  1. With that much lift id worry about the driveshaft length
  2. If I were you id spend more money on your suspension setup and performance of the suspension than a bumper that really just offers looks....that is until you hit something. Get some new stuts shocks and springs. You will be happy you did, I chose a lift over a bumper and was glad I did
  3. Awesome pics and vids as always guys! I wish there were cool places to take trips to in Texas but there really isnt.
  4. Good pick with the job man. Sounds like smittybuilt has some good customer service!
  5. Those look alot wider than a 12.5 lol. Any idea of the backspacing on the wheels?
  6. I pull a small trailer for work, it only weighs about 1700lbs when fully loaded with water and supplies but the pathy tows it no issues no need for turning off od or anything. Its like its not even there. May want to look more into brakes though, of course my load is often live weight which likes to push you around more but none the less its something to consider.
  7. Dude thats awesome! My pathy wishes she was there to join in the sfd goodness
  8. I have had nothing but great experience with my vq, love it to death. Take good care of it with regular maintenance and it pays you back.
  9. Whenever the topic of the R50 vs other model pathfinders comes up the first thing out of anyones mouth is always...Well the r50 does not have a frame!! You say it with some spunk as if it has some kinda valid point behind it, when really what is that point? What are the advantages to having a frame besides the whole oh real trucks have frames and its easier to lift them and so on. Sure my pathy is a unibody but never once have I EVER found myself in a situation where I was saying to myself "damn I wish I had a frame" I wheel my pathy and put it in some pretty good situations...the doors always open and never bind, the body does not torque like in some other vehicles. The towing capacity is pretty much identical to that of the wd, if anything id imagine towing with a r50 would be easier due to having more power at your disposal. The running gear on the r50 in terms of trans and xcase and axles is pretty much all the same. If anything the fact that the r50 has a unibody can be used as an arguement against a frame. The truck rides awesome, alot better than any jeep or lifted truck I have been in and our unibodies are not as notorious for becoming swiss cheese after a period of time.
  10. Yes you have a tx10 transfer case in your pathy. IMO just try and stick to whats stock dont try and put parts from a different vehicle into something it was not made for. There are tons of junkyards in the houston area that have plenty of pathys to pick from. Atleast there were when I was last there lol
  11. Sure you can throw on lift springs with stock hardware (shocks and struts) Most just change it out when they get the chance to do it cause it makes things easier. I know when I did my lift all the stock suspension was still in place and needing repair/replacement so I just did a lift at the same time for a little more money. The front struts are no different from any other strut you can buy since they are all the same dimensions, just KYB is the best buy and performing. The rear shocks will work but will limit travel of the rear suspension until you can buy longer shocks. Im pretty sure they will work, if not just get some cheapo autozone ones or something thats long enough. I have procomp rear shocks on mine that have lasted 3 years and still work great....paid 75 bucks for both of them out the door and I have TONS of flex with them.
  12. If only you were not so far away lol. Driving to El Paso is like driving to a different state basically lol.
  13. Parents ordered ours. Its a 2001 LE 3.5 every option but the navi and rear cd/dvd wanna say it was 38?
  14. I went wheeling this weekend in the middle of a texas summer and a massive drought. The thermometer reading in the pathy got up to 115 degrees for awhile. I was wheeling with the windows up from 9 til 7 with the ac on and the temp never got above half way. If thats not a testament to how well the stock cooling system is then I dont know what is. Its the same with stop and go traffic, never have any issues
  15. Yeah I had to swerve around a semi that rear ended another truck on the side of the road and then wound up flipping in a ditch at around 70mph with 33's and the 6in lift. That was REALLY sketchy with a front sway bar...I have a really strong feeling it would have turned out much much worse if I had the front sway off.
  16. Check out this link, basically when you turn left without a sway bar your body of the pathy will want to keep going straight and creat a roll feeling. The body rolls more as the suspension does more work. http://www.speeddirect.com/index.aspx?nodeID=158
  17. Without sway bars the front end is floaty to say the least! It does not ride like trash, it actually rides better and makes the suspension softer in my opinion. But you have to be very careful with it. Body roll will be very obvious, so take it easy if you take it off. I take mine off from time to time just cause I like to feel the suspension work if you can get that? But 90 percent of the time my sway bars are on up front, even when I wheel.
  18. I dont really remember to be honest, its been quite a bit since the life was installed
  19. Leave the battery negative cable undone for 12 hours. That will clear out the codes, my iat sensor is just zip tied in my engine compartment lol. Gave me an issue for a bit til I cleared the code and it never came back.
  20. Non Alcoholic -Dr Pepper -Water -Powerade Alcoholic -Shots are my favorite (ninja turtle, car bombs, stop light, royal you know what, rootbeer float shot) -BL Lime, Blue Moon, Miller Lite, anything mixed with coke, malibu and sprite -HATE WINE
  21. Yeah im surprised the driveshaft could take that much lift. Also since you dont have a panhard drop you may want to keep an eye on your tires, when I ran around without one for awhile since the axle was pulled towards the side it started to chew up the inside of my rear tires. Also caused bad tire scrub on my shocks....enough to bring me to a hault at slower speeds. Just some things to watch out for!
  22. Man I really wanna make a trip out there soon.
  23. For the AC 2in lift with new shocks and struts its going to run you about 800. The SFD is about the same price once you buy the coils for it and brake lines ect.
