  1. Good advice so far steam... You can get a mag base with indicator for about $25 from MSC industrial supply. (US anyway) Make sure to regrease the wheel bearings since you have the rotor off, and preload correctly as per manual. You shouldn't have any trouble after that, but it can never hurt to check after a few hundred miles... B
  2. Help MM out if he needs it... B
  3. Sorry, but I have no idea for a 96+... I'm sure it has been covered in the R50 section, and if V says GL-4, I bet he knows... That said, I'm fairly certain GL-4 won't hurt a tranny that can use GL-5, just the other way around... Not much help, eh ? B
  4. Nice, thanks... I'll pin it soon... B

LOL, there must be a better way.... Glad you got it in and hope it stays. B
  6. Damn !! I'm amazed that it ran at all with a broken cam shaft on one bank !!! I'd have to chalk that up to a defective cam... As you said, you can either tear it all the way down and do it up right or you can just do the heads and cross your fingers. I vote for the latter, all things considered but what happened to the motor from 88's parts 87 ?? Parts perhaps ?? B
  7. Pictures would give us a better idea, but yes, it can probably be fixed. I have NO idea how much though. I'd look for a custom/fab shop and have them take a look. I'm assuming neither you or anyone you know is up to doing it. B
  8. Good job. It's not really that hard once you get into it, it just requires some patience... Yeah, the mechanic would have scalped you !! Now you have more tools and skills !! B

  10. #1 Get a manual tranny. #2 Most people put it on the side of the engine bay behind the battery. Slick has some good photos as well as others. #3 The starter goes in from the front. Above the centerlink/tierod or whatever, then sraight back to it's mount. You may have to remove some wiring clips to get enough room and there are some times you have to turn the starter for clearance. I cant remember the exact recipe, but calm and thinking will get it in 10X faster then pissed and pushing. #4 Bolts ?? Shifter ? Tranny ? Automagic ? Transfer case ? No se. B
  11. In addition to... ...Eh V ??? You didn't mention Rodeo yet... B
  12. I'm thinking you have to be able to narrow the origin down better than that... Listen from different places, triangulate... Does it do it with the engine running or not ?? B
  13. It mainly depends on the condition of the old ones... If they are crappy, rusted, worn or bent, replace them. If not, reuse is possible. What are the torque specs on those bolts ? The higher the torque (VS size/pitch of the bolt) the less likely I am to reuse it... B
  14. Nope, not really... You could just go for new car payments instead. B
  15. LOL, sure... that would be easier... The starter comes out the front. It shouldn't take more than 1/2 hour to figure out, max... B
  16. Oops, sorry, I had the $411 stuck in my head from the tires... I'm not budging about the sticker though... Have you checked out the Tire Review in the Product Review section ? B
  17. Good about catching that the dizzy was off, your description of the rotor was a good clue. BAD about the knock though !! :o B
  18. Get the black steel rock crawlers and forget about the sticker. It'll save you about $200 and look better. Stickers are for posers, just ask Vengeful... B
  19. Ok. Hope it's what you need and that you like it. B
  20. LMAO. No $ issues, and it isn't my mind to decide. I have a part I'll sell you for 1/2 that you have listed. I tossed in the "I'll make you a bracket for $20" option to try to be helpfull. Trust me, I'd be far better off just working the extra hour+ it'll take me to make it. You make up your mind... B
  21. Wow, that looks like crap... Is it the truck, the picture or the photographer ? B
  22. Heh, I like it... Now you have to do something about the weenie little tail pipe hanging way out like that. I recommend starting with headers and working back. B
  23. I have 2 Pro Comp ES2000 steering stabilizers in my garage, new in box. I'll sell you one for $35 and $55 total if you want me to make a mount bracket... I think I have the bushings and washers also... I look when I get home. B

    snapring

Nope, they aren't meant to be bent like that... I can't see why you couldn't use a slightly different end snapring, as long as there are no clearance issues. Then again, is this one a standard size or is it specially tempered or something ?? I doubt it, but who knows... B
  25. Ditto in the 18" or preferable 24" extension. Don't touch the transfer case unless you need to for some reason. I dropped the tranny with the two attached and it wasn't really any harder... B
