Hope you can get it to work out, but that's a fancy trade up. Dear Gods!! She owed $ on a 99 Cavalier?? That might be TOO fancy a trade up!! B

What's what I thought... B
-
So why is Summit selling them for $7.99?? B

Wanna bet? I win or you are a Shau Lin monk that passed the rice paper trick, grasshopper. These things dent if you look at them too hard. I can see points of force dents from slamming the hood, with my palms!!! Do you weigh less than 50lbs or are you my new sensai ? B

LMAO, I'll agree with you about 3 hours after I fall asleep. Thanks for my next fantasy... Ok, I didn't know it was that much, but still, that's not bad for something you can assume to drive for another 100k. Look at it this way. You don't/will not have the time to play as kid(s) are involved, so you need the best base possible. Lets say it is PERFECT mechanically. It has 100k on the clock. You buy it for $4000. You paint it for $2000. That's still less than a used Frontier crew cab that probably isn't the colouuuuur you want... Lets face it, time is $. (Or kids). Or at least, that's the barrier I run into constantly. Damn, I feel like I'm trying to sell you a car. Sheit, I have a 95XE, 130K MT for sale cheap that is slated for the JY. You may not want it due to the slight front frame damage. Perfect for SAS!!! Wait, you don't have the time.... See my point? I really think the best thing you can do in you position is get a solid runner then make it like you want it to look, not the other way around. Still, best of luck on Blackie!! I'll keep my eyes peeled even though I'm 1/2 a continent away... (Shatterer of dreams) B

Thank you for the correction, you are absolutely correct. I was generalizing and assumed that he would read the TSB. Personally, I only put in 5 qts but threw in 1/2 quart of Lucas oil stabilizer for good luck. B

You are welcome, the point of this site is to help each other keep our Pathys healthy... I'm guessing it is per plug price. My Honda superbike used 4 Iridium plugs @ $23 a piece. That makes for one hell of a costly tune up... Purely for your benefit (and because I have the time, <5 minutes) I found this... http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.as...0395+314207+115 Hopefully it will load properly, if not go to summit and search for 'ngk-3306' or google around. Expensive, yes but less than 1/2 the price... B Yep, the link works fine....

Administration... B

I didn't look but are they the GL types? The one you want is GL-4. Buy an extra quart to overfill the tranny as per the TSB pinned at the top of this section. About the plugs, I have no idea. Believe it or not, I've never changed a plug on a pathfinder. I just buy them tuned up and buy another one when it needs the next tune up... B

Are we done using this thread as a chat room? Shall I clean up the mess or will you? Thanks... B

Interesting, but I don't know how restrictive the factory air box is. They are all restrictive, lets face it, but how much? That could work out well. Personally, I plan to go straight to snorkel... B

Turn the A/C off. Better yet, remove it... B

Dowser, may I give you a bit of advice? Good... Allow me to remind you of this and point out the truth of it. I know you want a black Pathy with certain trim levels/options that has no rust. What I suggest is you either be VERY patient and ignore prices and distance from your local, or you don't worry about the color (unless it is lime green or some such nonsense) and find one that is low mileage mechanically sound, with the most important options that you want (no rust is a no brainer). Limiting yourself to one color cuts your options down incredibly so why buy something that is aged/worn or you have to rebuild when you could buy a mechanically sound vehicle (probably cheaper and closer) WHEN YOU CAN HAVE THE FRIGGIN THING REPAINTED!!!, hmm? My point is that after you spent all the time and $ fixing up a worn, high mileage pathy, doesn't that equal the cost of a paint job? Go after the best low mileage/mechanically sound Pathy you can find that has a manual tranny and the other things you want, then have pigment applied. I'm sure you will be much happier in the long run. I have just bought a stock 95 XE in the metalic biege silver color. It has 96k original miles, never been in an accident and the body/paint is in 95% condition. The interior is in very good shape and everything works. With in the last 15k miles the auto tranny has been rebuilt, new radiator, tranny cooler, brake pads, starter, battery, fuel filter, ball joints and the tires are 90% (too bad they are 235/75R15 but I plan to sell them). It has a decent aftermarket stereo (with remote), 2 key less entry remotes, cargo nets and a roof rack waiting to be installed. All I have to do soon is the timing belt (water pump, thermostat, etc) and it is a sound truck I'll have for a long time. Cost was $3,300, a good price for a running, non smashed car in Cali. I detailed all that to point out, get yourself a low mileage WD21 in good shape, then make it look the way you want. To do it the other way around is much more difficult and fraught with grief. Just trying to help... B

Ok, I'll play. I could have sworn I did an intro in the noob section, but it doesn't seem to come up. Perhaps I'll try again. Regardless, here the one that has the same date as my join date shows. B

WD21 OWNERS: What drive train/model trim do you have?
Precise1 replied to Precise1's topic in General Forums
Well, while I had hoped for more than 25 votes as that is not a statistically valid quantity, there are several trends to be noted. 1) 1/3 of all WD21s are SE-automatic tranny-LSD rear differential-4.6 gears 2) 3/4 of all the rear differentials are LSD so open carriers for lockers could become scarce. 3) Only 1/3 of the WD21s came with 4.3 gears so 2/3 are happier running slightly larger tires (31x10.5 seem to be a perfect match) The ratio of XE to SE to LE is 6/16/2. Any one see any trends I am missing? B -
Some people have had problems with 'MAF cleaner'. I recommend alcohol, Q-tips and some love. Check your wiring connector, it is a common failure point. To test things, warm up the truck, then wiggle the connector and see if anything changes. If not disconnect it entirely and see if there is any change. Other than that, you need a multi meter wo check the wiring/connections. B

Best to measure from the ground to the middle of the horizontal body crease. I'll measure both my stock pathy and the one with the lift you described when I get home. B Ok, both trucks are '95 XE but that doesn't really matter. Stock with 235/75/R15 tires is 35.75" in front and 36.875" rear. Indexed/cranked torsion bars and JGC springs, 31"x10.5" tires is 37.75" front and 38.5" rear. The measurements are from the ground to the center (deepest part) of the horizontal body crease. Hope this helps you. B

102.73mph @ sea level, 28"Hg, 20 degrees C, 0 wind, 34% humidity. Now that you know the answer, you don't have to be a dumb ass and race your truck. B

LOL, not quite... Like Simon said. Here is the link. 1994 model will serve you on most things other than the dash and a few other minor changes. Otherwise, it is the same. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=9692 B

I believe the fan shroud is a two piece unit, the smaller portion on the bottom (people often leave this portion off when they do a body lift). You may be able to unbolt the bottom section, then the top section and slide, twist and weasel it off. Take a good look first against the diameter of the fan and clearances and (obviously) be careful of the radiator fins. I've found a thin piece of cardboard trimmed into shape can help avoid radiator mishaps. Once again, it is dark (and cold, just not raining) here so I'm not motivated enough to go out and crawl around to look. Tomorrow, or someone will correct/agree with me? B Say, have you downloaded the FSM yet? It could help illustrate some of these issues...

I like the look and your Pathy looks tough. Well done!! B

Need a recommendation that won't blow up the vehicle
Precise1 replied to k9sar's topic in The Garage
Perhaps, try it. X2 B -
Sorry Bud, can't help you in the slightest. B

I believe Steeevo did that a couple of years ago. You basically need a donor truck or a really good junkyard... B
