94 Pathy

Alright! My other Pathy is out of storage & hoping to get to her in a week or two to look the frame over. Hope to get alot of things done this Summer for Fall & next year, if not even this Summer. Will take pics & keep everyone posted. Wish me luck!

Ok, I crawled under the Pathy a little bit ago to measure the bumper mounting bracket width for the front & rear. Measurements are way different! The bumper mounts to the frame...Rear is 42" apart & the front is 28 1/4". The bumper width is 62"-63". Close enough to figure how wide the JEEP bumpers will look. Am I measuring correctly? I guess if I have too, I'll just have them send me the mounts with the bumper & I can have someone weld them up for me... Any thoughts, concerns, &/or recommendations? Thanks all!

My tach in my current '94 is bouncing also. There are times when I step on the gas, it jumps into the red zone. I know the rpm's aren't rev'd that high. Needle is just jumping. I'm thinking a dirty connection or loose ground behind the cluster. Behind dashes are dust collecters.

I guess it will be time to start shopping once I get some current & clearer pics of the frame, if the guys can't swing by & take a look. Thanks for the info.

LMAO Could be, since he's always driving mustangs & sportier cars. He finally went out & bought a newer Ford Explorer. Not really close to our lifted Pathys. Planning on playing around with it in a couple weeks. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Ok all you welding/metal fabs out there.....Just out of curiosity, does anyone have a dollar ballpark figure on what it would take to get the fear rotting frame work done? I'm going to be looking into this & would like to have some figures to go by. Thanks a million!

Thanks Lint. I printed up that forum for references to check when I get to the other Pathy. Another thing I've been thinking.....Since it has been sitting for a few years, what about the lube in the rear diff? Could that have something to do with it also? I think I'm going to change the oil, get a new battery, check the front & rear diff for fluids. Can't hurt can it? I really need to get it going so I can get it back home & get the Calmini lift off for my other Pathy & the body lift done also.

k, I"ve done some more reading. When I have a chance, I'll check the rear shock mounts/brackets, cracks in the frame, & the shocks. Last time I looked, the shocks & springs looked alright. I hope it is something simple & not overly expensive.

I"m sorry to bother everyone with this....... Gunna keep it short & simple.... I have my other '94 Pathy in storage right now. My nephew drove it for me since I'm out of town. He mentioned it hopping/bouncing alot in the rear. The frame is rusted out in areas. I don't believe any of the suspension parts are missing. Shocks should be relativelly new. Could this issue be from the rottening frame? If it is cracked, could it be getting worse? Just looking for some things to look for once I get to the Pathy in about a month. Thanks a million for all your suggestions! I'm hopingto get the frame done & get it in running/driveable condition again soon. Thanks again!

Amen to Nissan for making the ECU's easy to get to. IF it wasn't for those easily accessable & the codes, I'd been spending lots of money over the years on both my Pathy's. I truely love the ECU's & codes. I've helped a few fello Pathy pals out with the codes. LIke most are saying, it gives you a general idea/system to start looking for your issues. Not very many other vehicles out there that has this system, unless you go out & buy a code reading system or take it to the shop.

I'm telling you right now.....If it's the knock sensor, do a relocation of the sensor so it's easier to replace & get to if you need to replace again. I didn't do it with mine that I just replaced last month, but wish I had the time to do so. I found a spread & guys are relocating it to the top of the upper plenium. You get from the Nissan dealership a wirelharness extension for like $30-$35. I'll try to find it again & add the link/info to this forum. Saves ALOT of headaches.

I ran 31's on my other '94 with 3" CALMINI lift. Going to take that off & put on my current '94 & also add a 3" BL. Hoping to put at leasst 33's, if not 35's with little fender trimming. Hoping to be able to keep the flares on also. We'll see.

I wish I would've been given a reach around! Shoot! At least I would've got something out of it. Oh well, chaulk it up to the experience. LIve & learn. If I would've had the time to do it myself, it would've been alot cheaper. It's just money right?

Just got done replacing the knock sensor on my Pathy. A couple days later the Pathy stalled & would start. Had it towed to a buddy's garage to have him look at things. I didn't have the time to look things over. Well, $800 later. New Cap & Rotor, wires & plugs, fuel pump, & 10' of wire from pump to harness, & a tune-up. That included labor also. Runs like a champ now. Just sucks all that happening right after doing all that work for the knock sensor & a month before my wedding that we are saving & paying for. Oh well, it's just money right? Just needed to vent. I know many of you are/have been there also. Keep wheeling!

It's a neat episode. They ended up putting a Dana 44 in the front with CALMINI SAS kit, I believe it was a Chevy or Chrysler rearend. I believe they are getting ready to do a few more things to it. I emailed them a few years back to see if they could do a Pathy project. Ideas for all of us. Would be kinda neat if they would go a little extreme & do a small block 350 or 302 swap. I'm planning on buying all the episodes for the Pathy. Would be neat to have for my Off-roading dvd collection. Would be nice to get our Pathy's noticed more. Maybe more companies would be willing to produce more after market products. Keeping my fingers crossed.

ok, speaking of cruise control.....mph drop about 5mph when on cruise until it kicks into play & speeds back up. Is there anyway I can adjust something so the speed stays at a constant speed? My other Pathy isn't that bad. I'm curious if my bad knock sensor has something to do with it? I'm hoping to replace it this weekend. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Okay, I know I'm being lazy & a wimp.....I just don't want to go back out in the cold. Would anyone happen to know the exact measurements for the mounting points for the front & rear bumpers? Going to check with Smittybuilt to see if they can make these bumpers for me & have the mounts welded on for me so I can just bolt right up. also, how do you attach pics now? Not like it use to be. I think forall the guys/gals out there that are as welding savy as others, this is the perfect solution. For those that don't know how to weld or have welders, it's an option for solid support & restore the rotting frames. For those who don't know how to weld, or have welders.....Time to make friends with those who do know how &/or have welders. Be thankful businesses are coming out with new & more things for our wonderful Pathys. Not a huge market out there like JEEP's. Just my two cents worth.

Well, motor was shot. Since I was putting on all new belts, since two of them shredded off on a trip, I decided to replace the rear wiper motor also. Everything works like a charm now. Well, except for the knock sensor. Still need to replace that.

nah, that's the 1st thing I checked. All connections were solid. I even cleaned them really good. The sprayer works to the rear window, but not the wiper, so if the relay is good, it has to be the motor.

Relay is clicking & good. I'm pretty sure the motor is shot. Time to look for a cheapy or take the one out of my other Pathy this Spring. Thanks for the help fellas!
