  1. I have acquired an overhead console with the digital read out on it...does it tell you inside and outside temp, or just outside?? I know it does N/S/E/W....does anyone know which wires do what? Of course the manual does not tell me anything. As always any elp is appreciated!
  2. After spending like 2 hours researching on the net, other that the big dog dripper..it seems like all you need is the fronty kit and larger pieces of steel braded hose to stretch the distance that you want. ......the only thing i don't know is...is that hose double walled? for in and out of the oil..it has to be a two way hose .....and if i am right can you get that in any length??? :help:
  3. Hmm, didn't think about a bad alt but...all the normal stuff like a clean TB, clean MAF, checking all vacuum hoses (i know there is a $hit load!),...this one is tougher check the EGR valve that butterfly may still work correctly but have too much tension moving up and down causing idle to be less liquid and more of a straight line. I pulled mine off before Summer and cleaned the little port using a small (tiny) flat head. There was not much crud, but and crud removed is better flow for the EGR, i got a couple of chunks out of my pathy, i have gotten GOBS out of other cars with our mileage!! (i just hit 90k myself) If you give a squeeze on the EGR and she doesn't move very easy start looking for that replacement, luckily mine is still somewhat smooth!!! If you are unsure about how much resistence it should have to go Autozone and get them to show you one..from any car...unfort. i can't describe how tight it should feel its just a feeling. As far as that AC, I noticed that she does lose coolness sitting still too...there is an awesome discussion in the "garage" about a Ford Taurus electric fan......I know you probably already saw it but it was worth mentioning. I spent over an 1.5 hrs studying this idea.
  4. Yoko's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a hot opportunity..congrats on the personal hook-up!! I have always admired yokohama's but due to their soft/stickiness for street tires i could never afford to enjoy them...i figured that they would wear even faster than i could buy them, lol.
  5. remember that second number is a percentage of the first number...
  6. Unfortunatly i am a ways off..I have 255/70/16 on my pathy and looks like she could get 255/75/16 with no hassle...I thank that i have read elswhere that dudes have put 265/70/16 on theirs and only slight rubbing when backing up..quickly. Didn't some of them come with 265/70/16? or was that just the "X"???
  7. Vengeful, did you ever get pics of the damage...i am really interested to better understand what on our uni-bods gave up first...of course seeing how phatty the shop fixes it is just a bonus. Way to go for picking the right insurance company. - I don't even know how much the damage must cost but i am truly still picking up my teeth and jaw, hearing that they are letting a customer off free and clear...i can get outta tickets but other assorted incidents me luck not so good. Congrats on the challenging probability and winning!!!
  8. Slick, you are my kind of girl!!! I like you more with each post! Tonight i was pimping my old CR-X and 2 girls on a crotch rocket invited me along...i though i would probably get more than the ride of my life so i declined but all along thinking ...How much fun these girls must be in day to day life!!! I would pay dearly for a vid of you beating the pathy-hating blood outta that dude!!!
  9. K9SAR Way to go give'em hell!!! I hate seeing stupid stuff like destination charges and stealer fees...if that truck--wasn't on that lot--looking like that--then--you wouldn't have bought it, so it is no more that Martins/Giant cleaning their produce before they sell it...hell with those charges
  10. 2 cool sites to take a quick glance at prices... http://www.bloomberg.com/markets/commoditi...ergyprices.html $57.10 at 1139am today...this used to mean about $2 a gal so why does it take 3x's the time for the price to come down?? It is not like they are re-cooping losses from slow "up" price responses God knows they shift those digits faster than you can whip your gas card!!! http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/international/prices.html#Crude
  11. Thanks a bunch DJ Dank!! 27...whew now what do i get into?? -alcohol-
  12. After owning my 98 pathy for 9 mos now i am finally catching up on maint...i have yet to do the belt/pump/tensioner... aside of oil changes i have however done: fuel filter 2 of 4 O2 sensors coolant temp sensor plugs (bosch +2) wires cap rotor cleaned the TB scraped the EGR port clean tranny fluid diff's fluid including LSD oil for good measure: many containers of Lucas injector cleaner tranny cooler i find when getting a used car that how fast it durties oil is always a good sign of wear..after the few intial changes that you do as soon as you notice burnt smelling oil (or it gets really dirty) other than that plugs and wires, oil leaks, amount of filth tucked in engine bay...you can always look to see what general maint items look to have been replaced...a newr looking fuel filter is a sweet sweet sign!!! This means even if someone couldn't do it they had a shop do it!! incidentally no real word yet on if the coolant temp sensor changed MPG, but idle and CEL have not fallen back to old ways yet
  13. Exact same thing here...Castrol GTX High Milage 10w-40....man don't miss the filler neck on the valve cover that shish stinks!!! Castrol is the only oil that i think smells burnt in the container, anyone else notice that??? I tried using full synth. but the old cam seals were dripping like crazy!!
