  1. Basically... A strong additive will do wierd stuff. Everything from plugging the new fuel filter (your tank has 10 years of residual crap in the bottom) to running rough (injectors and cylinders cleaning, different emissions which may confuse the computer which tries to adjust...) Did you add the 'correct' amount ?? Maybe dilute with some more gas ?? Sorry, I see you did that... Cleaning the distributor contacts will help, but you probably want to replace cap, rotor, wires and plugs all at once some time soon. It will run better and you will have a maintenence clock point... B
  2. Start a vehicular encyclopedia mws... B
  3. I love a happy ending !! B
  4. DAMN !!! Never heard of that !! Is the speedo accurate ? Yes, quite good vehicles for the price, eh ?? B
  5. To mirror everyone else, no and no problem. Follow the tips that people have provided, but for life, not just this board. Relax Bud, life has enough problem... Welcome back ! B
  6. Cool then... *shakes head @ 'skyware'* B
  7. 6 on 5.5 pattern with 3.5 (3.75) backspacing for 8" rims ?? I'll see what I can find... http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...k+spacing" http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...k+spacing" That should answer you... B
  8. Of course !!! Ok renn, it the loose part in the body or the hatch ? If it's the body, you can get at the backside by removing the interior panneling. If it's the hatch like I think (mine has slight rust there), maybe you can get to the back side by removing the glass strut bracket and or the glass seal there ?? I'm not sure, but I doubt they fabbed it with the threads internal and inaccessable. If thats the case, then you need to drill out that hole and put in a pop rivet thread insert or jacknut to thread into. Jacknut being the easier. *waits for answers* B
  9. Calipers not fully retracting ? There is a write up on lubing the slide pins... Power steering fluid low, pump failing making the belt slip ?? B
  10. http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...hl=electric+fan http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...hl=electric+fan http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...hl=electric+fan That should get you started... B
  11. No, just cautious and patient. Generally fine qualities in my book... B
  12. Chase it with a form tap, not a cutting tap. http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNSRIT?PMPXN...&PMT4NO=8519431 *yawn* The whole kit is here... http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNSRIT?PMPXNO=1648924&PMT4NO=0 Then there is epoxy... Still not exactly sure what you mean, I'll look tomorrow. B
  13. Damn, then I better show mine some love !!! Scrape off some rust, change the fluid, etc... I wouldn't trust an El Cheapo, but are the new Craftsman units built as poorly ? Not like they are top of the line... I'll have to look next time I can. B
  14. Yeah, mine works fine also, swapped a few this evening... Have verified that you are logged in ? Dial up ? Skyware/malware running on your system ? B
  15. True, but that said, my Craftsman compact 2 ton floor jack has been lifting everything for about 15 years without issue... $40 or so back then. B
  16. Yep, follow 88's advice. Brush, scrape then hammer problem spots to determine the extent of the rusting. Here are a few threads I dug up for you. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=5467&hl=rust http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=5496&hl=rust http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=5485 I know of someone who swears by denatured fish oil as a protector; it can be brushed or sprayed on, making it perfect for inside the frame... B
  17. Sorry, but I haven't had an automagic for almost 20 years... I do not recall anyone talking about that before though... B
  18. Fair enough FL, I haven't done much of that. I'm fairly moderate with my wheeling... My purpose is to reach destinations, not ply the rated trails in a park with a caravan so our uses are different. The day I have to clutch my way over a rock, I may well agree with you ! That said, I seem to be able to creep along fine in 4LO for anything I deem necesary, but then I have never had a spotter and there are a few dents... Different strokes I guess. If it works for you, I'm glad they are available !!! B
  19. I have not done they Warn hub swap, so I cant help there but I have heard the bolts are weak and need upgrading... (8.8 maybe ? Don't know) Brakes are disk so new pads, a can of brake cleaner and maybe antivibe goo... It's all good to go if you keep it clean and bleed them. B
  20. Send bits and pieces over here along with the Kawi Concourse... I'd have a nice bike and the rest could go into a salad... mws, did you know that I used to build (machine... building is easy) linear actuators ?? If you want a real, reliable unit, I have some ideas.. PM me... B
  21. Interesting ! The only points I will refute is the Are they that much lighter that it matters and while the rigidity is good on the road, I'd think some frame flex is desirable offroad. I'll leave the lift part untouched... Too bad they only came in automagic !! I'm glad that they are well received and rated down under !! Maybe some more aftermarket items will appear... B
  22. Cool, I need a creeper and one can never have too many jack stands !! The old floor jack is looking pretty neglected also. If there is a good package deal, I'm all over it !! B
  23. You could design it better, I could make it better... The mind of a machinist... B
  24. There you have it my friend... Play hard, pay hard... B
  25. Hmm, my 4WL is already VERY low, I don't think I could need it lower... B
