yes. underbody armor is the best way to keep the engine bay clean, as well as definitely slowing down through watery mud like that..... do you have mud guards (they're like a soft rubber) in your fender wells? sliders and a bit of lift will also help sly looks like you had fun!!!!!

rancho. easily available. strong. cheaper. amen.

i think i understood that all but are you talking about the factory harness' you got? why 2? i install hitches and wiring for a living at u-haul and i have NEVER had to install 2 harnesses. unless thwey gave you one of those needless horrible crappy-to-install crappers..... pics would be nice so i can help.. unless someone has been there n done that already with that set-up....... -study- :contract:

heres the burper takes a 10mm socket
-
here's a pic when i took a pic of the back of the motor when i pulled it in 2005. slightly better idea what's around..... it's circled in white.

you are not skrewd. simply take the upper intake (intake plenum) off and PRESTO! there the little critter is..... bit of contortionism and yer in there. unplug and add new sensor. if you wanna get as close as possible, take both intakes off and the RH valve cover will also have to come off ;P i have a spare knock sensor should you be financially strapped  http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductList.as...or=Knock+Sensor

for burping, mine will NOT burp unless i have the rad cap ON and the burper valve OPEN. these are pressurized systems...... i let my old girl burp n burp til no more coolant spews from the burper valve... do NOT remove screw.... it's painful.... really....... it just needs to be open enuff for the coolant to burp out...... no more bubbles/spurts.. no more burping needed did you do what i recommended and check upper & lower rad hose pressure? give them the ol squeeze test.. they should he solid with fluid..... not squishy

i did a temp test on my pathy when it was overheating and halfway is about 190 degrees, the t'stats are 170 degree and at 170 you are sitting about half way from cold to the mid line. as for overheating the block.. warped heads/ to blown head gasket comes to mind,(i should know) fried pistons, and many other possibilities..... but if you're not running over half way you probably won't do any short term damage but do need to find the cause of the problem.

:o i am in MANTECA.. AND.. i have a spare motor/heads...... and have done 2 motor pulls and 1 build........ the motor i got in feb i got from N.O.W (Nissan Only Wreckers) outta rancho cordova fer $600 from a 90 pathy that was wrecked. strong motor. pm me if you want more info or to come see what you need
-
t'stat possibly not opening correctly or not at all..... if not installed correctly then that is a tell tale sign.. i should know.... do you have pressure in both rad hoses (upper n lower) when running? have you burped your pathy lately? check the flluid level in the rad too..... fan clutch working ok?

How many miles do you get from a full tank?
Slick replied to zack1978's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
should be 21 gallon -
sly check out my sig pics... that's a smittybuilt.. i think the one i got was for a yota tho.. they are very similar.. very little fabbing to make fit
-
last time mine failed (dec) i had a blown head gasket...... and it barely failed. (i am in CA) and flew through with the new motor. like 88 said.. vaccum lines and the timing being out can play a big factor in what yer failing on and check for any loose/broken or parts that look to be old and failing 87 octane is all you need. if she pings check yer timing. these motors are emant and built to run on 87 octane. when you fill up throw some lucas fuel treatment in there.. i use it every other fill up n swear by the stuff....

as long as you don't plan on running an excessive amount of lights there will be no harm done tapping into your tail lights. i install hitches and the wiring all day long (done 1 pathy) and 4 boat trailers and a car hauler and they all work fine. you have to remember.. on 2 of the lights onna trailer actually "do something" the marker lights are just tapped into the ground wires.....
-
yeah. removing res is definitely easier.. i tried to get the motor while res was still in... not a good deal.... mucho frustration lol
-
not really... because the pump motor is actually UNDER the bottle.... it's just there's not much space to work in and you have to take stuff off/move stuff around to get where you need to be for the microscopic piece that it is.... and just the motor alone is $20 here....
-
:sniff: damn. i am sorry to hear that. at least you recouped some of your $$ from the buggers who fubard the tranny. 2 weeks??? wtf? they were prolly using it! don't give up, you'll find a new tranny and she'll come alive once more i'm sure. keep the faith, and the pathy..... both in one piece.

could be a number of things, but if yer "lucky" you got a cut/hole in a line rather than the compressor going out on you. good luck and let us know what happens
