  1. Dead auto, the pressure knocked the dip-stick out. Samething happen at Gilbert to mine, but my reverse was always fine, even after loosing 3rd/4th. Mine did it after idling for 45 minutes.

  3. Old E7TE-PA heads are like Hens teeth too find in my area.

  4. Dumb as in being built for 1 thing. There is defently some work going into those trucks but there still built for only one terrain. I have been around them for far too long to be really thrown by something. (buddys got a 84 bronco with a f150 cab and clip riding on 44s with dana 70 axles and a 540ish BBF) Theres no joke probly hundreds of trucks with 60 inch tractor tires on custom 48" wheels in mn.
  5. I loveit when I look at the forum and I see a giant turd on most of the threads...

  6. Leafs vs Coils? Leafs, cheap to use and they can ride just as well as coils and will flex just as good if not better then coils. Building big dumb mud trucks are easy, People act like building a frame is a mystery or something when most are built in garages by regular (not chip foose or stacy david) people.
  7. Never, ever broke any IFS parts on mine. I'm sure there were factory pieces as well since none had zerks on them. The reason I converted? I hated the vg30e/slush box. Plus mud and rivers/ponds are the only terrain within 150 miles.
  8. Played in the pond with it. Damn things getting to deep for 35s. E-fan commited suicide so it got a little warm near the end. Guess I may pull the pressure washer out and decattail it. Thought of parading it around town but the local 5-oh are a bunch of skin head pricks this year.
  9. Baby rubber backs or snappers. A lot of snakes give live births. Turtle for sure. Birds like them. The shells are odd shaped (not like a bird) since when a they first come out there are usally very soft so they are not cracked during the birthing/ burying process. Your probly lucky you didnt catch the momma, since snappers are mean as hell in normal times and crapping out 30-40 eggs doesnt make them any nicer. There fun to catch while fishing though, there monsters too pull in.
  10. 104 F and frigging muggy. I think this is wrong on so many levels. I live in mn for god sakes.

  11. You could possibly see increased edge wear, besides that if you dont off road I see no problems.
  12. After removing .7 million vac lines, tb, steering pump, alty and fuel lines I have been stoped by a damn T40 torx bolt. Now I have a 3/8 T40, but it dont fit snug. I need a 1/4...

I modded the 3/8" T40. Funny once you get the socket part off a 9mm deep well fits perfect. I'm replacing the Torx bolt with a regularr one so I should never have to do this again.

  13. Both of you, I'll put it as nicly as I can. Shut up, stop jacking somebuddy else's thread for your childish bs pissing contest. If you want to keep going take it to PM's or the off topic section. Ahardbody, you are correct. I actually just read the article (fourwheeler) and I gotta agree with everything it in (well besides the mazda rotory motor at the end) SBC,'s are known for going 250k while being beat. I should know, I have one that is about to tun 267k. They were built so the average person could work on them, you can rebuild them on the side of the road if you have too. And you ever watch dirt track/ enduro races? Most of those cars run 383s that are built in peoples basements/ garages and they make 4-500hp with junk parts. Have a nice day -Sal.
  14. Must not bitch about Its hard to disagree with this. The parts are made by the lowest bidder, always. Weather thats china/india/mexico or within our own boarders at shops that have McDonalds Emplyees working there that think they can run a Mill/Lathe/brake Press/ what ever because they have been trained by a guy who went to night school for a year. Rebuild the factory ones. And try to get your money back or new ones to use as back ups.
  15. This is a great qustion. The boots limit them to roughly 25-30 degrees before they will start tearing when you flex. The joint them selves? From what I remember from auto class is 18* for the inners and 45* for the outers. But thats the breaking point so they shouldnt be that much. Because you have to allow for wheel travel. As far as inchs/mm. I have no idea, but it seems very common for the 4 inch lift kits to tear boots.
  16. Kingmans first wd21 had a factory winch mount. I have the same pamphlet. Well mines a '95 one. nNissan also had two diffrent style running boards, a tube style and a plate style.
  17. Yep... Posting crap from wikipedia... you should know better. And I do believe that you are referring to the 4.6 mod v8 which made 239 hp and 290lbs, 1994sev6. Which while having 3 valves it still a 20 year old motor.
  18. Ok, Tungsten, 1994sev6... Your both idiots. Really. You can not believe what wikipedia has on it. In 1970, the camaro Z28 had a LT1 350 with solid lifters. It was rated at 360hp, the corvette had the same motor, but it was rated at 370hp. GM doesnt let any other gm car/truck have more rated HP/TQ then there Corvette. Well it happen once, with the Buick GNX. The 'vette was rated at 270 and the GNX was at 275... Stock replacment 350s have 265hp and 335lbs. With truck cams and junk intakes on 87 octane. A cam swap and better intake will give it 300hp or better.
  19. A 3K come-along will do the same thing a electric winch does... Just a little slower.
  20. Keep the drain holes clear, rinse it good and dont get mud in the frame. I would say you could punch a few more drain holes, it shouldnt hurt anything and the factory ones plug up real easy. Fluid film works good at stoping mud build up and salt. You can undercoat/ paint the inside, but it may take a while.
  21. I know your looking for sbc but I found this and I can hardly believe that the motor fits so well. Its a Land Rover 215( olds 215, rover bored it out to 3.9 then 4.1) and it fits perfect. http://www.driftworks.com/forum/drift-cars-sale-private-sales/83478-v8-d21-pickup.html A link to the site I found it at. It looks like it has the factory rad and no E fan. Carbed and everything so its basic.
  22. I had to use 2x2 squire tube on mine to connect the spring section to the bumper. People have complety welded frames from the front doors back. Got a 2.5 x 26 on my 5.4 and I dont notice any drone at all. Above 2.5k it howls but at speed its as quite as the factory muffler. When I had a vg I did notice a little drone in the cabin, not as much as some people say. But mine had true 2 inch pipe. The driver side passager foot well was always toasty though. The glass pack was a Thrush so that may have been the diffrence. I moved mine from under a tree to the front yard so I could hose it off and then parked it under a diffrent tree. I think I'm gonna add a white stripe to break up the flat black/ gold a little more. Like a old mopar hockey stick stripe.
