    Frame replacement?

    can ya feel the love???
  2. good news. Something to look forward to when you get back.
  3. hmmm... yo have me confused. There are no bolts on the centerlink. Unless you have a steering stabalizer (horizontal shock), you have 4 connect points, all of which are ball joints (each side to tie-rod, pitman and idler). If one of these has 'snapped', you are probably looking at a new centerlink (if at the pitman or idler) or a new tie rod end.
  4. oil could be drip down from just about anywhere. Only way to track is to wipe everything down and once it drips again, follow the path north.
  5. no need to build one. Get a piece of tubing (prolly about 1/2 in ID or less) and use that. Quick run to just about any hardware store or pet store should do. Hold one end to your ear and the other at the heads or pan and you should be able to tell
  6. didn't think it was the fan but...heck, gotta check. lifter noises will go away once they get oiled unless they are completely buggered. If you had them out, check for free movement and tat the oil-feed hole is not clogged. You could also try holding a small piece of tubing at the orafice and blowing to see if they expand. Noise from the bearings are due to a larger than normal gap between the bearing and the crank shaft. Prolonged running will produce a hammering effect and flatten your bearing. Let us know if that's where the noise is from and we can enter into a discussion of how to fix it.
  7. you need to isolate where the noise is coming from. My guess would be one of 3 places front, top or bottom: 1. fan blade hitting something 2. failed hydrolic lifter in valve cover (either or both) 3. worn main bearing on crank shaft (crawl under, noise would coming from oil pan. Once you locate the noise, the solution should be easy
  8. there is a known problem with the VG30 engines where the little fuel line connecting the injector rails gets rigid and doesn't seal well, especially in the cold. It's about 4 inches long and on the top back of the engine under the intake.
  9. look at this parts illustration for now. Will identify the stab bar you are looking for diagram
  10. sure Simon... give him the hard answer first.
  11. can't help but wonder whatever happened to these 'mystery pathfinders'. Any new members in the area?
  12. yes... as long as youpay attention to the drivetrain. 2WD is the same from 89 thru 95. 4WD is the same from 90 thru 95.
  13. my ass creaks when I sit down in my cold truck.
  14. is this when you are turning (cv joint)? If it's just when you are going forward, I'm at a loss other than pull the apart and service them (or replace with manuals). That's be my first reco. careful disassembly, greasing, etc while looing for signs of abnormal wear or foreign matter. good luck. Let us know what you find.
  15. but... it's sooooo ugly. needs mud.
  16. Last winter I had a thermostat freeze. Engine heated but flow to the heater core was restricted so I got no heat internal. Nearly boiled over while driving to work that day. parked ont he side of the road, turned the engine off and let everything under the hood come to a common temp (and let the ice melt) then started it up and all was well again.
  17. my trim around theback side windows is also coming out. It's hardening, shrinking and bowing away from the window. My solution was to get a tube of window sealant or a good tube of black RTV, heat the strip (best done when it's not friggin 2 degrees out) and glue it in place. Bought he materials but never got the time to make the fix.
  18. simple solution... find a kid in the neighborhood and offer him a couple dollars to crawl under there, wipe it off and look.
  19. no need to that that ride, huh?
  20. yes. there was no frame change for 95
  21. I have tried to attach pictures (jpg's) in the past. The boards said "you can't upload that type of photo. I opened the image in paint or photo editor and did a save-as xxx.jpeg. It then worked. Coule either be the extension or the fact that it liked the fact that photo editor or paint saved it. who knows, but it works.
  22. hey... I was just being helpful (glad my post hit the boards before yours)
  23. look here and here and here and maybe a few other places.
