  1. I searched our site to try and find how exactly you use the security system. in the owners manual it just says to iniate the alarm to lock all windows and doors close truck up and to press the arm button. well somehow i managed to get the alarm in such condition that it no longer flashes the security light when locked and does not flash the parkers when locking.....sort of like valet mode...or just keyless, not security/alarm. any ideas out there? i tried opening the door and locking/unlocking (this is how you put your viper into valet mode) and closing the door but none of my combinations seem to be working!!
  2. Guys isn't there also a throttle body plenum or maybe it was an intake manifold plenum that you could add to raise the pair of intake manifolds a bit to "swirl" the air going in? Thought i saw that once claimd a whopping 5 ponies for pulling both mannies off....think i would do that with changin the knock sensor that went south on me!!!
  3. 88pathoffroad...i know that if anyone has a sugestion for your question its you!!! So i'll wait to hear. all i have come up with for that very sitation is (which i haven't done yet either) go to a major truck center and look for their air horn compressor replacement. I incidentally thought all the same as yous guys and bought from auto zone the "blazer" twin air horn set and used the two front horn locations as my new mounting points. when facing the truck the horns are in the middle under the hood latch facing to the passenger side, and the compressor is closer to the passenger side wher the other front stock horn is. They do not provide a relay, you are supposed to run it off your stock wiring...i opt'd for the relay, but was able to use thee stock horn (+) signal to make it beep from the horn button. In addition to that garb...the pathy has three horns...hold on this is very cool (i think) The front 2 horns that i removed and replaced were the only ones that blow with the push of the steering wheel, the third mounted back inside the engine bay, beside the passenger side manifold only blows with the "panic" button??!! So when i hit the panic, i get air horn and one of those darn tweety jobs blowing, but i left well enough alone!!! -alcohol- feb 18 national guiness day hooray!
  4. HEY ROWOSU national guiness day is feb 18 -alcohol-
  5. in the linked forum trialsin 26 mentions a spacer lift maybe i just took his two suggestions and read them wrong. i thought maybe the post read that AC made the spacers.....soooooooo how are these dudes fabbing spacers then?? I haven't seen anything at lowes that looked like i could make spacers. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=3760
  6. Fine metal screen ehh? is that to keep the shavings from re-circulating?? The simple replacement is what i did to my precious CR-X (5 spd) and used penzoil syncromesh and that stuff rocks!!! The jdm tranny's are always grinding gears; after syncromesh.....smooooooooth. I must look into the auto tranny fluid market...any suggestions? incidentally this forum grows better everyday, great topic
  7. Sorry about the previous post, but i guess setting up the post is not so hard after all. "Ok guys I do not have either on my pathy yet and the topic of getting lifted is quite the frequent on this board...question is which is better and why? Both sounds great but i can't see me getting away with it in Maryland!!!"
  8. good call Trialsin, I work in the paint dept at the local Lowes part time and WD-40 is amazing stuff, but for anything rubber or grease it is trouble. It will try to remove the rubber and even some plastics. It is however along with lacquer thinner great for removing under coat and many old oil cover parts that need special attention. --Definately stick with the silicone spray-- great post topic :gossip:
  9. :X please excuse my gender confusion. cool to know!! these pics are mad cool; i guess i am still in awe of the tech age we are in! i don't think i am old, but at 26 i am now amazed by technology and have new white hairs in my goatee
  10. SWEET, i never knew this either. question is how are they doing it? if you own a chevy truck its simple, air from your window defrost goes right into the door and out the mirror. the mirror is like a free passage out of the truck. i am not finding such duct work for the pathy, but i only looked once a while ago. so do they work with front window defrost or back window defrost?
  11. Incidentally, I did not mean that with any malious.
  12. You guys are priceless...runnerman... ...those pics are awesome  i had to read my way through the pezz-man needing the imagination bump 3 times and go to the next page to see the pics (3 times also) before the laughter brought tears to my eyes!!! the shear idea is just awesome..uhh but anyway (cough, cough) runnerman the way you are showing it really doesn't get any on the windows? I literally just got min tined and don't want to make a mess of them already.
