  1. I carry my tools, some rope, my tent, a blanket, 20' tow strap, tie downs, duct tape, my Gazateer (colorado atlas), flashlight and a headlamp, hatchet, sometimes a chainsaw depending on where I am going. I also take my gun, some sort of alchohol and I also have this little cigarette lighter compressor/flashlight/radio/strobe light.
  2. That is one nice looking ride!! Congrats.
  3. EXACTLY!!! I hate the thought of having to get a second job and miss my daughter growing up...I will just have to line up some more side work in the future. Has anybody figured out the "get rich quick thing"??? (without having to have a large investment)
  4. I would still check your MAf and your throttle body because they are easier to check then searching vacumm lines but to everybody their own. The only time i have changed the plugs on my truck was when I was changing the t-belt so I had the front end of the motor out so I stood in the engine bay where the radiator goes and leaned way over, it still sucked.
  5. All the things MZ described are essential to have IMHO. I went to Sears and bought a crafstman 140 pc. kit that comes complet with all the sockets, wrenches, allen wrenches, torx wrenches and it also comes with screwdrivers that were described along with some other neat things to have. I like it because it saves space because it comes in a carrying case. It also has a compartment at the bottom to store some extra stuff, I have my hammer some extra spark plugs along with some tie wire, zip ties and some misc bolts. A little tip if you do buy the crafstman tool kit would be to take a piece of carpet and make a template of the pattern of the case itself. If you dont do this every time you pick up the case by the handle all your sockets will come out of their slots, a poor design flaw from craftsman This kit also saves alot of space so I have one for the pathy and one in my garage. I know around the holidays they go on sale. I have not had to use the kit very much yet but it is a good idea to have it. Oh and do not forget some recovery gear for that box your building. I need to get some more myself. HOpe this helps
  6. Not so much.. Too dam cold in the winter time for me. Then on hot days you stick to them... I had leather in my camaro and probably will never do it again. Just my opinion though.
  7. Next time you get gas try tightening it until it clicks like atleast 8 times.
  8. Yeah just go to an autozone and ask them to pull the codes for you. That is what I do. I am willing to bet it will either be 1440 or 1447 or an O2 sensor code.
  9. Has your truck"surged" anymore since that first time? If not maybe it was the oil from your K&N getting sucked up into the TB? IF you put too much oil I hear it will screw some things up like the MAF sensor. Just a thought.
  10. I too am excited about the upcoming upgrades to the R50!! Now to just find a way to justify spending the mulah on that stuff. Thanks, Tyler for biting the bullet and actually producing a lift. And thanks to Vengeful for always looking out and updating us with products for the R50. Very exciting times ahead.
  11. I have to agree with entropy, The second white R-50 looks goofy without having fender flares. If you go up tight trails and have to back down for somebody coming down then you are going to snag something. And as long as the turn signals function then I am happy. Personally I think it is a sweet deal. Yes Dean makes some good points but there are alot of us that can not afford to make our rigs totally tricked out for 4x4'ing (yet). So bumpers like this one are right up my alley as I will not be "winching" from extreme angles anytime real soon because I do not have a winch. My main concern is about the weight on the front tires which I am sure could be fixed with a good set of struts/springs. Down side is that you have to buy more equipment in order to accomodate for said bumper. All in all I like it and hope to be able to afford one in the future.
  12. NIce tires!! I wish I could spend that kinda cash every time I got bored.
  13. I havent seen one yet. But I bet it sure would look sexy. There must be some reason why it has not been done yet. Or atleast why we have not seen one yet. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it is a uni-body.?
  14. Sounds like my problem sakana. I think it is the VSS sensor from what I have found by doing a search around here. Every once in a while when I start my truck the O/D off light will flash alot ( I am never paying enough attention to count them since it does not do it all the time.) Then sometimes my speedo does not work for a while then will suddenly "come on" and catch up to whatever speed I am going.I have read that this sensor is kinda pricey. So I am hoping to find one at a junk-yard one day in the future.
  15. NIcely done guys. Can't wait to see the other attempts.
  16. I would have to agree casey!! Although I would like some manual hubs but problem is my wife drives the truck too and she does not want to have to get out and lock the hubs. So for now until I find a job closer to home and I can take away the pathy I will be sticking with my auto hubs for my lady's sake.
  17. Yup that's it and yes it is pretty ghey lookin.
  18. I say talk to Killvox and due what he did except mabye do the whole truck!! I think that would look sweet
  19. I will stick with making smores..I have had my experience with glass grenades. I used to make muratic-acid bombs with glass gatorade bottles. Simple yet deadly. fill have of glass bottle with muratic acid then take tin-foil and make small strips like about the size of a stick of gum then very quickly put the strips in the bottle, put the cap on tight shake and throw very far away and get behind somehting. and whallla a glass grenade. There are still shards in certain spots on my parents fence from the first one I made. Oh and the grass will die where the muratic acid went off. Again insert Mythbuster disclaimer here::: do NOt do this as it is very dangerous and stupid.
  20. About a week ago while me and the wife were at blockbuster I saw a Heep liberty and it was a joke. It had the lights on the roof and was "trail rated" but the clearence on it was about has good as my wife's honda. And now Jeep has mad some kinda new mall-krawler.. I can not remember what it is called but it looks like a spin-off of the liberty and it looks pathetic.
  21. Id say get a skid plate or a full set of skid plates, then get some rock sliderz. Then get a lift later, atleast that is what I am "planning" on doing. At the rate I am going It is gonna be years before I can get a lift.
  22. I would try the JB weld and if you plan on traveling for any length of time keep an eye on it. I had a friend who used the jb weld on the corner of the top tank on his radiator and it just ended up sprouting a bigger leak right next to the jb weld.
  23. Thank you all for the input and the pic I will definitely not be removing the heat shields!!! I will probably use some bailing wire for a temp fix until I can get my buddy to spot weld them back for me. It is just hard to find time to do anything anymore and it really sucks
