Dude near me at an Autozone has a 2004 Fronty, nearly same noise he is going back with a little steam since he has on ly put 14k on truck...I'll let you know any info I get if I get it first!!! He seems to blame the bottom of the motor for this noise but i agree it sounds like a V6 chevy kackling!! My truck 98 Pathy sounds this way only when revving under no load as the RPMs fall in about the same range she has a light (really light ) clicking. I just figured my valves need love.

Now guys, go easy on me...but............... I have an 1988 Honda CRX ......that did this to me, crazy a** tach...so hear me out!! Lol. Take out your gauges and put some fresh di-electric grease in the electrical connectors. The old grease has probably gave up and now makes an environment for a static'y response so give'r a clean shot of grease and see if that doesn't help. If you want to "clean" the connectors just use a small piece of high grit sand paper and lightly scuff the copper connections then grease it down!!! --K--? Try it, this may be the most simple yet most annoying repair you have to do!

Polyurathane coil spring spacers

KMQAR, (or anyone else) :help: please give me dimensions on your spacers...I think can get these made locally out of steel. Please also tell me what bolts and nuts you use to bolt them to the truck. -
Check this out... Flash Flexy Thingy I have not yet ordered any of these and i know there will be somebody that must defend the tough of the truck, but i think it is hott anyway!! Flexible LEDS!!! I know (or at least i think i do) that 88 will dig this if he hasn't already heard of them!!

just in case you are calling a bone yard...they may call it a "core support"---can someone verify that? I am not sure if that is onl on uni-bodies or not.

Polyurathane coil spring spacers

I pray that this post stays alive. :asleep: I really really want a set of spacers and have no access to materials. I have a place near me that i have yet to visit called "Maryland Metals" they fab springs and all sorts of other things, just don't know enough though to know if they can fab spacers. Where do you buy teflon at and would 9/16 make a real difference or should you try to get a full inch? Please guys don't let this slide by the wayside!! Too many of us are willing to do such a thing to our pathy's. I am def. getting the OME lift, but I really want to be quoted from another post elsewhere here!! -
Personally, I think it may benefit the site more if we followed up on Pezzy's business card idea....I know, i know.... no one likes things left on their vehicle and maybe I am a geek but if i didn't find this site i would be ecstatic to see this stuff here!! now for stupidity...how in the hell do i send a contribution to become a member (serious responses only as i know anybody could use cash!! )and does anyone here actually make the sticker/logo/decals for the site that i can order from? thanks...as i think of as all of you as my own relatives

NICK!!! In the year i have owned my R50 i have done nothing but get more and more jealous of your truck! I really dig the burg pathys, and the spare tire carrier...i saw the first pics of your lift, then tires, now tires. I am planning on buying my OME in the next 2 weeks..I have 255/70/16 and hope to find a sweet hook up on some 32's myself. Do you think that they will fit with the "1.5" inch lift from OME or do i need larger?? Again great pics of your truck man...lookin strong!!!

Yeah maybe a swaybar end link. Me thinks that the solenoid to pop the galss would be too cool.

Stink?----> whew, my 1988 Honda CRX with a VTEC mtoor and no cat beats me up at stop lights...I think though that my FPR is dying and thus not leaning when it should...but no doubt that sh** stinks! My car did pass MD emissions without the cat but i do happen to have a crazy expensive high flow cat in case i get harassed. ps i do like the "pop-pop poppop" that she makes when i down shift!! :secret:

Good point...and it really isn't that much work either! Thanks

Sweet, I am going to get these steel brake lines...they are on EBAY for less than $100. After the line swap and the flush...if all is not better then i will do the cross-drilled rotor swap. Thanks a bunch!! Those dudes at NissanPerformanceMag.com really sparked my interest!!! Hotfinder

On this topic.....has anyone ever flushed their brake system therselves? My fluid has been topped off before apprently (instead of getting new pads) so it has run down over the resovoir, and for that matter the fluid looks really bad. I flushed my CRX but that was during the steel brake line upgrade so it was necessary anyhow. I really want those lines for the truck but am dragging my feet...but anywho anybody out there that can give me a tip would be much appreciated. (like which wheel to start at)

Precise1 is right about the weight of your keys that was a well learned expensive mistake for me back in the day in a corsica!! incidentally...i know this is just stupid late of me to respond but to prevent others.....if your shift selector thinks it is not in park it will not give you the key also; along with the steering column being turned at an angle. -study-

