My wife and I love the outdoors. We fish in the surf and go camping on nearby islands quite frequently. I am a Marine stationed at MCAS New River. I am new to off roading. I am eager to get my Pathy ready for getting off the beaten path!!

  1. I am looking for the driver's side cowl intake grill... I guess that's what you would call it. The plastic part in front of the windshield. lol. Let me know if you have it please.
  2. Well hey, thanks a lot. I wasn't sure if it was accesible from inside the cab. To put you at ease, I am not using the fan at all. Once I heard that, I thought of the very thing you were warning me about. I am going to go pull it apart right now. Hopefully it's not to difficult.
  3. What is her reasoning behind denying your want and need to better your Pathy?!?!?!? And this is something that could save a whole lot of money by preventing the drowning of it. I say talk her into it. Let her "pick" the one that she thinks looks good. Then get the one you want. If she notices the difference, just tell her that the picture was for a different year and that this is the same thing just for my year. lol It's got to work. It just has to. If that fails, Just go with the, "Isn't this the one you picked? Oh, it's not. I'm sorry baby, I can't take it back now... It's already been put in."
  4. My fan (cabin) is making a noise like something is caught in it and wont pass through. Sounds like a piece of paper or something. I was searching for this and failed to come across it. What is the best way to get to the motor? Do I have to pull the whole dash out? Or can I get to it through the Glove compartment opening? Please let me know, this thing is VERY annoying!! Thanks, Jay
  5. Well, thanks for the help. I'm thinking that I am going to go with a 3 in. BL. I'm getting excited about it. I can't wait to get some tires on it and get off the damn road!
  6. I'm not sure what size tires. Maybe mid 30's? I don't know anyone that is hardcore off road, so I don't really have anyone to talk to about affects on the frame or suspension. I just got it, so I don't want to do something stupid and mess it up. But with the torsion bars, how far can I go with them before it messes with the alignment? And will that firm up the suspension? Now this may be the dumbest thing any of you have ever heard.... but I am looking at the front suspension and there is not a strut or a spring???? Like I was saying I don't know off road and whether this is supposed to be like this. It just strikes me odd. Let me know....
  7. I knew here, I just bought a 89 V6 LE. The suspension is pretty bad. I was wanting some feedback on it. I was wanting to know a cheap way to lift it. Is there something I can do with the exsisting suspension to make it better? Let me get some of all that knowledge that's out there. I knew to the off road world.
  8. My tranny is whinning, and after doing some research I am not sure what to do. Should I put the extra 1.5L of tranny fluid or should I just rebuild it right away. My problem is that it will be at least a month before I can rebuild it. Will it be alright for a while untill I can rebuild?
  9. Hello everyone, I just bought my first Pathfinder today! It's a '89 SE-V6 4WD. I've been reading a lot of entries. I've already learned some good info. I already have a question... My suspension is heavily worn. I want to lift it as it is currently stock. I have limited funds since I am a Marine only 2 years into my career lol. What is the best aproach to lift it? What maker, what kind of suspension?
