  1. Would running an E-fan out of a 3.8 taurus put too much drain on the stock alty? I am not currently running any extra lights or a big stereo.
  2. That thing looks like it would be good for ATV's and maybe to "help" trucks in the snow like pictured but I do not think it would do you much good in the mud. Then again you never know...
  3. I'm in the same boat. I have not gotten manual hubs for my wifes sake. It is just easier if she is driving with our daughter to stop pull the 4wd lever and go.
  4. Now that everybody has told you the negatives....I think it looks sweet. Just dont hit anything or anybody and do not let them hit you and you'll be fine.
  5. Definitely go ahead and change out the water pump. It does not cost that much and you will already have everything out of the way making it easy to do. Also while your in there you should probably replace your thermostat for the same reason it is a really cheap part that does eventually go out. I also changed the coolant bypass hose. Once again it is a cheap part that could just fail at any point in time. If you do so then you are going to want to check your cam seals and your crank seal. If any of them are leaking then you are going to want to replace them.
  6. Ok I am a bit confused. Which controller did you buy from the website Derrick? And if I bought this, what else would I need besides the actual mounting kit? Sorry but reading about these does not help me much as I do not understand most of it. I guess I need somebody to explain what I need and how to install it like they were talking to a 4 year old.
  7. You should be monitoring the oil level that often anyway.
  8. Just replace the belts You just had your t-belt and stuff changed, so you might as well change the belts too especially if you do not know when they were last changed. It will give you piece of mind. Although I am willing to bet your belts are probably just loose from taking off the idler pullies. I went ahead and changed my belts along with plugs, wires, water pump, timing belt, coolant bypass hose, thermostat upper and lower radiator hoses and ofcourse oil and antifreeze.
  9. The choice seems simple to me. Forget about it until it happens again. Or y0ou could take it in and let some yahoo tellyou that you need 1500 bucks worth of heads, cams, lifters etc. Unless you are noticing something like a loss of power I would not be too concerned with it if it is running fine now.
  10. Not sure of any brands off-hand. I would just call around to paint shops and 4x4 places and tell them what ya got and they will either tell you have have to bring it in as your undercarriage is going to fall apart (typical) or they will tell you what and where to get what you need.
  11. That would be Autozone. They will plug in and run your codes for free.
  12. Depending on how much rust you have and where it is I would just either have someone sand down the spots and prime with rust inhibitor or do it yourself and then have the truck repainted. Once you put rust inhibitor on the problem spots your not going to have anymore problems since your out here in Denver now.
  13. This is starting to get confusing.. Guess I need to do some more searching. As what you guys are talking about sounds like jibberish.
  14. I will be sure to keep checking on this thread as I am in need of the same parts.
  15. Sometimes referred to as the pumpkin.
  16. I think your image looks good KNoxeville!! I'd buy a T-shirt with that caricature on it.
  17. I will be waiting and making sure to get Black Panther skids. I heard that Ac's are crap compared to BP. It should work out well seeing as how I am broke for the next couple of months!! (what else is new)
  18. Yeah here in Ft. Collins I use the low grade 85 octane. No pinging or any other problems. Then about every 5th-7th tank or so I run the expensive stuff with a can of STP fuel injector cleaner.
  19. I'm down for it too!!
  20. I agree with Precise. I have heard switching whenyou already have high miles can cause leaks or make small leaks worse. I also heard that now synthetic oils are not even true synthetic any more. I think it was some thread on this forum about the different grades etc.Try doing a search on synthetics. I did switch to castrol syntec blend for the same reason precise stated, it seems like it is the best of both worlds. I switched at 118,000 miles. So far I have no leaks and the oil always seems pretty clean when I change it. (I still change it every 3-4 thousand miles because it makes me feel better)
  21. I can not blame ya for going with the Tacoma. It is one sweet truck. I have thought about them before too.. ssshhhh. They do look sweet with a lift and some tires.
