Red.... Your the Man. That's exactly what I was looking for. Great Reference now. *bookmarked*.

Thats what I thought as well. I basically thought there might be slight changes primarily cause of the body lift packages that sell. I wasn't for sure on anything else. Thanks. If this one ever rots out I think that's the route I'll go.... So long as there's still a Pathy that old out there somewhere in the non salt states that the Cash for Clunkers doesn't steal from us.
-
AND.... Its the PRINCIPLE of the matter. Regardless if you think it makes no difference or not, everyone should at least make an attempt to do their part. Its not very expensive to replace, and you would need to do something with the space thats there if you were to remove it anyway.

Hey. Just wondering about the frames on the early model Pathfinders. Now most know that they used a different metal composition in the 90's then their previous years so it got me wondering just how different the frames would be. Other then the Metal composition, did the old 2 doors have different body mount locations or anything different then a 4 door 90's version? I ask cause there's been some nice listing now and then I see for Older Pathfinders and I cant help but wonder how nice it would be to find one with very little frame rust somewhere and see what it would entail as far as modifications would be concerned to have a frame swap with a 90-95 Pathfinder to take advantage of the better frame material. If I had spent a ton of time and money on a 90-95 pathfinder to have the Frame rot out, instead of parting it out or swapping all the components onto another already rusted out frame, perhaps one could just buy a early model Pathy and make use of the frame. So..... Differences?

I'd remove the Drive shaft and tow it forwards if ya cant get either a trailer or flatbed truck. And about the Fuel issue, dont forget your pathfinder has a fuel tank access hole in the cargo area under the carpet. Can get at the lines and sending unit from there. Good luck with the transfer.

Funny you should mention that. I tend to use the other Kind of Cocking daily.

pssssst. Not to be a bitch but the correct spelling is "brake" light, not "break" light. For this particular problem, you wouldn't use break light since that is a completely different issue that we have to deal with while off roading.

As far as I am aware on a 15x8" rim, using 33x12.5 tires, most suggest 3.75" backspacing. That was I used as well and had only a little rubbing on Full lock. That was the backspacing recommended to me by many on here when I was first a member and since that time its the size I've used without complaint.

Especially since we just finished mentioning that this could be pinned as a SPRING OPTIONS thread. If and when this gets pinned, perhaps a Moderator will clean up the thread and remove things non related. Like this post for instance.

Also on the width of tire subject, I ran a 15x8 with 3.75 backspacing with 33x12.5x15 tires and although they ballooned some, they never ever gave me a lick of trouble. I ran them at about 30-35 psi most of the time and had them as low as 10 psi and never once lost a bead.

Nice to see that so many of us were right on the original diagnosis. Like I had mentioned too on your original thread, that was the same exact thing that was happening on my rig at the time and I came here even though i was pretty sure i knew what it was. This place is better then most garages most of the time since many on here have a lot of Mechanical knowledge to begin with and not only that but they live and breath Pathfinders so its always specific to your problem. Glad we could help sort that out for you.

yuck. Thanks for trying.

If the antenna isnt bent or anything like that and looks good, I'll take all 3 requests man. Paypal is ok?

My guess is also a doubled up Gasket. sometimes when you take the old filter off the gasket sticks to the block and you don't notice it. then you screw the new one on and you have the 2 gaskets on top of each other. when enough heat and pressure builds up you'll get a blow up of oil between the gaskets. Its a nasty NASTY mess to clean up on a n new vehicle I can tell you that. haha

Im looking for, - Washer pumps for front and rear. - Power antenna, whole assembly. - Drivers side power window/door lock switch assembly. the whole master unit with all 4 windows and door lock. Shipping to either Postal Code N7M 1G9 in Canada or to zip code 14206 in buffalo new york. Which ever is cheaper.

No worries. That's what this community is all about.

Open your hood when the vehicle is off, take a look at the fuel rail and get a clear picture of where the hoses are located, then go inside fire it up and then run back and watch the fuel rail. there's a couple of clamps there that are notorious for being loose and fuel spills out. tighten them up and your problem will be solved. Its a really common occurance and something that many many members have had happen.

or just count the teeth between cam to cam, and cam to crank.

I'm with Grimgreg on this one. I had a 91 Pathfinder and thought for sure it was the Waterpump that was leaking. I was going to do the timing belt anyway so i did the waterpump at the same time. Turned out the leak was not from the water pump. It was the little tiny bypass hose that is a small 90 degree hose. it had a small tear in it and it was obviously sporatic on when i would lose fluid because i wasn't getting the fluid hot enough until I was driving it for a length of time. Now upon further investigation the fluid appears to be coming out of the Back side of the engine because when the bypass hose has a small leak it drips down into the center of the block and channels itself to the back then drips down there. of course some came out the front too which is why i originally thought it was the waterpump. As to not seeing any wetness around there, my guess is its hot enough to be drying that all up in that area cause i never found a leak spot on mine either. When you decide to do your timing belt make sure you do that too even if that's not the issue. there's no way to change that little bastard unless you rip it all down anyway. I'm willing to bet that's the problem personally. Good luck

My perspective is the same as B's. I'm getting older and at 33 I've been dicked around plenty of times in my life already and do my best to not let it happen anymore. If it were me, and believe me when i say it has been me in the past, I'd find anyone you know with a truck, or anyone you know who knows someone with a truck to go with you, grab a chain/sling/whatever and go get your @!*% back. even if you work weird hours find a half hour here and a half hour there and you'll be back and running in no time flat. As for establishing more credit, do it thru paying your bills on time, (phone/cell, electricity, gas, credit cards if you have any.) Personally, I think you're crazy to go out and get a loan which you will be paying interest on, which means you'll be working more of your young years away for nothing more then to pay off a banking institution. Your money is better spent on fixing something you already HAVE and OWN. These rigs are reliable so long as you put the time in. Free yourself before getting yourself stuck in a system of working to pay off debt. Empower yourself by doing the work yourself even if you lack confidence. And live your life without worrying about how some of your decisions make people feel cause in end it's your life and you have to live it the way you want to. Good luck but I say stick it out and fix it. If your moving to another continent, then pick up a Terrano.

Bender Built WD21 Rear Bumper
Dowser replied to nige's topic in Solid Axle Swaps, Hardcore Custom Fab
Might look cool beastpath but its also something else you have to replace when they break. And even though Im sure he's seen these, I'll still post up the picture of the license plate bolts your refering too. I like it so far Nige. Thanks for this in depth look at the process. -
when checking for frame rot at the wreckers don't just look for rust on the outside. Its very deceiving. There are holes in our frame by the rear wheels, stick your fingers in there and feel the INSIDE of the frame as well. Lots and LOTS of frames are rotting from the inside out. Good luck.

Grimgreg said it right. I used to install Bushwackers on Brand New Dodge Rams at the dealership and i was totally shocked that all those rivets are purely for show. The ones I installed had some double sided 3m tape, and a few self tapping screws that went into the tiny lip on the inside of your wheel well. DECEIVERS!!! ALL OF THEM!

95 Pathy Won't Start And No Dash Lights
Dowser replied to canadian4wheeler's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
I had the exact same thing happen to me in the past. It was the Alternator. I swapped one from a parts Pathy and problem never came up again.
