94 Pathy

The torsion bar adjusting bolt looks fine. Yes, it was sitting on the bump stop. DAMN IT! I do have the CLAMINI torsion bars on the other Pathy, so I'll have to get those off & install them onto this Pathy. Now, about the adjuster...is that what the front of the torsion bar slides into & cranks the lower control arm? How difficult & expensive is it to replace that? I'm wondering if I should replace both of them so I know they have been done? Nothing like having this crap go wrong just at the point of buying a new house. Should be closing in about a month. Shoot me now!

Okay, I was pulling into the parking lot the other day, slowly, not fast at all....the enterance of the lot is a nice bump where the street & parking lot meet with somewhat of a V-shape. I pulled in & "POP BANG CRASH"! What the Hell was that? I parked it & got out & looked at the front. Passenger's side is sloped down BIG TIME! Keep in mind, the Pathy is lifted. 3" suspension & 3" body. Gives ya an idea of spacing with 31's. The tire in about a half inch from the fenderflare. Shock was completely compressed. I just jacked it up in the garage & took the tire off. Nothing lookes broke, snapped, twisted, or anything.... I'm curious if anyone has experienced this before &/or has any ideas on what it could be? I'm almost wondering if it has something to do with the torsion bar & lower control arm where the two meet? I"m planning on buying/ordering new shocks all around Wed. Need new ones anyway. THANKS A MILLION FOR EVERYONES HELP & INFO!

Mounting to the crossmember does make more sense for support. Not a bad idea to do so. I'd remount it for just that reason. Those Xterra racks & the baskets don't really support too much weight. Wife has a 2000 X.

I'm REALLY thinking about having someone convert a rear axle over for a front axle for a SAS. If they are that strong, why not? I understand the cost of cutting & fabricating to work for the front, but can be done. Wouldn't you think, if you can find some shop wanting to get their name out in the market, would be willing to try something like this for cheap & have people promote them? Might have a money maker if you hit the salvage yards & pick them up for cheap & begin building....If I could weld & knew what I was doing, I'd do it myself. Hmmmmm, time to take a welding class...

WOW! I'm jealous! IF it comes to the point of replacing engine, I really would like to swap to diesel & run bio diesel. May be little more expensive to start with getting the kit to convert & stockpile bio diesel, but alot cheaper then @ the pump. Any diesel engine can run bio. I've been told you don't want to during the winters cause it can gel up.....Would it gel up if you have a plug to keep the block warm like vehicles have up in the colder northern states & Canada? Olympic 4X4 Products has a Heavy-duty Rock Bumper that is 57" wide. Front & Rear. Front with hitch is 240.99 Front w/out hitch is 219.99 Rear with hitch is 240.99 Rear w/out hitch is 191.99 Info says they are suppose to be for '55-'06 Wranglers & CJ's. Do you think they'll work? Yes, I know I'll have to get the mounting brackets adjusted. I'm gunna see if I can order them with the brackets, but not welded in. I'll have someone weld them in when installing them.

Yeah, I'm gunna have to find some kind of aftermarket bumper. Very tight budget with looking into getting a house. Trying to figure if I can make a JEEP Cherokee bumper from JcWhitney or something work? I have to CAREFULLY bend a few fuel & brake lines away from the passenger's side header so they don't touch &/or get too hot. Have the exhaust done. Sounds good. Can tell the horsies, but not so much the fuel economy. Oh well, need to work on a cold-air intake. Front bumper is REALLY bugging me.

Well, yes & no.... Exhaust is done, but I need to move some fuel & brake lines away from the passenger's side header more. They didn't weld the front bumper for me cause the dip@!*% there said that I only have 1 bolt on each side holding the bumper to the frame & just putting a few spot welds to the bumper mounts & the bracket won't hold. Ummmmm, welds would hold alot better then bolts......Whatever! I need to see if some of you Bodylift guys have3 any ideas/pics of mounts & brackets you've used & made to mount your front bumpers up after a 3" bodylift. Thanks in advance for the help. I'll try & get some pics taken once I get her all cleaned up. Might slap my swampers on it to see how it looks also.

loosening the headers worked. Yes, make sure to put everything together before tightening things down. I also got the intermediate pipe on & O2 sensor in. Needed to wire up part of the old O2 wiring to the new since I was about 8-10 inches too short. Worked & ready for the shop. Will let ya know & take pics when all done. I want to Thank everyone that has helped with imput on this project. I just need to get things paid up & look into some 33's.

Sweet guys! I'll loosen & get the Y-pipe on & retorque the studs. That would save some more @ the shop also. Will take pics & post as soon as I get it done. Hoping this next Tues morning.

