  1. Not sure if this was mentioned or not. The older Pathys have different mounting tans for the flares than the newer ones. The cut off date might have been '93? Meaning anything before '93 should fit... but I'm not sure. We tried to fit mine on a '93+ and the tab mounts were different. Maybe some can confirm this.
  2. And then in August, you can come on down for the Nissan Trail Jamboree!
  3. Run the codes if you haven't already. If the crank angle sensor is gone, it will show up in the codes. Mine was a similar problem... driving along, turned a corner and the engine cut out. Turns out it was the c.a. sensor.
  4. Definitely make sure you wash the *inside* of your wheels like yozi posted. Mud or even ice stuck will cause your wheels to be out of balance.
  5. I will spray mine with clean water after a nasty mud hole crossing and or if my charge light comes on. I use a hand pump fire extinguisher as they have a decent stream of pressure.
  6. It's best to use an independent swr meter to tune. (You' want to measure the swr in your transmission line)

    Here's a few that I lurk on: www.e30tech.com www.bimmerforums.com www.bmwe30.net There are more, but I'm on the e30 forums more because I have an ancient '86 325.
  8. Mine is also on the tranny hump on the passenger side. I used to have it attached to the plastic just beside the rear hatch window. Depending on where the fire is, I realized that day that there was no time to get out and run to the back and grab it as the Pathy need to be stopped. I was trying to put out the fire as I was still braking to a stop. My feet were doing quite the dance. My carpet on the drivers side floor boards caught fire and then quickly spread as it started going up my aftermarket light wires and conduit and then into the dash. This was during a steep hill climb on the highway. My heat shield that goes above the flange on the exhaust below the gas pedal was missing. I've since replaced and have had no problems with heat.
  9. Bought mine in the spring of 1999. I remember thinking I had at least a few more months of owning a vehicle from the same decade.
  10. Happy Birthday guys!! -bounce-
  11. I bought a Moog. It bent on the gravel road on the way to the trail when I pulled somone out of the ditch and my front end slid sideways. :o The stock ones are better.
  12. Since it happens when the engine gets to temp, I'm leaning towards the o2 sensor too. Does the engine completely die? But if you turn of key off and then start imediately, the engine fires back up? Any mis firing at highway speeds or under load like going up hills?
  13. Yes, sounds like you need to remove the big crankshaft bolt first.
  14. Burn out night from a Hot Rod Show I shot last week.
  15. Happy B-day. Have a great day!
  16. I've seen a few trannys where it was only the torque converter. I've also seen where it's the shaft that only sheared.
  17. North Shore Off Road in Vancouver. http://www.nsor.com/ Great prices and shipping rates.
  18. Approximately underneath your drivers seat on the exhaust. You will see it sticking out.
  19. That does sound quite high. It's pretty much a straight forward procedure. If the sensor is easily removed (not rusted and seized), it's only a 15 minute job to replace. Remove sensor, unplug the other end from the harness and then feed the new one up and over the engine and replug in. Did they have a problem removing the old one? Do they show a labor charge on the invoice?
  20. A common benefit is -you can unbolt your driveshaft from the flange at the tcase (with the sye, a flange is bolted to your tcase output shaft, and your driveshaft is now bolted onto that flange) and limp home in fwd if something should happen to your driveshaft without your gear oil spilling out. You then need to have a drive shaft that has the slip built into it. -depending on lift height, a double CV joint may be needed to help with driveline angles and a sye makes it easier to attach too rather than having the weight of the double cv and shaft resting on the tcase output shaft seal which can cause leaks. -you can use a driveshaft emergency brake kit with a sye. These are what I can think of at the moment.
  21. Air horns sure can 'wake' up those 'other' drivers! A less expensive method is to go to the junkyard and find some Cadillac or other "big car" horns. The tone is deeper and lower than the stock horns.
  22. Looks great. For some reason I thought you were already histeer-crossover.
