  1. manual or auto? I had my reverse go out on me with my AT and it turned out I needed a tranny rebuild due to worn clutch discs and a failed pump. In an AT, the reverse gear operates at a higher pressure than the fwd gears so that is typically the first thing to go. If you have a manual... ignore my post
  2. I can't believe you haven't done a comp test yet... with all yer bitchin about failing smoggies and such.
  3. oh great... I almost shot Mt Dew out my nose reading that. gimme a candle, I think I have a fuel leak
  4. did you check your parking brake adjuster also? That could be holding your shoes out as well.
  5. nice. what kind of duration does it get off a full charge? I'm guessing that it's not something needed for reading maps and such cause if you have power to your cig lighter, you probably have dome lights. Perhaps a look-see under the hood if there is something wrong and we all know that it's never something quick and easy. I picked up a hand-crank'd led flashlight that works well. No batteries... no shaking back and forth... fits well int he glove box or tool kit.
  6. Nice Pezzy! I'm still looking at how to mount one for mine. So many options, none very nice.
  7. for your engine, the compression pressure in psi is 173. Minimum of 128 but there should not be a difference of more than 14psi between any 2 cylinders. if one or more cylinder is low, pour a little engine oil in through the spark plug hole and recheck it. If compression improves, rings are probably worn or bad If compression stays low, could be a stuck valve or one seating improperly If compression in any 2 adjacent cylinders is low and oil doesn't help, you have a head gasket leak
  8. I had one that I ripped the threaded shackle pin out of. not good when you have a full load on it. Perhaps it was defective but I got it at a 4x4 auto parts store. Got a couple replacements from a buddy of mine who operates cranes at construction sites and have had no issues since.
  9. yea... that one was just too easy. *sees Pezzy heading for the auto parts store*
  10. so.... hide your propane tanks where the firefighters can't see them, right?
  11. My first thought would be fuel filter but that shouldn't blow a fuse
  12. hey CG, what part of NM are you from? I spent a few years just north of Las Cruces but have travelled the entire state (as well as surrounding ones) as part of our SAR organization.
  13. I agree. Stay away from the Home Depot and Autozone shackles. Construction equipment is the way to go.
  14. you're supposed to put oil in them? sheesh! maybe that's my problem.
  15. the ribbed ones are for female pathys. It keeps them happy.
  16. I have shifted out of 4H at highway speeds but I believe you still need to stop and reverse to unlock the auto hubs.

I have the BFG AT KO's and they held up quite well on my last run. You can definately go bigger than the 31's but will need a lift to provide the needed clearance. Or, you could do a hackjob on your body like 88 curious as to why you are looking for new rims. I would leave the stock and invest in the lift. Cheapest list is definately JGC springs and cranking your t-bars but upgrading your UCA's is preferred so you don't have alignment issues or balljoint failures. and... welcome to the boards.
  19. I have a spare 56K generic modem if 88 wants to join the ranks of dial-up
  20. A friend of mine runs a print shop. If we knew what we wanted and approx how many, I could get a cost and determine a selling price. I would have no problem placing a big order, holding the stock, fielding orders via paypal or similar and shipping. Would take a little to get setup but should run smoothly after that.
  21. My story is simple. I had moved ot New Mexico and began training search and rescue dogs for a local SAR group.. They were pricks so I started my own organization, incorporated and got associated with the NM Dept of public Safety. At the time, I had a honda civic and a honda accord, neither capable of getting to the desert sites I needed to get to for SAR response. A local Nissan dealership had an advertisement ($1 over invoice) cause they were moving locations. Now, anyone who knows the car bsuiness knows that $1 over invoice is still a grand or two profit to them. I went in, saw the pathy, drove it, offered them $1k under invoice and listed all their incentives and related profits (I did my homework). I split the hidden profits and told them it's a one time offer and sat a stack of cash on the desk. The salesman went to get the closer (another salesman term for the guy to come in and try to renegotiate). I picked up the cash and started out the door. He came running over, acting surprised. I told him to cut the BS. He knew what he could sell for and if he was willing to take the deal, shake, otherwise I was outta there. Now that the price was set, I started in on the trade-in and extras that I wanted for free.