  13. thanks to all of you for responding!!! i am going to check with autozone...i would imagine they would be the same as pep boys....gotta get a digi cam so i can post pics of my 'lil rig...thanks again!!!
  14. Hi guys, this may seem really far out there...but ( you knew i'd write that ) i am looking for the vent visors for my 98 pathy. i want to get the ones that cover the entire length of the back door including the small sail window....i have found a picture from ebay that depicts the WRONG kind of vent visor. i have seen a handful here and there that cover the sail window but have no clue who made them or if they were indeed made by ventshade then what truck they were made for.......can anyone help such a cosmetically inclined goon??? http://i4.ebayimg.com/02/i/01/ee/70/ee_1.JPG
  15. If you drive in a straight line and make the truck sway back and forth (like the indy car drivers trying to keep their tires warm) does it make that sound everytime? I had this issue and its sounds big but is small....it was the little endlink that connects the sway bar to more suspension components....i replaced both of them for good measure. You can check them by giving them a flexing and if they move they will pop and you will them know which one is bad.
  16. Hi guys, i really want a set of oem fender flares...i have been watching ebay forever trying to get them for less than dealer or even a buddies "dealer cost" either way there is an ebay store that offers the flare piece by piece for about $140 a each. my questions are: Whats up with the little flare on the bumper? it seems never to be mention as part of any set. Is there anywhere to find a set of stock flares? On ebay now is a set of egr's but i don't like them near as much as the OEM flares, there is also a passenger side set on ebay that does not include the small flare attached to the bumper. I looked up bumper end caps and the post says that the flare is included...so i emailed the seller (Auto Parts Depot), they simply told me the difference between the chrome and black end caps. uuurrggghhh Is there any help out ther?
  17. My condolences vengeful, that really sucks. Less than a week after i got my wife her altima someone pulled in or backed out of a space next to her and left a giant scatch in her rear plastic bumper. previous to that the car was mint in the paint department! this first thing that comes to mind on those tailight pieces is "silverado"" but that can only be specualtion. but they are high enough stock and the tailights have that very grainy texture..so watch for em ! chris
  18. Details maiyn! Mine has nosies that i am not sure if they are normal...it sort of sounds like the injectors spitting gas, but it is magnified over my expectations. I also (just one time) started the truck and it sounded like a set of bad lifters for about 5 sec then never did it again...and where i live we already got down to single digits for 2 days.
  19. Agreed, everyone is on the variable cam lobe bandwagon, and for good reason great low gas milage with great upper strength...we only need so much power to get out of a true jam (a winch might work also) and what we currently lack is highway power......so come on Nissan get it straight. Don't they know they are Japanese? Better economy with greater usable power would impress me more (and maybe that winch as a factory option) than just making the engine bay even more impossible to work in and even more trips to that gas pump. Of course that power sounds like a good reason to go into debt, but it is tough to forecast how much extra debt with fluxuating gas prices!
  20. Thanks a ton for the reply........after the regular christmas day for my daughter and all i plan on getting back to the regular everyday adult christmas!!! -bounce-
  21. I was very interested in the idea, that the "3.3l engine came alive", so i did some homework -study- ...this chip in aussie, there is no local delivery, and after doing the conversion math it added about 15 hp and 12tq there is a sweet site that can convwert any number........very handy http://www.convert-me.com/en/ either way if it was attainable i would be interested here in USA
  22. :o --cjs2000......That is exactly the bull bar that i want...is that made for a 96-99 also? i can't find more info anywhere...or do you have the number from where you ordered it? Please and thanks. Chris
  23. I looked at the same lights for my 98, my plan was to prime them and spray them the same color of my truck, leaving just the lights themselves showing. Locally there is a shop that can make your auto color in a spray can, I bought 2 cans and did my handles and rear license lights and tailgate handle. by the way those lights a very 3-d...they will stick out and you can't put them under protective covers
