  1. sensor 2 is the one after the kitty converter...did both of mine...check this post from way previous http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...40&hl=O2+sensor this will give all answers! ----I'm so used to having it there, its like a littie guiding light telling me that, "Hey, you're trucks on."....LOL. ----------------------------------------------------------- Vengeful that is hilarious mine is indeed the same and i too have the same sudden concern when she goes off!!!
  2. yep, i have the Discovery AT II's and they are sweet, enough road tread but great handling in other stuff too!! Mty treadwear seems to be well rated.
  3. Wow guys these are the funniest andmost dangerous things i have ever heard...and i still ask advice!!! :o so my contributions are 2 standard and 1 funny... standard---while trying to pry a bent bolt from the fire wall of my '88 crx i am concentrating effort onto each muscle the ripples up my arm and is now pulsing with blood as i pull the over-crushed down vice grips harder and harder...with not even so much as a crackle from the firewall the bolt is freed (and now nearly straight again after later inspection!!) and i am dizzily trying to figure out who in the h*** hit me that hard in the eye that i can't find them in the garge with the good eye and and can't figure if i have the balance to return fire...whoops did i just remember thinking that the bolt came free??? after staggering around the garage for about 4 min i head back across the lawn to grab some ice before the whole world can ask if I think i'm stupid! --in the garage with a buddy building sub-woofer boxes for "customers" i am filling some boxes with poly-fill and bud of mine is talking trash about my martha stewart style of spraying spray glue in the box...he is smoking--i am using an aero can. i point and jest that i'll flame him...he picks up a can and plays flame thrower with a can of PB Blaster and a spider who has bad misfortune on this day about 3 sec.s later i am doing the "hey i'm on fire dance" as he was screwing around this fireball about 2 feet in diameter crosses the garage (about 7 feet) and engulfs me---result-- no more goatee, half eyebrows, no more "fuzzies" on sweatshirt and nearly 6 yrs later my hands will never grow hair normal again!!! oh yeah, that smell sucks!! :o FUNNY-- so i get a remote start on my 1988 crx which has had heavy doses of 401k monies (or what should have been) in it...yes it is a 5-spd....if you know hondas it has the JDM b16a in it with many additional mods that should yield just about 200HP at the wheels/the car is about 1700 lbs. on this day it got its first set of wheels..a light weight set of 17" Konigs with Nitto 555 extreme rubber. to put these bad boys on and tighten i leave her in gear, you have guessed long before now what happend...i have never in the three years the car has had a remote start left it in gear...well, new rims and all got remote started across my backyard and into the appartment buildings rear porch support..with a large thud i knew too what happened...luckily i had not lowered it at all. it cleared the small concrete curb in the back and after smashing a third of the posts holding up the porch, it got hung up on the actual concrete porch below on the transmission case.........now, being that my landlord lives below me i had to act fast...he was not home having no idea what happend i grabbed a floor jack and some pvc and jacked up the porch called that guy that lit me on fire years earlier (he's a crazy heavy sleeper--whole conversations lost in sleep stuper) told his wife i crashed the car and was at home needing help with getting it off the concrete porch...hes over in no time we jack the car up on bottle jacks and tow it back wards allowing the bottle jacks to tip over repeatedly to get it off the porch....return the posts to their upright positions and quickly replace sod that the new tires chucked...then throw water and dirt on the freshly etched concrete and rinse to give it that not just drove over look...yeah--no damage to the car due to the excellent crash tested posts and the land lord never asked about mislpaced sod or odd concrete i did take pics that i will have to post of thecar agains house and distance traveled!!!
  4. eeesh derogate , do you live in Virginia... in Maryland that MS-13 gang is getting mad attention, they are reported by TV news (which is always hard to figure truth or fiction) that they randomly attack folks with machette's, but i have a friend much closer to the action himself that says it is not random but focused on those that are haters of their ethnicityand basically it sounds as if you just need to maintain that old golden rule. you just never know the kind of life someone had or where they came from to know what attitude means what...the ethnicity is mainly El Salvadorian...my details are bland too though any more it just seems like everyone is always trying to be the bigger terrorist :furious:
  5. so does that mean that you guys tried it or not?? I too was thinking of trying to obtain this 10% gain...even 10% would gt me about 20 miles more out of a tank..thus one free gallon. I can live with that. If intake plenum spacers work (with their semi-swirled shape) i don't see why putting a small spin in the begining would yeild zilch...besides it is the only option i can find anywhere for improving gas milage on an engine that just seems to work very hard to maintain. ....lil' help from any angle on the gas saving tips (other than reg. maint.) would be sweet...i know that those little girl tires the truck came with probably did roll better!!
