who has used a hitch to replace a bumper but also be fully functional? I work for U haul and have the hitch, but i don't like the idea of my hitch hangin below my bumper.... so i was wondering if anyone modded their pathy to fit a hitch in place of their bumper, but also be able to use it for the intended purposes? i have a class 3 hitch with 2" receiver to tow our boat, but i REALLY hate the idea of it being below my bumper when i want to remove my bumper in place of something stronger anyway... SO..... who's done it and what did you use? was the hitch for another vehicle? fabbing stuff and welding are not a problem -bounce- thanks in advance!

i had this mysterious noise when i first installed the new motor.. checked, double checked and nothing was amiss... noise is gone now..... never did find out wtf it was push on your tranny with your foot.... i hear the tranny mounts can make a similar noise when old n saggy.... chewck u joints.. how hard on the gas are you? i am easy on the gas but unless i was super gentle i would get the noise... 4 months later it just stopped. (i also have a 5 speed) check to make sure you're not locked in 4wd if you have OEM auto locking hubs too... i have aftermarket hubs so that was not my cause of my problem....check your bell housing bolts too. i know it sounds weird but i went through all these motions.. another thing that i found on ym rear sway bars it had loosened up and was easily jiggled around by hand ......... also around the time the noise stopped......

only problem with out -the -fender (i thought about this) is that no air will really escape because of the rubber fender inner liner thingies........ if you run a pipe OUT past those then it will get full of water unless you face it backwards..... but then if yer flexin off road you run the risk of rippin whatever you have there ...off. i punted around the idea of taking, and reversing (after looking at one of dave's 70's firebird hoods) those little cobra scoops...... cut out the stock grilles n install them there..... they come with the mesh in them already and do not stick up to look stupid...... just my .02 worth......

CA and FED emissions equipment differences
Slick replied to SteeevO's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
well.. for starters.. pathys are smog test only here in cali which means MUCH stricter rules, and they check all the numbers of the motor n stuff to make sure it;s the motor for that vehicle.. you can however go to a referee and have then change to the vg33..... then you will be smogged as such. a 33 won't pass smog regulations for a vg30... or i am pretty damn sure it won't...... i know how strict the rules are.. they suck....... and they're anal...... and i hate them.... and that's what makes me want to move and drop a 350 in my pathy and not have to smog it and be done with CA forever......... *ahem* sorry.... lost myself there....... umm.. call a smog test only station or your dmv and ask...... -
i think there are a couple of guys here who run 32x 11.5's on 15x8's. i dunno about the fitment... i assume all nissan 6 lug patterns are the same..... just spline counts differ....which won't matter for rim fitment.........
-
go to an off road shop. they'll know what yer talking about
-
never even heard of em.. and good to see you back!
-
chevy and toyota 6 lug patterns also fit our rigs just FYI...... i run chevy rims i painted black. actually.. i have 3 sets. umm.. with 15x8's.. and a susp or BL. you can run 32's with no chopping of fenders or rubbing and like CD said.... tires for 15's are cheaper..... if you want more tire n less rim.. get the 15x8's....... cheaper too -bounce-

yes, but wheelman.. we KNOW how you drove your pathy..... which means you're gas gauge was a special case.... congrats on the pathy, and hope you have ltos of fun with her!

i haven't had the need to "replace" my lifters i just loosened the rocker arm to get my cams straight. the only thing i am going to be cautious about is the valve spring retainers.. they skeer me... i don't think you have to go "there" lol but obviously they're right underneath the lifter rod.... *imagines spring shooting into the air as she takes the lifter off* sssh you can do eeeeet! i KNOW you can! oh.. and as red said, of which i know that you know the torque specs.. 12-14ft lbs i believe (damnit man! don't quote me on that!) now.. sssh if ya wanna wait a week or 2 i can tell you exactly how to do it.. with pics.. lol.... cuz i am starting ont he spare motor tomorrow.. it is time
