  1. Ok, but mark my words, I bet it's still gonna be $1600+
  2. Thats good news. A company like Calmini doesn't rush things, hence the long wait. Coilover would be nice, but I think it would take ALOT more welding to the Pathy to make it fit, as their kit is strickly bolt on with the exception of welding the hangers on the axel. Also, having bought Calmini products before, I can say this: I don't think it's gonna be too much cheeper than the xTerra one, sorry to say. It's Calmini; It's Great............great but expensive.
  3. Here are somew pics of mine. The first pic is how they are supposed to be tucked. My one anchor hangs down due to a spung T-bar, but thats probly the way yours were before they got greased by a rock. Good Anchor: Droopy:
  4. I'll check into it. I know a couple of guys at work who know the area pretty well, and do some wheelin. I ask for a spot with a rig with 31's that rub just for you Slick.
  5. Thats pretty dang good. I amazed myself this summer when I made it from 88's place in Salem all the way to Redding, CA on one tank. It was about 420 miles total, and she only took 19.5 gallons, so I still had a bit left. I agree, amazing what a bit of tune up can do.
  6. Good write up LowRider, I think I see a series starting. Keep up the humor.
  7. I see. I have been around for a bit, but no where near the begining. I had a taste of Mr. Jim's vision, if you will, just before things went south for him and he took his sabattical. For a time I wondered why he didn't come back, and now, with all that has been said in this post, it has become slightly more apparent. He may not want to come back. For the exact reasons you stated. He started this joint as a dream that he had, and wanted to share it with others. Yes you are right. It definately is a much different place than when I first came to it. Sure I have "POHO'd" it up from time to time. I also have learned so much from this last year by checking this forum almost everyday. The little tid bits by old and new alike are very useful, but yes, once again, you have a strong point. It is lacking that luster of those who started it all. Mr. P is still around, 88's on a time out due to life (he'll be back, I guantee it), Mookie pops in every now and then, but yes, where are the rest? Can't answer for sure, but I'm sure they haven't forgotten about the place.
  8. SO then we are letting this die? Just checkin. "Why go to bed mad when you can stay up and argue?"
  9. Slick, if you are thinkin what I am, we need to have a meet in our little corner of the People's Republic of California. I've alreadu hung out with B a couple of times, but I guess I could put up with him one more.....
  10. Sounds like you have a plan. Good luck with that, if you have any hick ups, let me know, and I'll see if I can help.
  11. Ok, I see your point a bit more clearly, and yes, your main point has been strayed from within the replys. So lets see if I can get this straight. You are interested in bringing back the older members of the forum/ club into activity, and you feel some of the drawl that goes on within posts has no contributing effect to this, and has almost become the main focus of a majority of posts. Do I have that right? As far as my comment on mods goes, I never mentioned negative response to mods. My complaint is with what you view as a mod. We have gotten into this before, and sure airring down you tires is mod, as cranking the T bars is a mod. Feedback is always going to be there, positive or negative, especially if you are posting it all over the internet. Some one some where is not going to like it, think they could have done it better, or just feel like they need to disagree. Thats fine, I have zero problems with that. I have gotten a ton of crap for things I have done too, not just to my truck, but other things as well. I also agree that neg feedback can be good as well, I never said it wasn't. Once again, we can run in circles with this all day. I just wanted to be sure I was clear and better understood on what my disagreement is.
  12. Heh, check it out, now he's nine.
  13. Yeah, but you can't lincoln lock a LSD
  14. Dude that's totally sweet. Nice job, good mod.
  15. Hmmmm interesting thought in response to FindingPath. And this goes out to all us dino's on here. When a new person comes in They either a) make a post with some general information desire, where we (Myself included) will jump on it, point then in the right direction, but make a sarcastic remark in the process. Meanwhile the new person has just been somewhat belittled, but they have found the information they are looking for and carry on their merry way. Or b ) The see the search function, use it, find what they are looking for, and jet because like FindingPath post said, the info is out there, and there isn't really a reason to post if it's all been covered. Now in my opinion (yes every one has one, and they all stink) Vsicks Pathy is moaning a bit here. His points however are still valid in that; yes, it pretty much is the same people for a majority of posts. However, where I disagree is that while the same people post all the time, we have become a group of friends, and friends like to communicate, even if it's just jibber jabber. Now seeing we all have a common bond in our Pathy's spirit, I think that is wholly acceptable. Afterall that is what we are here for. Not every one is going to contribute a How-To, but one way or another, everyonr contributes something in their own personal way with the bells and whistles they have done. My biggest disagreement with Vsicks Pathy is on the subject of mods. If you did it, you are proud of it who the F$#@ cares if it's really a mod or not sheesh. Call it a mod all you want, just for the reasoning that your time went into it, and it's different than stock. Keep in mind mod is simply short for "modification" That is all nothin more, nothing less.
  16. Hmmmm. Are you just trying to pull the rear half of the tranny, or take it down all the way? There's a keeper pin in the shifter recepticle on top of the tranny that needs to be pushed through in order to let the rear housing slide all the way off.
  17. I love the ones with the ice cream man music. Kinda sic and twisted, but it's fun to watch the kids come runnin up as you roll down the streets.
  18. Might want to adda breakaway feature. Ewwwww, got a visual from B's remark.
  19. Shave your flywheel. For every 1 lb you take off of rotational mass, you gain 5 hp. But you cut down your torque as well.
  20. If your heads are shot it's not a engine swap. Heck, go pick up a set of Jim wolf heads and port and polish em on. Since she's down and out, might as well pull the ECU and send that in as well for an upgrade.
  21. Oh ho hum, just remember something else. Just cause you get one cam lined up doesn't mean the other is. Hate to say it, but you're gonna have to pull both valve covers if you are going to look at the valves. Once again, compression check both banks.
  22. Ok couple of quick checks. Sounds like you got everything back together right, but it is possible your crank is still 180 out. Get a compression tester, and hook it up to #1 in the spark plug hole. Not sure what the reading should be, but you will be able to tell if you are getting compression or not. When you turn it over, do it by hand, just to be on the safe side. Start at number one, and do all 6 cylinders. It'll be a pain for some, but if have any question about bent valves, this will give you an answer. If number one is off, I'd say redo your belt so that it is right, then try to start it and get her started. My guess would be you're still 180 out. If you had bent valves, it would still fire on the ones that are ok. If you have further question on whether or not you have it right, pull a valve cover, and watch the valves as you turn the motor over by hand. You can tell from deduction which are intake and which are exhaust, so when it's at #1 and both are closed as the piston is comming up, it is getting ready to fire and you can double check with the distributor. Good luck mate.