  6. Not to worry, when i am in my slo-crx (14.1 quarter) i wait for them to do things like this so i let them over then thrash them....dam kids with cars they shouldn't be able to afford!!! I had to wait until about 22 to get such a toy and my first rig this year at 26... ...the world is all f-d up BUT (caution in the wind) these are also the kids that can't really handle their vehicle and end up in herrendous crashes and are morned over....then months later there are new signs or something until the next bunch of the same type idiot tears the signs down laughing....eeeesh graves are chillly
  7. That's a very cool diagram you found there Pezzy!! Those flares have the screw/bolts that go under the flare like shown but also some type of push pin that would push through the fender from under the truck out into the flare before you re-assemble the splash underneath....i think i am going to use chalk or something to line up the littl push pin holes....that is the best that i can come up with...pics for sure !!!
  8. If anyone has ever stuck flares on their XE, could you please tell me how you lined up the holes in the flair as well as what attachment hardware you used. I am getting close to having a full set!! Special thanks to Vengeful!! Of course any ideas are welcome!!
  9. i would second that...but does that stuff cost MR JIM more??
  10. O-K I am getting about 13.5 mpg and that is after the adjustment for the 255/70/16's...what on earth is wrong with my truck??? That is city only and it does get the chance to run for about 15 sec on my walk out to it (yay for remote starts!!) I have done the two secondary O2's, fuel filter, and i knew about the TB cleaning idea so that's done too. intake, muffler and larger piping past the kitty's. plugs/wires/cap/rotor are all under 3k truck has 88k you guys think it is the other O2's in the headers???
  11. I too had clunking... front and back. in the front was the endlinks..they do pop over bumps and braking, but they will consistently pop if you sway your rig back and forth like indy car racers do to keep their tires hot the rear turned out to be all bushing...i had all of them replaced including the panhard bar...............but now i have this late clunk that pops when making a full stop and the truck rests back on its suspension if i stop at a light with the truck in "N" then nothing but when in drive...clunk. does anyone know how to tell if a transmission mount is bad???? :gossip:
  12. 88, When i see stuff like this it makes me want to sell the '98 and go back a few years!!! way to go i am a sucker for key matched parts!!! Chris
  13. Yo man, check out this site....this guy has many many many transponders on ebay all the time at great prices...havn't bought one yet though. I got a 2001 altima and put a remote start on it, it needed a key to go into the alrms "lock box" so it could verify that the car was being started by an owner. I had to give up a key to go in it, luckly once remote started i can use an el cheapo key from lowes to drive with. www.locksmithcharley.com/transponder.html
  14. have to pull a BUMPITY-BUMP this poll is quietly getting interesting :secret:
  15. The idea here is to try and cut price gouging, create jobs and make the gov't acknolwedge the problem, as they are currently dodging it. Many brothers and sister across the world being killed while we are at home paying for the war in many, many too many ways (i.e. lives/loved ones, heartache, taxes, gas prices).
  16. I just have one question....where on earth did you find spacers for sale??? I would love to have some, but can't find any
  17. snosnk... you're my kind of guy!! that is an ingenious way of loosening....but unfortunately my luck would break the starter!! Way to go for the least erffort with the greatest output!!!
  18. BUMP. starighten me out here with the other post i left here...did i get shafted by the alignment shop that supposed ly "replaced all 10 bushings"?
  19. Anybody here replaced their faulty knock sensor?? was it hard? did you notice a gas mpg difference? did your truck run different? i have a fear of messing up the intake manifold gaskets...is this really a legit concern??
  20. WHOA So if you feel a shifthing kind of thunk when stopping or starting from a stop it is most likely the uppers??? That would really burn my hiney!! Before i even got the pathy back to my state from the auction i bought it from i knew i needed bushings, i paid to have all rear 10 replaced (panhard also)...but now my rear end feels like a last minute tranny shift when i stop and a delayed reation to start...does it sound like i took a shafting?? someone may have an after Easter visit from their worst nightmare!!! :contract:
  21. ooohhh riiight, upon second look i see what you mean hardwaretoad!! -thnkboutit-
  22. Wireless Mouse $30 Cable modem $50 Cable hook-up $50 Good computer $1500 Reading most excellent, hysterical conversation....priceless!!
  23. jj big shoe... they look like flexy flares, i was looking for flares for my R50 and came across them. unfortunatly i am not as serious of an off-road-er so they didn't carry the look i needed!! here is one of many links with the flexy flares http://www.offroader.com.au/tech/flexy-fla...o-gx-kzj120.cfm
  24. that truck is very HoTT!! I always liked the 2-door myself, but any pathy from almost any year is sweet.
  25. 88path... what do you use then for the t-case... ...i want to change it also guessing it has lacked maint., is there any kind of gauge to tell how bad of shape the diff's and t-case are in or special cleansing fluid?? thanks for looking out for me!! ps. can you delicatly tell me what AFAIK means or just give a ball park??
