  1. Ditto... As far as I know the original owner never replaced the clutch. at about 280K the steel holding on one of the springs busted and forced me to replace it. I bought the entire ser (clutch/Pressure plate/bearing) and replaced it all. Looking at the condition of the original parts they were on their way out.. so it "may" have been possible that they were original.. but again, I do not know for sure
  2. First off... 3.03in(X2) is a lot further than it sounds! Have everything but some interior panels and the skid plate installed now. The good news is that I road tested it tonight. A short trip around the block then back home to put some PS Fluid in Then on to the gas station, over to my brothers (to get something from his car) and back home About five miles total, had to get the kids home and into bed. Will put a few more on her tomorrow. Plan on keeping it local for a few before venturing out further (need to gain faith )
  3. As I mentioned in the thread above... it happens every little while (sometimes the site will become unavailable for a bit) but it always passes... nothing to worry about.. it should be back up to speed soon In fact, as of that posting it is responding instantly for me.
  4. I have little kids at home... don't remember the last time I made it to the bar
  5. Well while I was trouble shooting the idle problem and trying different things I had the truck running so the garage would quickly become unfriendly to anything that likes to breath oxygen. Also keep in mind that this was between 12 and 3 in the morning and since I have neighbors right next to my garage and across the alley it is a bit of a courtesy thing. It's also a privacy thing, I live in town and less than a block from most of the bars here so anything I can do to keep eyes out of my garage is a bonus.
  6. Found (literally) a solution for the exhaust fumes in the garage. Today I went to one of my active jobs to check on the status of the other trades (still waiting on them) and while there I peered into generals scrap bins and dumpster and found some flex pipe.. two 5-6ft pieces of about 2in dia. Talked to the General and he had no problem with me taking it (in fact he said "If it's out there and you want it, it's yours" So I snagged it, took it home and test fit it... it's a perfect fit over the stock pipe. However, given that it is electrical flex pipe, it is not air tight. I started the Pathy to see how much it would leak and decided that I would crack the garage doors and place a fan there. Very little leaked out but just enough to be noticeable. So I may get some high temp tape to wrap and seal it... but I think this will work perfectly.
  7. I agree completely.. this place is great. If it has not been figured out then there is enough knowledge and independent perspectives here, to come of with a solution for most things
  8. Short story.. pathy's engine got sick for unknown reasons, then got a BIG booboo. It took a while to get a replacement (which in itself was a problem) and even longer to actually swap them. Long story if you are interested... Path's not well., Bigger problems
  9. Rami posted some pictures of his vac lines for me and between those pics showing me two vac lines that I had in the wrong places and tweaking the idle speed she's now idling at a steady 800rpm Weird thing about it is that the original vac lines laid out perfectly the way I had them.. but they seem to have been wrong... As Scott suggested I will try to talk a local 2DR owner into letting me look at his/her rigs vac line layout.. just to make sure everything is as I interpreted it in the pics. Perhaps I can even recruit a new member in the process -thnkboutit- Thanks to everyone who voiced ideas and opinions here... "hopefully" this is solved for good. I have the shift boot and carpet back in. Tomorrow I plan on buying a battery and reinstalling the T-Bars, crossmember and drivelines... oh and the hood. Not sure if I will be able to make it to the licensing office before they close, but maybe that too.
  10. PartsAmerica.com has the bearings for the clutch priced between $26 and $44... just an FYI if that is what you need
  11. They seem to gove the $133 deal to all of us now.. which is not a bad thing Did you have to work him down or did he just offer up that price when you mentioned NPORA? I had to deal some, but ever since I bought mine that seems to be "the price" people here are getting Let us know about those shocks... I don't need any but it's good info to know and I am sure there are people who are or will be looking to buy
  12. Yup Slick the "Old school stuff"... like Ryan said.. R12
  13. hmmm is it that noticable? My AC is lacking (not so cold anymore) but I have never noticed a jerk of any kind while driving when I have had it on *What, that's not entirely true... I notice jerks all over the place.. ussually (but not always) in other cars though
  14. The intake (throttle body and intake manifold would have to be swapped over) along with the oil pan and pick up tube You might be able to swap the tail section and of the tranny's but I a not sure on that. If you installed (direct swap no mods) a 2WD tranny in place of the 4WD then the transfer case would no longer be there and yes the shifter would also be gone. You would also have to swap the rear drivelines and install the carrier because "I think" the 2WD pathys have a two section rear driveshaft There are a couple 2WD Pathy owners here, they can confirm that. There would probably also be a couple other smaller things that would also have to be swapped but nothing major that I can think of right now.
  15. I would change the fuse out with a new one anyway.. sometimes they can "look" fine and still not work.
  16. Already found one that was gummed up, removed and cleaned it.. will continue looking for more. Yup got one.. not sure about the ability to read though... will have to get back to you on that one ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Yep, have been on the lookout.. but now that I want to find one, there are no 2DRs to be found ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Have to pick up a new battery, once I do I'll keep trying that... maybe Nissan ECU's are smart
  17. The key to all good decision making
  18. Yeah me too.. on both points. I sprayed the hell out the the mating surfaces of the TB/manifodl and manifold/heads, but could not located a problem. Yeah... will have to try that. Oh one other thing I noticed today,if I raise the RPM's myself then the surging stops.
  19. Thanks.. and I hope your hand is alright
  20. TBI - Throttle Body Injection
  21. SL I am not sure.. people (including myself) have been getting the RC arms for under $150 shipped, directly from RoughCountry. *I originally bought the RC arms, but had a problem with them and SL handled the exchange (because RC was out of stock at the time) so now I have the SL arms.
  22. Have you checked the fuses yet?
  23. Replaced all the vacuum lines.. and no trouble codes. But its still doing as described above.
