If protecting the bottom is your number one concern then you should look at getting a set of full skid plates and getting rid of the stock one

Yeah a couple auto parts stores up here carry it, Schucks is one that does. They are known as Checker Auto, Kragen Auto or Murray's Discount Auto in other area's

They make stud/bolt extraction kits. Basically you just hit the broken bolt dead center with a punch. Then drill a hole in the middle of the broken bolt and follow that with the stud extractor. Which is something like a screw with reverse threads... only a whole lot stronger. You turn it left to drive it into the hole you drilled in the broken bolt. After it gets deep enough into the bolt to get a good grip on it the bolt starts to turn out. Unless it is so stuck that it will not move. In that case you need to drill it out completely and either retread the hole to a larger size and use larger bolts or after re threading it, install a Helicoil and use the original size bolts.

Lots and lots of PB Blaster (penetrating oil) "at least" a day of regular applications of it. longer would be better. Then carefaully try and remove the others. Any that break will need to be extracted. Replace ALL of them with new

Well standing over it and taking a close look while it is running... now that is a different story. I was thinking just letting it run for a while and casually looking, not getting up close This applies to your situation even more when you consider that the belt is cracked and looks like it may break -thnkboutit- *Stick face in timing belt only at your own risk

The timing belt cover helps to protect it from the outside elements and foreign objects (dust, rocks, etc). It has nothing to do with keeping the belt on or anything of the sort. So you should be fine (IMO) to run without the cover since you will not be moving the truck anywhere.

Yes it is enough to warp them, but no you should not get new manifold until you find out for sure if they are warped or not... or cracked. If one or both do end up needing replaced, then it is a perfect time to consider headers

CaseyT installed a JDM into his 91 and I put a wrecking yard engine in mine. As long as the engine is good it don't matte to much. However, about two weeks after I put a deposit (to hold) on my engine, local JDM's were found (iirc correctly it was CaseyT who posted about them). I tried but could not get out of the wrecking yard deal. The warranty on the JDM was many many times better than what I got. In the end it seems to have worked out all right for me though

As they description implies, it will lift the truck 2 inches Lift figures are approximate, sometimes a little less, sometimes a little more.
