  1. DOH !! As unccp says, maybe you won't get a finished truck, but you should get it back as is... Good luck and keep us informed !! B
  2. Yeah, it's on the drivers side door console... Called "power locks"... B
  3. LOL, well you had me mystified... UHMW is ultra high molecular weight (PE) poly ethylene which is tough stuff indeed. PS would be poly styrene meaning you are making something out of styrofoam... The right size bar stock, socket, etc, some bracing and a bottle jack goes a long way. $30 is worth not dealing with it, but you could do it yourself fairly easily; you're clever... I have no idea about the bolts, not having done that work myself, but well done so far and good luck !!! Keep taking the picts for us please... B
  4. Hammer them Fueler !! Don't let up or be nice !!! This is the kind of crap that ignorant people fall for and get screwed !! My guess is you can get free oil changes for life by the same asshats who screwed up an oil change to begin with... B
  5. I recommend starting here... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=2076 B

    Hot hubs

So, what was the issue ?? B
  7. Your download speed sucks so I didn't have the patience... Well, it's not that expensive to fix... B
  8. LMAO TrailChaser, you are just approaching recognisable velocity... You just wait !!! Read V's previous post and COWER !! B
  9. The JDE engines are usually a good buy... Like anything else used, it can be dicey though... As V said, what is the issue with yours ? Again on the sales price... What kind of engine work, how many miles and where are you located... B
  10. This is also a very effective anti theft device... Anti theft B
  11. LOL, it'll run a while as long as you get over that 'roasting the tires' phase... Glad you had an easy fix, now enjoy her... B
  12. Sorry to hear Sanford. I've dealt with shops like that before and tried not to get ulcers about it... You can either try to pick up a good tranny cheap as above, or part/sell the vehicle as I'm sure there are plenty of good parts on it. Don't five up yot, but good luck with whatever you decide. B

    tranny problems

Ok, I'm guessing you have an automatic... Those trannys need to stay cool and the stock nissan tranny cooler is in the radiator which is prone to clogging. See the problem ?? Best thing you can do is install (have installed) an aftermarket (or junkyard) tranny cooler and bypass the stock one (not too expensive). Then have the tranny flushed and fluid replaced. Then cross your fingers because to have the automatic tranny repaired/replaced is not cheap ! There may be something with the seliniods or the tranny controller, but I don't know them very well as I only drive manuals. Others will chime in that know better. B
  14. Damn Dowser, the Sheit God has been smiling on you lately, at least vehicularly... Don't feel alone though !! I've got a damaged Pathy, 2 projects vehicles and a rolling chassis that I'm trying to get sorted out. Thats the right aproach and now that you know what to look for/expect, you will do much better. Parting the old one and planning for the new seems the best way to go. Fixing a brake line shouldn't be a big deal, but I hear your pain about not being able to pass safety checks. There's only so much you can do thats within reason. I recommend a 94-95 pathy for the next rig if you don't live in salt country. Better interior and 105k mile timing belt change intervals... Best of luck Bro... B
  15. I don't know that animal, but the rule of thumb is to clean everything well then start and check for leaks... If nothing, drive for a few miles and check for leaks... You get the drift. Sorry to be so vague, but thats usually what finds the problem. B
  16. If you had a real Pathy (read 4 door... ) of the better vintage (read 94-95) you'd have an electronic speedo and the solution would be simple... The only thing I can think of is an optical sensor (rpm meter style) that is set up on a front wheel somewhere. Once RPM reaches a defined value, power to the fan is bypassed. You know far more that i do about this stuff so I think you can take it from here... B Oh, how about an electronic wind speed gauge mounted up front ?? You don't have to be doing 30, just the air flow...
  17. WooHoo !! Can I borrow it for a weekend ?? B
  18. Cup holders, -30 Hp, crappy bumpers, non retracttable rear glass, exhaust routed soooo close to the drivers side floor board and cup holders. Did I say that ? B
  19. Thats pretty ambitious if you have a job or a life, heaven forbid both !! Good luck though, Whitey will be even whiter then !! WTF is that ?? The first 4 are clear, the next 2 mean poly styrene unless it goes from there. What is it you are using in other than manufacturers nomenclature ? B
  20. WTF man ?? Jump to judge when you have no info ? Mellow out ! Definition of highway VS freeway. Highways have cross traffic, lights or not. Bingo, both correct. Sorry, that just irritated me... I'm sorry DTECH, I just hope everyone involve is OK !!! LOL that you started the pathy and drove it, even a short distance... Gonna get another one ??? When you edit or reply, use the browse feature to locate the pict (check the proper extension), click on it, hit yes and it will load if it is not over... 500k if I remember... B
  21. mws is exactly correct. On my last nissan truck, it was fine on the freeway and at speeds over 30mph, even in the summer in Cali. It would heat up at stoplights and serious traffic. Fan clutch was shot (original with 120k on it). Remember that when you are at speed, the belted fan is actually fighting the inflowing air... B
  22. If you hate them, get clear corner llenses. It looks lame the way you have it IM(not so humble)O... Oh, and as wheel366 pointed out after he got hit from behind, the finding was that the person that hit him should have regardless of the fact that the tail light lenses were tampered with. That was during the day... Maybe you won't be so lucky in your state, or at night... Food for thought. Besides, why change them, you don't see them... B
