IIRC Rancho hasn't made a lift for the Pathfinder for years, and with SuperLift the part is for a Nissan Hardbody (D21) not Pathfinder (WD21). http://www.superlift.com/Catalog.asp?P=K297 Basically have a parts store call Superlift and order the UCAs only (say that the hardbody was in front end accident) for a Hardbody 4x4 V6. It is the same part... For the rear you need springs which are listed in threads here. If you are going with large tires or offroad aggressively, a modified centerlink and an idler arm brace is a good idea. B

I drove it 10 miles. My round trip commute... (Nunya has a short dip stick!!) B

Yep, it is a common issue. Glad you finally found it and it was a simple fix. Yes, one item can spawn several codes that are simply symptoms down stream so it can get confusing. B

my pathfinder finally met its match....twice in one day

There is a guy, hoohaa, who has a nice SASed pathy that is for sale. Same state as you IIRC, I'll see if I can look it up. B -
The guy did not comment, but yes, mine is within 3" of the orininal location and yes, that is the CARB law. Actually, I doubt he checked, what is he to measure to and where does he get that information from? B

I talked to Steeeevo (Steven of Rugged Rocks) a week or two ago and he said he was planning to go. B
-
^Pretty much it. T-bar sag and wheel offset are the main factors. B

IIRC the R50 starter matched up perfectly to the WD21 and is a hair smaller, making it easier to get in. I will try to recall (I think I posted it here) the new 'redesigned' starter that my pathy's PO had installed. It works flawlessly for 2.5 years now with no sign of giving up. It was purchased through Napa, I do recall that... B

MAF cleaner has caused a few people problems. Alcohol and a gentle touch works well. What next? Drive it and see if it does it again. Since it doesn't leave you stranded, only change 1 thing at a time or you won't know what it was you fixed for the future... B
-
Drove it to the hospital today, twice. The gun store was closed though... B

Time for a tranny cooler, eh?? Yeah, these are great little trucks, but they just aren't set up to compete in the mudbogs. Not enough ponies and not enough room for huge tires. For a general purpose wheeler that you can still drive to work, I want nothing else. B -
Yes, they are smog legal and my truck recently passed Ca smog with a complete aftermarket/custom exhaust. I don't believe there is any others that are legal in Ca. B

Smoke coming from front in cab..burned small hole in carpet
Precise1 replied to NissanNismoZ's topic in The Garage
Just because you had that on your truck... B -
Run the diagnostic code on the ECU to see what it says (instructions on the Garage/How To), check the resistance of the O2 sensor according to the FSM (downloadable in the Garage section) and go from there. I'm not an exhaust expert, but I suspect that having the O2 sensor read off of one bank wasn't the best idea... B

Hell no!! I like my exhaust removable... B -
Good to hear. Did you notice any power or response improvements? B

Yes, that is the thermostat. MY1PATH is right, many people don't use a thermostat gaslet. I did use it, but I also put sealant on both sides of it. It looks like the timing belt kit (with the waterpump) has the T-belt tensioner, the crank and the cam seals also, right? (verify that!!) If so, then all you need is that kit, the thermostat and the bypass hose. Save the valve cover gaskets for some time you have the intake plenum off and you are good to go for the next 160,000km!! You are welcome, helping others is the whole point of the site. These might be good to read... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=12828 http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=23280&st=0&p=416969&hl=+timing%20+belt&fromsearch=1entry416969 B

You need the kit and the crank seal because you have to remove the timing belt to get to it and to do that you have to remove the waterpump and the timing belt covers. It is a lot of work to get to unfortunately. You may want to consider changing the timing belt at the same time if it hasn't been done for a while. Check your cam seals for leaking also, and it is a good time to change the thermostat and the bypass hose too. It's up to you how much to do, but it is the same amount of labor for eash item... B

Does anyone have a 1994 SE sales sticker?
Precise1 replied to jwblue's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Damn, I didn't realize they went for that much either!! LOL I bought my second 95 2.5 years ago for $3200, 1/10th the price. B -
I put a cat in it... and drove it to the vet. B

Solenoid first if you want to save $. k9sar did a write up on starter trouble shoot and rebuild. Let me know if you can't find it and I will... B

As was mentioned above, it's not unusual for people to have a hard time with the shifter before they get the hang of it. While stopped and in neutral or park if in an auto, put the T case into neutral, push down and pull back simultaneously. It should engage 4low. You may need to clean/ lube the linkage (accessable from the drivers side). Once in 4low, pull up on the shifter to lock it in. B

Thanks Yendor, I figured as much but like to make sure before I order. AHB, Thanks for checking up on that. Yes, it is just the angle (more acute) that makes them look more narrow. Look at the ends of the tubes, they run along side the ball joint mount plate. With the AC units, if the tube extended past the edge of the mounting plate, they would interfere with the mounting holes. I have the Rough Country units on my truck and like them alot, my first pick other than the Rancho which I haven't inspected or mounted. (made by superlift, just rebadged). They mount on the stock spindles also... B

Yep, I looked, took a picture and forgot to post it... It babbles something about being a vehicle legally viable for commerce in the state of California. The answer is yes, if it says this it is most likely Cal model and not a 49 state unit. What is the difference for these vehicles? I really don't know but sometimes it goes as far as ECUs tuned slightly differently more smog control rather than power or whatnot. It really shouldn't make much of a difference other than it having less rust... I'll post the picture of the sticker tonight. B
