re-index if I have to, but does this sound like worn steering components? Also, the front tires seem to fight each other when in 4wd, and there is a definate rubber sound when accelerating. They seem to try to go in different directions, not sure if toe-ing in or out. Might be mud still stuck in the hub, haven't looked yet, but is this even a possiblity? Do not like it at all, and well an whole revamp of the forward end might be in the works soon, as finances allow. Any advice/ insight/ experience/ options are welcome at this point. M.M.
  7. What ever you do, do NOT get the AC arms. I have them, hate them, and am kickin myself in the arse for goin with the cheeper item. If you want a full detail, its in one of my prior posts, but, I made the mistake, hopefuly I can warn others. And yes, not from experience, but from what I have heard, you get what you pay for with the Calmini items.
  8. Ok, went wheelin the other day, got pretty stuck in the mud, and toasted my thermostat relay for my electric cooling fan. What I want to do now, instead of the thermo, I'd like to wire it so it comes on when the ignition is on, ie, the motor is running. Any one know off the top of thier heads a good place under the bonnet to do this? My volt meter is arcaic, and a little direction would save me alot of time. Thanks. M.M.

  10. Ok, np, you up for this weekend? Preferably Friday, but I can do Saturday as well.
  11. Yah, goin tomarrow for sure, gonna leave from my place early, meeting a friend @ 0700 and goin to Evan's Creek. Gimme a holler if ya still want to come.
  12. Thank you very much. Like I said it's not hard to install at all, it's just two sheet metal screws holding it in place. I'm kinda a neat freak, so I cleaned things up a bit and put shrink wrap on the terminations etc taking a bit longer. M.M.
  13. Sounds like Weds, me and a buddy or two might head up to Reiter's. I'm in West Seattle, so Kent is right on the way. I'll let you know asap. M.M.
  14. Here's a close up Left side, top to bottom: Radiator fan, Speaker amp, Sub woofer amp Right side: Piaa's Bottom middle: Power lead commin in
  15. Ok, borrowed Dad's camera. I moved my Piaa relay towards the back and moved another realy down a bit to make room.
  16. Got the block at Schuck's auto, paid like 8 bucks for it is all, had the fuses lyin around. I'll see if I can dig up a camera real quick.
  17. Thats the one. Thanks a bunch
  18. Home from my travels abroad, and brought the pathy back home to Seattle from Cali. Any one want to go wheelin towards the end of next week (19-21 ish). Gimme a holler, lets get dirty.
  19. Well for the longest time, I just had two amp power cables runnin from the pos. lead, but the addition of an electric fan and piaa's quickly cluttered that up. Finaly broke down and bought the block, ran a nice 8 guage wire to it, and really cleaned things up in that area nicely. If any one is thinkin about doin the same, I'd recomend takin the few hours to do it. Really makes for a nice install, and peace of mind at that. M.M.
  20. Yah Tri-Cities Washington, not a very nice place.
  21. Not sure how many of us out there are original owners of our Pathy's but this is something you all may understand. BTW, bought mine used. Just another day of turnin wrenches, cleaning, and foolin around on her. As some of you may know, I have been having a problem with the door locks popping out of place, in both directions. In an attempt to locate the origin of this problem, I started with the driver door, took the panel off, and began snooping around. Now since I bought her, the driver side keyway has been a bit loose towards the bottom, and you could move it around a bit. This resulted in a bit of play in the linkage and once inspected from the inside, the bottom tab was broken off. Inspection of the passenger side showed top and bottom tabs intact. OK no problem so far, did a quick fix, tightened things up, locks seem to be working fine. As I was putting the panel back on, I noticed shards of glass in the inner lip of the panel, just under the window. There were about 12 of them or so, about the size of match heads. Now periodicalyin the past while cleaning the interior, I had found similar pieces, but never thought much of them. Now with this toolin around, I figure while the previous owner had it, some one tried poppin the outter door lock from the bottom to no sucess, and just bashed the window in. Dunno if it was stolen or just robbed, kinda makes me want to check it out further. Or just let it go, its mine now. On a side note, the previous owner was from the Tri Cities area, so this theory makes even more sense. Heh, the funny things you find.
  22. I'l vouch for the JB weld as well, and as prior stated, if mixed right, will do an excellent job of holding whatever you need. Great stuff. M.M.
  23. Or you can do a deposit type thing, so you're not sittin there waiting. That costs a bit more of course.
  24. I had a link I got off these boards, but alas, I'm not on my computer, and was trying to look up some parts. It was a link to a search database which gave you junkyards in whatever area you wanted, prices for most, and phone numbers/ email addys. If any has this in thier favorites, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks, M.M.
  25. Ok similar question, I picked up a piaa light and am plannin on using it for an aux back up light. Same idea than I'd assume, relay it.
