  3. Welcome fellow Calgarian! What I got from Nissan news: Nissan Canada Inc. has revived its uniquely Canadian "Chilkoot Edition" Pathfinder for 2002, expanding on the "outdoor adventure" theme of the former Chilkoot Trail Edition. Available only in Canada , the new Chilkoot Edition is derived from the Pathfinder XE but adds to that a host of high-value features. It is so fully equipped that the only option available is a four-speed automatic transmission with "All-Mode" automatic 4 wheel drive. "The Chilkoot Edition will bring a new level of sophistication and rugged good looks to the mid-$30,000 SUV market," said Ian Forsyth, Nissan Canada marketing director. "It is conceived to create plenty of motivated traffic for the entire Pathfinder lineup throughout the '02 model year. Included on the 2002 Chilkoot Edition Pathfinder are: - "All-Mode" automatic 4WD (automatic transmission models only); - Bose audio system with six-disc CD changer, steering wheel mounted controls; - Upgraded plush cloth interior with 8-way adjustable driver's seat; - Bold SE-style side-step rails; - Unique plaques and exterior badging. The Chilkoot Edition Pathfinder is named for the Chilkoot Trail, once the main route into the Yukon. It was first used by the Tlingit Indians and later by thousands of prospectors and their families trying to reach the Klondike between 1896 and 1899. Today, it and the many relics of the gold-rush era are preserved as part of Canada's Chilkoot Trail National Historic Park. The Chilkoot Edition Pathfinder is powered by Nissan's award-winning 250-horsepower, 3.5-litre, DOHC V6 which produces an impressive 240 foot-pounds of torque at 3,200 rpm (240 horsepower, 265 ft-lbs on automatic-equipped models). Like all Pathfinders, it is equipped with an "All Terrain" four-wheel-drive antilock braking system (ABS), full power equipment, air-conditioning, and many other comfort and convenience features. Chilkoot is available at Nissan dealerships across Canada.
  4. Nice progress! Keep the pics coming!
  5. Looking great! I'm pretty sure you've done this, but have you measured the leaf inner diameter size and just cross referenced with Energy Suspension for those bushings? I did that for my Waggys.
  6. Does it run rough after the engine gets up to operating temp? Say around 6-10 minutes of driving? 02 sensors sometimes don't throw codes - might be your 02 sensor.
  7. Have a great day guys! Happy -B-days!
  8. As of right now 1.05 - 1.16 / litre. It will start to go up this evening in time for the long weekend.
  9. How accurate is a dipstick reading with engine shut up to temp, but shut off? (Not taking the reading while idling)
  10. Thanks '88 - I wasn't running it through the gears between each add ups. Will give that a shot.
  11. So, I installed a used auto tranny that I had. A week and a half later it went. Damn! So I shelled out and got a rebuild. Problem is, I can't get an acurate fluid level. My understanding is you check the fluid level with the engine running at idle and up to temp. When I do this, it only shows about 1/4 on the dip stick. If I add fluid to bring it up to the hot mark, it starts to come out the filler tube. Obviously over filling. So I drain fluid out. If I shut the engine off and check it that way,(engine up to temp) I can register a reading that way. But...if I leave it overnight and do a cold reading, it's way over filled. Is my dipstick screwed up? It sure looks straight, but depending on how I insert it, I get different readings all the time. Air bubbles? I believe I have approximately a little over 8 litres in it. That's about 8.5 us quarts. Edit: Now I'm not sure how much fluid I have because the tranny came with some fluid in it. How much does the tranny hold including the torque converter? My manual says 7 litres, but I was reading 14 quarts in some other posts.
  12. I have an old Clarke. I bought it used. It's been great for my uses. I have the option of the Gas hookup. Miller parts work on it.

    Stingers

Some of the Pirate 4x4's use stingers for rollovers. Keeps the rad from being squished so hopefully they can drive off the trail.
  14. I was going for the 8800 as I could barely afford that one. My friend who got his license at the same time wanted the 8900. We got a bit of a deal getting two of the 8900's, two of the hand helds, and a few things thrown in so I ended up with it. I looked around at the Ham Flea Markets for some used radios, but didn't know enough about them to know what to look for.
  15. I remember it too. Mobile: YAESU FT-8900R Quad band (Got it so I can cross band repeat.) 29/50/144/430 MHz FM Transceiver Hand Held: YAESU VX-6R 144-430 MHz FM Love being able to cross band repeat. You can get out of the truck and still be in communication. Using the hand held, send to the mobile in the truck at .5 watts and from there, transmit out at 50 watts if needed. VE6BEE

    Sas

And there are tons more out there. Along with this site, check out the AZ and the CO boys sites to start. I'm assuming from your comments regarding Sas'd Nissans you haven't done much wheeling? Technical trails?
