  1. 12mm socket w/Rachect... maybe an extention and a 12mm wrench will do it... or was the size 14mm? Either way, it's a simple job
  2. That's right.. I forgot about that. I remember now a while back (couple years maybe) a few people had this problem and it turned out to be a clamp that had become loose over time.
  3. Welcome to the wornderfull world of crash zones (they have other names too, not all so nice ) Designed to do it to reduce the amount of shock to the passengers in an accident. But they don't help offroad nor do they help the bank account much :sniff:
  4. Unless it is leaking into the oil But yes if it was leaking into the firing chamber.. he's right. trust me, I know... as do a whole lot of people who were on Hwy167 many years ago But I agree with MZ here.. Heater Core.
  5. Check the condition and tension of the PS, AC, Alt & WP belts
  6. ok.. now the pieces are falling together correctly in my mind
  7. That cannot be the original pulley, mine is nothing like that nor are any I have seen on other WD21's. And from what I see, it uses (or is meant to use) serpentine belts Maybe that is from a Maxima? ---------------------------------- EDIT: Wait, that is from the replacement VG33.. correct? The haynes manaul you have, is it for whatever this came out of?

    brakes

Or better yet, take the wheels off to clean them and take a close look... that way if something is wrong (other than dirt) you might see it before it becomes a safety issue

    brakes

Have you cleaned the brakes since you went mudding? Start with that.
  10. The pulley or the balancer? The pulley just unbolds from the balancer, no puller needed. A three prong puller for the balancer is the wrong one and will only damage the balancer... as you are finding out. You need a Harmonic Balancer Puller
  11. I would recheck timing marks on the cams to crank. Tensioning the cable I don't think should effect it, if anything it might raise the idle.
  12. The transfer case shift knob on my truck will not bugde at all.. three people (including myself) have tried in the past. If I ever "have to" remove it I will prolly break out some channel locks or vise grips and just replace it with another one
  13. Are they welded in on a 93 or somthing... use the Haynes manaul... it is just fne for most things (like fuel filter replacement) It's about as easy as it can get... open the book
  14. Ok he called me back this morning and left a message Specialty Plastics Inc 7501 Nw 19th Ave Vancouver, WA 360-696-3760 BUT, the phone number is not in service anymore Guess if you really wanted to you could try writing them... or maybe a Vancouver/Portland area member of this board could swing by there and see if they still exist
  15. Those are all key to your questions and what you have heard. No matter what truck you lift, it will wear things more, because you are operating it out of it's designed specs (angles, etc)... unless you do the lift properly and those specs are kept after the lift. But even then, some added stress will be on it (things like bigger tires do this) Many many many people have lifted Nissans, those who have done it right and do not intentionally beat the crap out of them, tend to not have a lot of problems.
  16. You deleted it! I for one liked that post
  17. Yeah Autolites suck in Pathy's.. I tried them and it ran like crap, took them our and right back to the store and got a set of NGK's So it runs right, now? ILoveMyPatty, that is not a Hardbody, it is an S10. Well, it only looks like and S10, he took the wrecked body of a Pathfinder and dropped an S10 body on it... kind of like a second chance for the Pathy.. or a "new lease on life"? Either way. SCO, I resisted saying that the chevy symbol was your problem.. and boy was it hard But I think you should replace that symbol with a Nissan one... make people scratch their heads in confusion when they see it
  18. I just called the dealer and it turns out that those were not made by Nissan, they were made by a guy who owned a Nissan truck at the time, came up with the idea and had the means to manufacture them... they were sold by Nissan dealerships. The parts guy is going to check into it and see if he can still get them. So "for now" I retract my statement about your local parts guy ...maybe they were not available to all Nissan dealers. They guy I spoke to said that the maker lived/lives in Vancouver (WA)
  19. Is there spark at/from the coil? Bad or loose coid wire? Center contact in the distro cap or the rotor damaged? Start simple, then work your way up the to hard... but as 5523 said.. pull and post codes
  20. umm... yeah, so I was a little when I typed that lol I edited the post and it should make at least a little sense now
  21. The focus on #6 seems to be pretty big lately.. but honetly after you do it once or twice you will find that it's really not that hard.. it just takes learning how to get to it. once you do, it's a piece f cake
  22. Yep my vote is on the belts right now too. Since you replaced them not long ago, check the tension and tighten them up if need be
  23. The the dealer is a retard... my local one can pull it up with no trouble... call another one
  24. Steve I think it all depends on why to hate them... looking back maybe it was not so bad? or maybe it really was Other things to consider would be... has the company been reorganized/bought out or merged since then? If so then your experiences there may be different now. I have Comcast cable and although it "usually" performs as expected.. Comcast, as a company IMO sucks... I hate them. Why am I still with them? Because the local (privately owned) phone company charges an arm and a leg for slower Internet. Everywhere around this god forsaken town is another better know company that offers better... everything, at lower prices! But I cannot get it, so I have cable through Comcast. If the DSL seems slow, maybe there is a problem, have you put in a trouble ticket... called and said it's not what it should be? Cable is usually faster but DSL is dedicated... this means that while DSL is "often" slower than advertised cable Internet, it will always's be capable of the speeds you expect. While cable is shared and in the evening (or other high traffic times) your connection will perform at lower levels that late night/early morning (low traffic times). Also, the more people who have it in your local area the slower your speeds will be. It's a give an take with DSL/Cable and it will likely be with the company you hate. If they have what you want, then you have to give some to get it
  25. Mine does not and as far as I know none of them ever did
