I'd like everyone to say congrats to...
zonianbrat replied to 88pathoffroad's topic in General Forums
Congratulations!! -
I have to agree with csutke. I have had 4 pioneer HU's over the years and never had a single problem with them. I have had the bottom of the line to the sweet double din model. Vengeful and some other folks will disagree which is cool but for the price I just do not think pioneer can be beat. As far as 6x9"s go, it is kinda one of those "you get what you pay for" deals. I have used pioneers before and been pleased before but there are definetly better ones out there if your willing to spend the $$. Vengeful might be the one to talk to about this as he used to be an installer and seems really knowledgable on the subject.

We need to get a front bumper made...
zonianbrat replied to tmorgan4's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Those bumpers look bad a$$! I would love one but $$ is always inthe way. 800 bucks right now is just not feasable wish I could though. -
Darn-it this is another one of those mods that now after reading this thread I really want to do!! Along with a newer and bigger tranny cooler, lift, skids,sliders....the list goes on. Only thing standing in my way is money!!! I think the e-fan would be effective especially on some of the long slow climbs up Rocky Mountain trails and some higher steep paved roads up in Rocky Mountain National Park. How would I wire it up from having a stock set-up? I am an electrical tard.

Yeah I believe Tyler is working on the idea of letting a custom shop mock-up a set of headers for the 3.3. problem I think is that he needs to leave his truck with them for a while. And I think his truck is his DD. Then again I could be wrong about the whole thing if so I am sure he will chime in. XkrewX if your manifolds are not noticably leaking I would save your $$ for the day headers are finally fabbed up. No use spending alot of $ if you do not need to.
-
What about the tranny filter?
-
Good luck finding headers that fit. Supposedly there are some in the works for the future but it takes time. After the headers I believe you just wanna go with 2.25 pipe all the way back with either flowmaster, magnaflow, dynomax etc. There are alot of people on here with more knowledge than me. I plan on going with a magnaflow with 2.25 pipe when I start saving some money.

This seems like some good info. Would this also work for the R50? I want to change out "all" the fluid but heard dropping the pan alone would not get all the fluid out of the torque converter. My other questions is what about the filter? I have not checked my haynes manual as this job was not a major priority yet.... Would it be wise to unplug the dishcharge line, and inlet line, put the inlet line in fresh fluid, run all the old fluid out until you see it start sucking new fluid, then drop the pan to change the filter? I know I should do search and I will just wanting to get some fresh opinions. Thanks

Sounds weird I dont know where there are any speed sensors in there. I think my wifes honda has a speed sensor right next to the ABS sensor on the front drivers side hub. Maybe it is a coincidence and your VSS sensor is acting up. Usually that is how things go for me. I fix one thing and something else goes bad.

So where are the pics of your truck under water???
-
Hey Vengeful, did you ever do that tranny swap???
-
Glad to hear your truck is running good Vengeful but dam :o $2200. That is a kick in the pants!!

Mine lights up on my 97. Although I can not see the 1 or the 2 at the bottom because my dog stood by the shifter and her nail broke the "plastic lense thingy"

Martin is right it is a ghey little resistor meant to trick your cpu. I would not try installing it into the MAF either as that could be costly mistake. I read about it awhile back on some other board and if I am not mistaken, it simply goes in line with the IAT sensor and fools your CPU into thinking the air coming in is 20 degrees or so cooler hence the CPU squirts more fuel.

It is always good at the end of the day when you realize how good the day turned out. Me and my buddies always sit back and enjoy a beer after a day's ride. It is weird how that one beer tastes better than most. Sounds like you guys had fun I am jealous Martin. After reading this I think I am going to pull out my bike from the garage put some gas in and crank it up and tear around the neighborhood.
-
Wow those conditions sound horrible. I have ridden some really bad trails on my dirtbike that I will not go back too. My buddies 4-wheeler died on him once when we were on a rough trail (not as bad as martin describes) we were onlya few miles in so we (me and a buddy on dirt bikes) towed him with the bikes. It was a challenge as there was a huge rock-garden some steep up-hills etc. But it does not sound like this is an option. I know in Red-feather lakes here there is a guy who specializes in extraction of vehicles/buggies/4-wheelers that have gotten somewhere nobody should be and burried themselves beyond normal rescue. Problem is he charges outrageous amounts. Wonder if there is anybody like that there and would it even be worth it.

That thing looks like a true POS

-thnkboutit- I think that set-up you got there looks good are those the 31"'s? If so I think it looks really good. Even with a couple more inches of lift those tires will still look good. That is just my opinion, I think what you have to look at is how long you plan on keeping your truck. This being said are you going to buy 31"s then realize that you want to go ahead with teh body lift and wish you had bough 33"s. You said your not doing too much wheelin, well if you go with 33"s and the SL and BL then I think your ride will suffter a bit and your MPG is going to plummet. I hope this helps, I am not saying either way to go bigger or stay smaller all I am saying is think about what your truck will be doing for you in the future.
-
I already said I would have knocked on his door if I had some time to chit-chat but I was at work and already running behind. Some of these inspectors will backcharge you for being late believe me. :contract:
-
You gotta admit Tyler's R50 looks freakin sweet with those 35"s!!
-
I did not get to check out the tire size unfortunately. I was in a hurry and did not want any uneeded attention as I was in my company truck. I think your right about the cage Tyler. The truck definetely did not have normal tags, it looked like normal temp tags but I did not pay too close attention. From what I have seen it does not look like a beater and I think there is definetely more than 3 inches of lift. I am wondering why it leans to the drivers side so bad.Either way the truck looks cool to me and I want to know more about it. The way the fenders are cut is awesome, they looked professionally done.
-
Yeah I would do the same thing dank, If I would have had the time I would have knocked on his door. That way I could have talked to him a little bit about it. Maybe next time.
-
Ok I was back in the area and snapped a couple of crappy pics of the truck. Before I had just driven by so I was not 100 percent positive it was a R50 ( i was like 90 percent sure). Anyway it is a R50 and it looks like he has done a sub frame drop as far as I can tell. I could not get too close to it for very long as I was running late and I could not find anywhere to park. I had to block off the alley and get out and snap some quickies before getting honked at!! Originally I thought it was just rolled and had a tarp put on it but it looks like he rolled it before maybe and just decided to cut the roof and part of the back hatch off although it does lean hard to one side?? I wish I could have seen it without the tarp but oh well. I will try to make it back by there sometime and leave him my # and this website. I just did not have time to do much else.

Dam that sucks dude.

"They" expect you to buy a new vehicle!! once you realize you have crappy gas mileage. Or they want you to "bring it in for a fuel injector cleaning which ends up costing around 300 becuase the determine one or two of your injectors are beyond cleaning and need to be replaced.
