Drilled into the water jacket - Can it be fixed
Precise1 replied to darkflounder's topic in The Garage
This was my thought also. It should be possible doping the threads with something, but you would always have the risk of leaks and I'm not sure how long the stud would last... B -
changing transmission fluid and filter on a 95 pathfinder

Sounds like bushings and mounts. Trailing arms, pan hard rod and sway bar. In other words, everything with a bushing that pivots back there. Suspend it by the frame and wrestle with the rear axle, I'll bet you find it/them. B
-
GG has it. 94=WD21. Frame, torsion bar front end, spline locking hubs... 99=R50. No frame, strut front end, drive flange units. I don't think there will be any straight forward compatibility at all. B

Yes, bypass the radiator completely. No need for two if they are of good size (16,000 GVW+) Here, read these... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=23072 http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...mp;#entry417544 http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...4&hl=cooler B

Allow me to point out a few things?? You can edit/include as you see fit and I'll delete this post. My Message inbox is almost overflowing due to traffic. Yes, the radiator drain thing doesn't seem to work right for anyone and is almost impossible to get to; just pull the bottom radiator hose and be done with it. Yes, unavoidable. Bring rags!! Remove the fan/clutch first after loosening the shroud, then everything can be removed including the radiator without removing the hose barbs. The right way to do it. I used 2x2" sections of hose, 2 dowel pins and 4 hose clamps to cap them. B
-
You are going off of 8mm (?) hard line ends near the lower radiator hose to where ever the cooler is mounted and whatever the fittings are. The best would be similar size barb ends or slip fits but odds are you will need to do some adapting. It will be easy to find reducer fittings so buy the style you like or what will fit/mount best... Yes, it is a good idea. I inquired at a machine shop about it (don't have a lathe big enough) and it was cheaper to buy a resurfaced one from Napa using the old one for core charge... about $70 IIRC. B

So you made "a cradboard template for a T-case skid I designed" also?? Did it look exactly like the flat box on the table?? B
-
Ahh, I dug up a photo of it... B

Hell no Nunya, of course those are not my fingers in the picture!! Just look at that terrible shade; I'm no freakin' Emo/Goth!! B

You are saying that you used a starter out of a VG33 (96-2001 pathfinder?) and it was smaller, therefore easier to install?? *takes notes* B

LOL, no judgement at all. The 3" lift is the most common by far, usually to fit the largest tires possible or the more is better attitude. I just wanted to understand what options I'm missing out on... If you use that extra inch of lift to fit larger tires then yes, it will make some difference. Otherwise not so much... My Pathy runs 2600-2700rpm at 65mph with 235/75/15 tires. That will be 2450-2550rpm when I install the 31" tires. 33" would kill the rpms and I don't want that for my DD. Hence a 2" lift and no 33" tires. B
-
What are all those options? B

It seems pretty valuable to me. I'll pin it now and people can fight about it later... B

Not really, it just means someone else is going to wade... Bad things. And no on the gum, this is more fun!! Sorry... B
-
WTF? Like I'm not helpful or know what I'm saying?? Now I'm being cranky!! (thanks again Pezzy, that's exactly what was needed!!) B
-
The ones I used were different. Did you look at the link?? B

Borrow/buy a compression tester and check the cylinders before you start tearing into it. How old is the timing belt and tensioner? Could the TB have jumped a tooth? B
-
I've used mine a dozen times on VWs, Pathys and Hondas. I never had any problem, did you read the instructions? B
-
I replaced my clutch with OEM parts, about $250 for everything. The stock clutch should be sufficient... B

Grand Cherokee Springs in the rear
Precise1 replied to 94pathfinder's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Sorry, I get the confusion now... You take the coil springs out of the front of a V8 Grand Cherokee and use them for the back of the pathfinder... B -
http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...=coating+inside http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...=coating+inside That's a start... B

'95 4x4 Pathfinder - Several Questions
Precise1 replied to DoctorBill's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Yes Doctor Bill, that about sums it up. Allow me to point out a few things though... You won't have to do this again for a long time. You now know how to remove the bumper and grill since you removed them for no reason. You will experience the joy of re-installing parts unnecessarily. Don't feel alone... B