I have put some thought into the free flow cat also, as well as having an "H" pipe put in just ahead of the muffler. good news/confusing news i filled up the tank just 2 days ago in my pathy (the 5th tank from my trip), i tried to get this done quickly so as not to ruin the last HWY trip mileage. this last tank i put 2 oz per 10 gals of gas and guess what the MPG did?? It went up! I got 18.94 MPG on the last tank. looking at the previous tanks and amount of acetone...this is a flawed response but i checked it several times and I actually got 18.94 MPG on the last tank!! so maybe next fill up i will put 4 oz in. All i can say is that my method of measure is very crude since the truck still has about 4 gallons in it (with acetone from last fill up) I pour in 4 oz (or whatever) and fill the remaining 16 gals. This would mean that there is more than 2 oz a per 10 gallons since the remaining gas would have that mixture from the previous tank...I don't know maybe 88 can shed some light here but this is very crude measure and confusing results....making it tough to replicate, but interesting MPG. ........ps- -if my truck burns up i'll tell you guys :o

Hello everybody! From an average temp of 85 f to a temp of 69 f where i actually live!!! Yikes its cold here right now!! I just returnd from Myrtle Beach SC and my numbers are in (all but one tank). I was very happy to see that my truck with over 90k was getting near its EPA numbers despite the little help it had. All numbers were corrected for tire size. Keep in mind i do have an e-fan, oil'd-cotton drop in filter and improved muffler system....so that does detract from my actual number but not by much. My travel speed was between 65mph and 75mph, with short bursts when needed. These numbers show that my machine is in great maintenance. 1st tank 18.47 mpg/hwy 1oz - 10gal 2nd tank 17.83 mpg/hwy No Acetone 3rd tank 16.27 mpg/combo No Acetone 4th tank 17.80 mpg/hwy 1.5oz - 10gal I would say that these numbers show that 1 oz per 10 gallons of gas is the best mixture here, maybe less is even better yet, but i am not driving to SC again for a while! You can see that the tank with no acetone is less by about .5 mpg, this would only lead to about 10 more miles a tank. I am not convinced that this would lead to great great savings unless i drove long distances all the time and kept it at 65 mph constant, as we know those commie bastards at the EPA can prove and engines potential in "perfect" conditions. Though i did read a motor week post that their truck attained these numbers and i think actually did better on the HWY!!! ****The only other things to keep relevant would be that i ran the AC all the way and had a 75lb subwoofer box in the back along with tons of packaged crap and 2 adults/1 child riding in the truck. I am certain also that the aftermarket 255/70/16 Coopers are a bit heavier than 235/70/15's that were rated for the truck.

Does anyone have a sound bite of what this ticking is? My 98 about 1 time every 20-30 starts ticks fairly loud for about 4 seconds then is all gone...I do not use a fram oil filter i use the Napa gold as prescribed ( ), do you guys think that this is an oil pump prob or is this the manifold ticking?

Anyone have Sylvania Silverstar bulbs?
02silverpathy replied to findmypath's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
In my 88 crx i have ran sylverstar bulbs for 2 years now an have yet to blow any of them...what usually turns out is that people are touching the bulb and that doesn't shorten the life, that ends the life!! they will blow up in your housing if you are not careful in avoiding touching the bulb...more testimony? wifes altima---1 year and 3 mos no probs at all ---my pathy---1 year other than one that i touched during a harness swap...that of course did blow up despite my effort to use the old t-shirt polishing cloth method. I added new heavier gauge harness to my pathy and set up the dual relay system for hi's low's and fog's---thus they are getting more power and have not gave an inch -
Well, i did give her 2 coats of wax over the last weekend!!! I tried to predict the savings between the wife's 01 alty and my path and i decided that if it comes down to only $40-$60 that "path" was going....well about $60 in saving it would be or at least until Rita hits and beats everything up anyhow!!

Precise...is that really you in the avatar??? That looks like early stroke material to me! -alcohol-

Bump 88 are you out there!!! Did you have any luck w/acetone yet? or did it turn out like a richard simmons diet? I actually stayed on it and have yet to see a "gain" however, on the flip side I have yielded a lot more steady results w/my MPG. I am doing the 1 oz per 10 gallons measure and my MPG has been very steady at 14.5 MPG in town (i live only 2.7 mi from both of my jobs!!). It would seem that this stuff is evening out the quality of the gas that i am buying...despite getting gas from 3 different places. ******I am taking a late vacation to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina this weekend. This is an 8 hr drive and about 500 miles each way...any tips from anybody out there on the best mileage or even an adjustment with the acetone?? I mean other than the egg on the gas pedal thing!! *********** Thanks guys!