Overall, it did go smooth. I can't get the Y-pipe on cause it is 1/8th of an inch too short. Not wide enought to slip onto both headers. I'm just gunna let Midas take care of it. I do have the Magnaflow CAT, inter pipe for O2 sensor, O2 sensor, & muffler ready. Hope in a week or two I'll have it done. Now days off or out of work in time while shop is open. Question for all of you that have put headers on.....also painted them with high temp paint, & possibly have wrapped them with exhaust wrap..... Did your's smoke like a mother at first also? Mine is just from driving it around the block. I'm figuring it's just burning the paint & some of the wrap?

Thanks for making me look dumb Trog..... Just kidding! How did you get it to work. I did what Pathybuilder said to do, but nothing. Whaat am I doing wrong. By the way, Lift is done, except figuring something out for the front bumper & I have the headers on. Tried putting the Y-pipe on also, but it's like 1/8th of an inch too short. Not quite wide enough across the fit onto both headers. Will have to take it to a shop for them to finish it. I was hoping to get it done myself since my intermediate pipe showed up today & wanted to get O2 sensor put in also, so all the shop had to do was add the cat & muffler. Wife won't let me run just headers. HUGE difference & sounds like a BEAST! LOVE IT!

Ok, thought I had this darn front bumper figured out, but no go! Brackets HAVE TO be welded in for the bumper to fit & stay & not be bouncy. Very irritating! I hope this works, from the help of Pathybuilder...Thanks again! Pathy with 3" suspension, 3" body-lift, & still 31's. 33's hope to come before winter.

Kind of an update with the knock sensor..... I replaced the sensor in this other Pathy & didn't have to pull the fuel rails or injectors, or the valve covers. only the upper plenium & lower plenium. just needed sensor & gaskets & good to go. This 2nd time only took me a few hrs to do. Never did have issues with the 1st Pathy when I didn't replace the O-rings. Still runs better then this Pathy. Hopefully not after I'm done with everything. Good luck to all that has to do this replacement. Holla if you have questions.

K, I'm retarded when it comes to downloading pics. Still can't figure this new way out. I've downloaded pics onto Photobucket, but can't figure out how to get them over to the site. I guess if people want to see the Pathy with the 3" + 3" + 31's, look for TDehut on photobucket.

Well, some AWESOME news & some not so good news..... Have the exhaust completely off & also the manifolds.....NO bolts busted or anything. They came out like butta! Bad news.... Got ahead of myself an started putting new studs in....didn't look @ the bolt pattern for the headers & have two bolts in spots not needed. Can't get them out now....Figure that one out. Can't get new ones that were just put in, put got the old rusty bolts out with no problem. So, I'm gunna see if the headers will still fit without messing with those two studs. Ordered a new Megnaflow cat & a Thrust muffler from JcWhittney. Waiting for those & then to the shop. I did that so the shop wouldn't rape me for jacking prices up for the cat & muffler. I've been snapping pics during, so once I'm all done, I'll post some pics. Thanks again for all the help everyone has given.

Thanks for the tip. I did take the sawzaw to the exhaust. It is completely off. Now goingto work on the manifolds. Fun fun fun!

Sorry to be a pest..... So, since I'm gunna basically be getting a whole new exhaust system, should I just take the sawzaw to the pipes so it's easier to pull apart? Should I reuse the cat since they are so darn expensive? For the exhaust guru's.... I'll be trying to install the headers myself with the Y-pipe. From that point, I want to attach the intermediate pipe so I can hook the O2 sensor up. From this point on is where the shop would be tucking the pipes, cat, & muffler up & out of the way, correct? Thanks for all your help & info! It means alot since I'm trying to learn, save myself some money & get things done myself. Thanks again!

WOW! Truely impressed by the front bumper & sliders. I've seen a portable winch like that on Extreme 4X4. Love the idea! I know it's too far away to travel & pick-up, but if at all possible, what would you charge for building another bumper like that? FYI for the fellas that don't like the grille bars infront of the headlights.......That's just like a PreRunner some of us have for lights. I have one & no, it really doesn't block the lights at night. I've had many compliments. I think I'll be looking for a bumper for up front & have someone fab the mounts for me. Can't wait to see the sliders, rear bumper, & the winch storage. Keep up the great work!

OK, Body lift is on & everything is back into place except the front bumper. Can't figure out how to get the mounts back into place so I can bolt the front bumper back up. Anyone have ideas &/or pics, I'd greatly appreciate it. Still gunna play with it to figure something out. Also getting ready to rip exhaust & manifolds off so I can get headers on. I have until the end of this week to get this done. ALL BY MYSELF! Gotta love the friends that say they'll be there to help & learn, but then @!*% happens & they can't make it. Oh well, Guess it's a learning prcedure for myself also. Keep ya posted & post pics when done. PEACE!
