  1. Adamzan tried to fix one, I believe and now has one with broken glass so he may be able to supply some insight. Anything about them in the FSM? Do you have the FSM?? B
  2. Boy, am I glad we can all act like adults here, regardless of age. WTF is is the major malfunction? Go out and wheel or some other hobby to blow off steam, this is not the place for it; all you do is sound like idiots!! B Thanks MZ for shutting this down...
  3. No Sears won't care at all, even if the techs notice. There is no alignment that can be done with the rear so it doesn't matter and they won't pay any attention to it. B
  4. I seem to remember this issue being mentioned before, at least the soldering part. Should it be dug up, combined and pinned? B
  5. Like the title says... It was $6.99/qt+$12.99 filter=$48 'normal' price so you save $18 or 38%. Limit 2 per day and sale ends July 1. If you run synthetic and have an Autozone near by, you might want to stock up. B
  6. I have seen a few that have tremendous articulation so I'll have to disagree with you. Let's say "If you do a leaf spring conversion, do it right!!". B
  7. Yep, I had a Z24 in a 1984 D720 king cab PU. Ultra reliable but with the power output somewhere between an electric toothbrush and a mortally wounded hamster; 106hp fresh from the factory, I believe. The VG30e does just fine after driving a z24. I'm pretty sure there was the Z24 and then the Z24i... B
  8. Yeah, buy the MT out of my old Pathy, it only has 132k miles and no issues... B
  9. Sounds like you may have some air trapped in the system and it is messing with the temp sensor. Either that or the temp sensor is bad... B
  10. Yep and the fact that it has the adjustable suspension indicates it is an SE not an LE, I believe. Regardless, yes, there was almost endless mix and match on these trucks... B
  11. Ok gents, now you have both had your say. Lets cool off and let it be now. Thanks for both of your opinions on headers/exhaust... B
  12. O2 sensor issue? Mileage should be calculated per gallon, the only way to make sense... I thought the Pathys came with 4.3x or 4.6x ratios... B
  13. Another guy here had a tow truck driver put diesel fuel in his. It sort of ran... I'd pull a fuel line and pump out as much gas as possible, then add a few fresh gallons with some injector cleaner (Lucas makes some good stuff). Buy a can of starting fluid and use that to help get it fired up. If needed, mark the distributor and then rotate it a little to see if it will catch then, but you shouldn't have to... Getting it to start will allow you to check other things, as you know. All this is under the assumption that the timing belt is correct. (Sorry, I had to say that) B
  14. Did the belt slip or what? You asked about my motor for sale in my parting out thread. Get back to me... You would have to import the 2.7TD (not worth the hassle/cost in my book) and while the Z24 motor is very reliable, I think it uses a different tranny (?) and is far underpowered for a pathfinder, especially if you live in the mountains. I think you should just find another VG30E or have your repaired... B
  15. So with the pinched cooler tube, the tranny failed as if the stock radiator cooler had plugged. Sounds like someone did a crappy job with the cooler install. Thanks for the update and glad you got it back running fairly easily. Where did you buy your parts from, BTW?? B
  16. Just make sure that it is the tranny with overdrive, the earliest ones didn't have it. There was a thread recently about auto trannys and going from TBI (2 door) to MPFI (4 door); it was sensor and tranny ECU related. You should give it a read, let me see if I can find it... B Here it is, but I think there is also another. Best search around a bit... http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...50&hl=trans
  17. Did that solve the problem?? B
  18. That's like 7 flavors of stupid right there... Glad you got it figured out and it's running again. B
  19. Yep, you don't need a CEL to check for error codes. The O2 sensor doesn't always trigger the CEL. You can also check the resistance of the O2 sensor, 1-1000 ohms IIRC. Check/wiggle the wiring at the MAF, it can't hurt... B
  20. Yep. Take the cover off of the steering column and tilt the steering wheel down, it's not too hard to get to. Make sure to check the brass screws also as these are the ground points and shouldn't be loose... B
  21. Bacon Uber Burgers last night and bacon and eggs for breakfast this morning. I am content. B
  22. I don't get why the Cl would fail after 6 months... Wheel bearings aren't hard, but if you aren't used to seating races, it can be a pain. Check the ones you have and make sure they still turn freely and smoothly, then you can repack and torque them. Mine were crunchy on one sides I simply replaced all of them (probably could have just replaced the outers). You can always just take the rotors in to a shop and have them replace the races and rear seal. It would be much cheaper than having them do the whole job... B
