Bah, my car has been driven in rain and snow, just keep the filter clean and don't submerge your end. I do not drive into puddles, but have never had a problem..once just for piece of mind after driving in the rain I took my pipe work apart to see how far the water got...only about 3 inches behind the filter was wet...I would have to attribute that much to just what was in the air. But of course to each his own (or her) risk! See the white area that has the dashes in it...that is my pass side tire...look a little below this to see the ridges in the filter and look at the bottom of the pic and you will see the gravel..I have no shields anywhere....yeah it is sort of balls to the wall close!

You guys and the lube and heater are just silly!! Meat packing plants and personal lube...in one thread...damn baby only on NPORA!!! :allclean:

If you tried everyway to get them out and still can't...that means you missed one way!!! But really that just means you were looking way too hard at getting them out...remember Nissan and Honda are the kings at making stuff easy to take apart try looking at a more simple route, as if you never had a swivel joint and what not!! Honestly it has helped me more than once just to look at the problem a different way! I have baked open lights before to change things inside, every manufact. is different one thing is for certain...the glue will be like sticky mozzerella cheese. The only variable is just how sticky and how hot you need to bake them open, start at about 120 deg for like 10 mins. Keep an eye on the housing as you dont want it to melt into a new shape. I found (for sure) that taking time to get them open is always better in the long run than trying to bust them open at high temps and have them sag from the heat of get ms-colored or whatever....good luck and way to mod your ride!!!!!

The teg is probably about 600 whp, and those lightweight Chevy Malibu rims just hit the spot!!! (just kidding Mailbu's are 5 lug not 4 but any way Wheelman, I had 3 people steal pics of my rice burnin CRX to use for their EBAY autionsd and all three times had friend of mine point it out to me...so I know how you fell...kinda cool, kinda s**ty!!

It goes on top of this piece, and I believe that I have it upside down in the picture...XPLORx4 are you out there to help with this one?? In fact I am almost positive that that is upside down on the shock in my pic!! The lipped edge sits inside of the rest of the assembly that pivots on top. -

I would say just as a safe bet, the strut bearings also since they are easy to do when it is all down and apart!! heres a pic, if you want to buy any post back! -
I don't have any but since you asked, I will get some tomorrow!! I Dig the new avatar XPLORx4!!

Dernt, That thing is sweet! :o More info please!! Do you notice a difference?? Where did you buy it? What was the damage? I would figure that the pipe size and less bends idea would have to give more power/tq. Now you just need that e-fan and you will think that you have a new truck!! I don't think that there is any real risk posed there, just swap the short pipe when you are planning on drving in real crap! My rex has its intake and filter right behind the front bumper, where most people stick fog lights. The hole in the front bumper is actually for the brakes to get fresh cool air, so that helps tell you where it is, never had a problem with it, and I have drove it in rain. What I do to compensate for its location is clean it out about every other oil change....this is way more often then the manufactorer says to but its about keeping the car in great shape!

The fan is a great idea. I got 19 MPG with a truck full of cargo and 3 people crusing at 75 MPH heading on vacation. The only thing that I did other than that is the DIY CAI, flowmaster exhaust, and I had ACETONE in the tank which has only proven about .75 MPG difference. The truck must have gained 10+ HP, the rule of thumb is if you can feel it, it is over 10. How much HP I actually gained is tough to tell, but you will definately enjoy the truck more with the e-fan!! Best e-fan site

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference 255/70-16 7.0in 15.0in 30.1in 94.4in 671 0.0% 265/75-16 7.8in 15.8in 31.6in 99.4in 637 5.3% I am going to gain about .75" in height, which is good enough for me....unless you guys think that a bigger tire would fit (doubt that) and in that case I would indeed get that!!! I am going with the Bridgestone AT REVO's, they do make them larger but I had serious dobts that I could get them to fit and be able to use them at such a larger size.....can I call the 265/75-16 a 32"??? -

I for one love the new corner abillity I got from the all OME set up....and HARBINGER...I did just what you said...took a day and bought some new tools! I previously had shot rear shocks, so maybe I have no idea what the stockers would have felt like but I am content anyhow. I am sticking to 2", I def got 2 in the rear and the front was only 3/4" for me, so adding the 1.16" steel strut spacers in the front got me to a total of about 2" overall...the heat is on now since I have a taste of lift though...I am trading out the 30.?? inch 255/70/16's for a set of 265/75/16's to get myself that other 1+" upper!!! -
wow that older red se-r is hott, I even love the body style before that..I had a clip of a turbo charged one racing that is the one that is a body style before your red one, how sweet it was to watch the rear squat under the incredible pull that it had!! that old-arse datsun is even sweeter..I have seen a lot of quality re-builds how cool, and eve better to think that they were made of old sunken Japanese battle ships!!!

I got the steel lines for my 98 and cross drilled rotors.....but an axel swap has slowed all of my efforts for right now! That is a pain in the arse!! Looks easy, if bolts and nuts work as prescribed, threads don't lock, studs don't break and you have enough bearing grease to last!! I'll post my true (crx ricer...err uhh racer) feelings when it is all done to give my best opinion! These items on the CRX made a big difference, but she just needs larger rotors(period). ----->cross drilled rotors ----->steel lines ----->rear aluminum mini drums freshened w/spring kit and shoes ----->swapped a Honda Prelude MC and brake booster (for help w/the 30-40% larger MC) ----->Flushed and riced the proportioning valve can you believe that the rice didn't help either??? ( I painted the valve anondized blue to match other under hood components!) <-----see rice valve left of intake piping!

was kind of a joke, the web site said they were 9/16", but instead they were literally half of that! But it appears that your math is better!!

stacked my rock road 4.5/16" with my 3/4" and got no creaks...tigtened down the new studs to 60ft/lbs that may have something to do with it!! Did anyone hear that??? 4.5/16" spacers??????? I have really tried to tout the idea that unless they are feeling friendly those rocky road spacers are teeeeny tiiiiny..squeak squeak...don't blow your cash! :furious: I made a trace around those spacers so if I can be of any help please let me know...I already footed the bill to go through this idea! :contract: <----i don't want cash that guy just means I have all the info needed to make some real spacers!

Got my bolts local...you have to beat the old smaller studs out of that piece and install the new ones top down. I used grade 8 and you only need 2" bolts....I learned the hard way!! -