  14. You guys are priceless...I have a friend that had a '94 S-10 Blazer with 3" body and 3" suspension with 32" BFGs and had in it to compensate for its height 12 (yep twelve) 12" subwoofers built where the back seat used to be. total of 7 batteries and 6600 watts constant...i saw a handful of girls getting too excited about stereos in those days too!!!
  15. I got a great web-site to try...car-part.com, and a phone number to another place East Coast Auto....800 231 9121 these guys combined seem to have about everything!!!
  16. How could i have forgotten that!!! That Isuzu Hombre is the S-10's cousin!!! Wow, just goes to show how in bed together auto companies are!!!
  17. From my research it would seem as thought the jack in the pics would be a good start...
  18. Somehow it aches my Pathy heart to hear such selections about such cars, but that would be due to my opinions on those cars...the reason everyone always says i wish that pathy had more power is because it is just about the sweetest rig in its years, and that no one wants to come off of them just because of juice. I too had my pick of vehicles when shopping for an SUVEEE...K5 Blazer was high high high on my list, with a Wrangler limited (extended), older Tahoes and Suburbs. Problem with those selections was they all lacked class and durability, i'd pit my pathy, wether waxed or muddy, against any of the others and she still makes bells ring from Wall St to the (former)Great Wall. I cain't get enough of her love!!! Best ride, durability, stock off-road-worthiness, class, history the list continues.... a Ford..never, a Chrysler/MOPAR...never, a knock off Isuzu (forgive me Honda)...never a Toyota...dammn that's a hot truck !!!! a Rover...the older the better, get away from Ford; in essence very hott, a Chevy...can't and won't be able to ever tackle the all american toughness of their trucks...they pay attention to detail like 1/4mi time even way back, gas mileage when considering that most of their trucks can tow a house and minimally change MPG wow; still a battle i fight daily until friends tell horror stories. Pops has a 2000 S-10 long bed V6 4.3 p/u that has about 35K on it. Took it in for an interior handle breakage and minor oil leak (spot in driveway...mind you 35K no towing or real hauling, just mulch)turned out that a GM adjuster had to look at the engine. That 4.3 was leaking everywhere....throttlebody, intake manny, oil pan gasket, both valve covers and a freeze plug ( or a soft plug? anyway) his copy of the GM extended warranty bill.....$3300---------->ouch, uhh warranty please!!! No doubt that a Fronty is hot, or a new X, but that wouldn't give the same ride or be at all the same...I too must say THREE CHEERS FOR VENGEFUL'S LIL GIPPER
  19. I too have looked seriously at the crew cab fronty as i need more of a bed to haul (with a 'lil one--bikes, tent, toys, furniture etc) i would love to have the fronty with the newer front end and nothing less than the S/C!!! Good luck either way...I don't see it as a loss at all just a bend in a great path (no pun intended, that was kinda cool !!).
  20. look in the garage at the pinned topics, we recently got a phatty upgrade on this site. It is all for DIY'ers http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=4945 Chris
  21. :o I noticed the R50 also!!! That guys neighbors truck is probably why he decided to get a new console as that JGC console is very very (scary, sheep and all) close to the R50 stocker!! GRRRREAT mod by the way!!! So when are you getting an R50 so that you can design new stuff for our models too?!!!
  22. No more off-roading for now, humm what next? Did you say rendevous....well, try your hand at golf and change that Avitar!!! Lol just kidding....so how does that thing handle anyway??
  23. Found the location of the coolant temp sensor....Haynes says to the right of the dist., unfort. it was further down the intake manifold towards cyl #'s 3 and 6 on the intake manny. will post results shortly (unless the gas mileage increases!!!).
  24. Interesting idea...keep up the good work...i love swapping parts to make something new!!! keeps me in love with my truck.....hmmmm would this work for the wife too???
  25. At my sales job today, i met an older guy that had a sweeeet '97 Pathy, kelly green XE with flares and in tow was a nice enclosed trailer. After talking to him a while i find out that he too averages 16/17 in town and right at 20mpg highway....so i left work a lil early and bought the coolant temp sensor....seeing as my last tank with about 60% highway only got me 15.5 MPG (with tire correction)!!! I wasn't on point enough to go get the hoses too but...I'll start here!! Posting again on when i have completed a new tank!!! ...............................................incidentally, where the Heeel is the coolant temp sensor located?? Haynes isn't helping!!! VG33E
