  1. yes, I think theexbrit did this, and someone else I can not recall. I think it might be better just to have a bumper built that has an integral carrier, but some people like the factory look. B
  2. I believe the replacement tanks available through Nissan are only 15 gallons, but aftermarket suppliers still have 20 gallon units. According to Alkorahil B
  3. He said it did it with different rims/tires as well. Nothing redneck about it, it is standard machinist inspection technique. I even have a small granite block in my garage for such purposes. Glass, the thicker the better, also works well whan laid on a reasonably flat surface. B
  4. Normally I would agree with him, but... Not much left in the drive train that hasn't been replaced or inspected... Perhaps a slightly bent axle shaft that hits harmonics at that speed? This is rather mystifying. Have you had others test drive the vehicle? B
  5. ^could be! Have you checked for ECU codes as well? B
  6. Seems right from the description... The FSM I referenced was 1998, I'm sure it is the same. B
  7. Sorry, no first hand on the RMS. Have you guys downloaded the FSM from the pinned thread in the Garage section? EM-23 shows removing seal retainer, replacing seal, and replacing seal retainer. No mention of oil pan... B

    Fuel Pump

You can't swap inter pumps to exterior. Check out the D720 fuel pump set up. The pump/filter is housed in the passenger side frame rail box towards the rear, so that would mean simple pickup in the tank. I'm not sure if it would supply the proper fuel pressure, but it is worth looking at as some of them had a TBI set up. B
  9. Best comment for a long time... You woke it up, you feed it! B
  10. That sounds pretty good! I would be curious what CFM that equals though. In an emergency, yes, but I wouldn't make a habit of it... B
  11. What were you trying to say? (I can edit things...) B
  12. I see that now that I look. It was hit from behind as well by the looks of the tire carrier mounts... Hah! Pictures! B
  13. That is always helpful when they run, but test, don't guess... B
  14. Temperature could also affect things. Do you have an aftermarket transmission cooler or temperature gauge? B
  15. Yep! Spring sag (front and rear), shocks, tires type, tire size, tire pressure, mileage, bushing conditions... A lot of things contribute. Do a few simple things like compare the tires and shocks, mileage and overall height. Measure to the body crease at all 4 corners on both trucks and see what difference there is. B
  16. Thought I replied to this? Compression check the cylinders as well, it could tell you something... B
  17. Did it have the Rapist Red interior? I think that means the frame is rusted out, see the sag? B
  18. Seriously? Overpasses? I'll give you 'surface variances' for that but the highest point in the state is about 350ft. It's all good, just saying... B
  19. I locked it. (it is out in the driveway in my rough neighborhood) B
  20. You are good. That would be the torque converter locking up when it warms up and maybe the tranny kicking in and out of overdrive due to the load. I have to cry foul though. You live in South Florida, there isn't a hill within hundreds of miles... B
  21. Interesting, I have not heard of those before. Do you have a link or part number for us? I wonder if it is a different manufacturer or rebadged... B
  22. At least one member has owned one of the 2 door VG30E's, up in the PNW IIRC... B
  23. Crap, I'm sorry to hear this! Before you tear into it, take a look around and see how much a used motor goes for, it might give you perspective on what to do next. B
  24. Yes, go to the Garage section, in the pinned thread to download the FSM for your year. All the torque specs will be in there, I don't know them without looking them up myself. B
